I'm a huge fan of westerns, everything from Anthony Mann to Budd Boetticher. I can honestly say this and A Painted Wagon, though, are among the worst westerns (maybe even movies) ever made.
This looks fabulous. It must never have been released in Australia - I'd remember it if it hadda been. It looks like a must-get. "Blazing Saddles" has got nothing on this mob. Nor has "F Troop". 5 Stars !!
Burt Lancaster at his funniest, Lee Remick at her prettiest, and the sound track is glorious. I agree with slightly. If you've had a bad day, just sit down and watch this movie. You can't help but smile all the way through it.
A completely over-the-top as well as very underappreciated movie. And it is extremely funny. I highly recommend it when you are feeling a bit down. And it goes down even better with a glass of Whiskey.
A classic. Martin Landau plays the best Indian (that would be "Native American" for you kids or "Wagon Burner" for you oldsters ;-) you'll ever see in a cliche western. Watching Burt Lancaster & Brian Keith become angry is alone worth the price of admission.
