It is good to see accountability for things people say, but in this environment where right wingers and others can get away with ANYTHING they want, it's a difficult pill to swallow that liberals have to be so much more accountable.

I don't like his show to be honest. But I accept his apology. Sometimes things slip out. He obviously didn't do it intentionally, and he couldn't have been more upfront. If you can't forgive someone for something as insignificant as this then you are full of much more hate than Ed ever was. Not to mention a hypocrite, because there's no way anyone who can speak, didn't at some point in their life, slip up and say something they regretted. I am NOT an Ed Schultz fan by any means, but that was not an apology just to save his job. A large part of that was out of remorse, and Schultz should be commended.
I wish that political discourse in this country would stop getting so personal. Both sides do it. If you are on the left and think the right does it more, you're wrong, if you are on the right and think the left does it more, you're wrong. Both sides are just as bad.
It's unfortunate, because it gets us nowhere.

His apology did seem sincere but it underscores a pattern of the left. If you are a women or a black conservative, it is much more tolerable from the left to make 'politically incorrect' and/or 'offensive' comments toward that person.

Rush is a gentleman, as opposed to the likes of Ed Schultz, Lawrence O'Donnell, Keith Olbermann, et al.
