Great video - Maxis really should have let this kind of functionality in by default. I've had plenty of times I really wanted asymmetry - while other parts remain out of the loop, I guess hands/feet will do for now :)

There are a few things that can prevent saving. Make sure you throw away junk limbs. Make sure all other remaining symmetrical limbs end with hands or feet (which can be asymmetrical). Make sure there isn't so much of a difference in size where the limbs attach to asymmetric hands or feet that there's a disconnection with one of them.

It would be easier if Maxis would reenable asymmetry. It's already built into Spore, but they have it disabled due to some "issues". This is a bug that allows us to bypass that disablement to some degree.
