It is like this, Belphegor(in their older albums) tended to be either on the Black side or the Death side. I remember their EP was death, but when Bluthsabbath came out,it was all black. Belphegor aren't really black metal, they are and they aren't. Blackened Death Metal. Very blackened, granted, but not really black metal. I don't mean this to be anything against Belphegor, they are a good band, but not straight up black metal.

I must admit that their music is just awesome, especialy last... 4 albums or so. Even the songs that are "renewed" (such as Swarm of Rats) sound realy great. I have all of their songs and i am listening trough them daily, and i must admit its the only band that realy inspires me.

The latest album (walpurgis rites) however, isnt that strong in my opinion. I am missing something in style of Hell's Ambassador or We Shred for Sathan. Never the less, this song is realy great and destroyer too...

Behemoth wasn't good since Zos Kia Cultus, but the new album is redeeming. It's much better than The Apostasy or Demigod.

The new Belphegor album is pretty good. I wouldn't say it's my favorite. Pestapokalypse is still their best, but I definitely enjoyed this one and BGZ.
