The wheel cleaner is good at breaking away brake dust grit and grim and also chrome, clear coat and just messing up your wheels. Why would you use it. Use a little elbow greese not acid.

for the first time in a long time I'd say that 99% of what he did/said is right. I personally detail cars and I'm not a hack like most of them out there. The only he did wrong was to use an acidic rim cleaner. It is possible to ruin the finish of the rim if a product is too acidic. Any automotive degreaser would work just as well and not cause any long term problems. I personally use Meguiars APC

I would never use that on my wheels. If you use it they will look like crap in record time. The clear coat will be ruined and you will need to have the wheels refinished. All you need to clean them is regular car wash soap. And keep them polished with car wax.

There is nothing wrong with using a Sponge and brushes on the wheels/tires.

Degreasers are perfect for cleaning Wheels and such. You should where gloves.

A professional like myself does a similar process.

After what he did you Dress the Tires and Polish/Wax the wheels.

He used an "Acid-Based" formula for the wheels which will really damage it in the long run, not to mention strip off the clearcoat if there is one, most cars do now.

You should never use a bucket for the wheels/tires either I rinse the sponges and mitts after each use.

I always use a separate microfiber sponge for the wheel wells and tires and a microfiber mitt for the wheels, not an old-fashioned sponge.

I go the extra mile so that way the customer's cars wont deteriorate so rapidly.

Basically all heavy cleaners contain some type of acidic formula. This is not recommend for uncoated wheels, but they won't strip the clearcoat off.

and bilbery wheel cleaner with a soft brush will make the rims great

then rinse

then dry and just seal the rim after with some wheel sealant

then some megs endurance gel for the tyres perfect :D

u shud never use the acid based cleaner because most modern cars now have lacquered wheels. this is what flakes when they get kerbed. just normal car wax with warm water is good as the acid based cleaners can strip the enamel or cloud a wheel within 3 years, whereas wax will protect them, even if they have been kerbed

The acid based cleaner is ok to get the brake dust out from the inside part of the wheel when it hasn't been cleaned for a long time, but you don't have to use acid based cleaners everytime. He didn't even mention which wheels not to use acid on some wheels will cloud up like a bitch with acid as a good rule of thumb just use a de-greaser, a brush, and hey buddy how about a pressure washer they work wounders lol all in all he's a doush

The stuff I used today gives it a wet look but it is a pill to apply. The way I do it to get even application and to make it easier is wash and scrub the tire then back the car and get the spots I could not scrub that way icleaned al the tire same for when I applied the wet look stuff. It is a product I got at walmart orange bottle black top comes with an applicator.

I know how to clean a tire the issue I have is application of the tire protectant if you spray it the wheel and fender gets over spray and collects grime quickly. If you apply by hand it never seems to look even what off the shelf prouct is recommended.

LOL to much time taken and money for buying all those degreaser I have a tip for you guys you can use "laundry powdered soap" just half a scoop put it in a bucket full of water mix it a little (I use laundry powdered soap because it can remove grease faster than your degreaser and safer ^___^ smells good too hehe,) then dip your brush in it then thoroughly brush all the wheels then after that rinse it then dry it using a chamois and put tire polish.
