As someone who was lucky enough to know Dax you have no idea the joy I get in seeing others perform his work. I firmly believe that he will be one day considered one of the classical greats, and the fact that there are pianists out there actively seeking to get his music made into sheet music and learning his songs only reinforces this.
@ariccatron So true. What an impression to leave behind... it's a fingerprint of his, so unique. So saddened that I didn't get the chance to see or hear him play but I agree with you wholeheartedly. I'm glad there'll be in sheet music for these sometime soon. In the meantime, suppose I'll have to learn how to play by ear in the near future lol
@StereotypeRayne Hi there, well I just spent a few hours really listening for each of the notes and eventually figured it out till the end. I usually start with a few notes which gives you an indication of what key it's in, then from there I worked it out as what chords each section was based around. Unfortunately there's not sheet music around for it! Sorry.
@bloodninja72 Sure, well to get the gist of the song, you've got to know it's in G sharp minor / B major and the first 'chord' (I work in chords when figuring out songs by ear), is G sharp minor chord. So the left hand is playing the 1st, the 5th of G sharp minor with an extra "E" note. The right hand is basically playing around the G sharp chord (G sharp, B, D sharp), and the tiny melody is pretty much B, Asharp, Gsharp, Asharp, B while alternating with the higher D sharp. Hope this helps!
@trussminer Thanks very much, I'm working on a masterpiece which sounds great in F minor at the moment so be sure to keep checking in for the upload : ) Thanks again for the compliments!
@kinli1 Thankyou, I will try to do so in the future when I have some more time. I basically went through the song bit by bit, firstly finding out the bass notes, then building them up into a chord, then at the same time trying to find out what key it's in. I kind of just see patterns though on the keyboard and have an idea of where to play next.
i wish i could play like this my right hand can manuver like this but left hand has trouble sometimes hitting notes i want in cordination with right very frustrating im self taught still learning i love playing music of this nature i love dax just found out about him couple of months ago i wish one day to even be as good as you proably wont but ill still be playing at least till i feel acheived in my desire to play what i think of in my head and put it into reality
@dougmaann You will put what is in your head into a reality someday. All it is is practice, I used to tell myself that I couldn't play like the people I wanted to play like, then I realised that I could learn so much more by just telling myself "I can learn how to play that" rather than "I can't and don't know how to play that", takes a while to believe you can do it, but the more you realise you've accomplished something you previously couldnt do, the more you realise your true potential : )
I´m not playing myself, but let me tell you ...Wow!! You learned this by listening?! That´s amazing! I´ve got to know Dax music only a short while ago and simply fell in love with it. It´s great to watch you playling. ;)
Haha thanks a lot, it's not tinny, it's just the video recording quality, it doesn't show up as well as I would like, need to go into a recording studio for that. Glad you like though, thanks again : )
Hello, glad you like! He certainly was a fantastic musician. Unfortunately though, I haven't got any sheet music and I don't know of any circling around the globe. I learned this by listening to the song very carefully... listening out for the chord changes first, then working out the individual notes from there, doing it this way will probably get you learning by ear. The chorus chords are B, F#, Gm, E and it's in B major/G#minor. Good thing is, playing by ear IS learnable : ) Good luck!
@gurkpastill Hey there, I eventually want to hyperscribe the music (which is just playing and it automatically writing into a computer), so if I ever figure that out, I'll be sure to post the music online : )

@reliablekat Dax was amazing in that he didn't have sheet music! In fact he was self taught couldn't read music. I have heard that some artists are trying to get sheet music made for some of his music. Amazing
@bLaCkRoSs3 Well I started playing the actual piano when I was about 22, there's always time to learn, you don't have to start when you're a kid, you've just got to overcome that belief, it's practice dedication and belief in yourself that you can do it : )
