  • well done by smokey. well sung then back in the day and even now.

  • I had never heard this song, I was sitting and watching with my parents. My mom said...wow I have NOT heard that song in so long. It used to be played so often, and then it disappeared. I, for one, am so glad I heard it tonight. Amazing! Lesson learned don't forget the people that worked to clear our path. I am blessed to have heard this song. Music to my ears and heart ... <3

  • His version with THE MIRACLES was much better....ESPECIALLY the LIVE version from their album "1957-1972" . It was released on CD on the album , SMOKEY ROBINSON & THE MIRACLES: THE LIVE COLLECTION. If anyone has THAT version, please post.

  • Slow version was ok but give me the faster version.... I remember the first time I heard it... Made me want to go out and burn some shit down. Just kidding... man those were some wild days... Smokey's still cool...

  • Simply sublime

  • Smokey can do it all!

  • Smokey did an EXCELLENT job on this song. You Go Boy!!!

  • This song has always been deeply moving. Yes, only the good die young. Smokey has done this song justice.

  • An Excellent Performance!

  • The 50th Anniversary of Motown was the same year the Obama got elected. I've been a Motown fan since 1964 and I think that Smokey, Stevie, Levi, Diana, and we can't forget Marvin, along with the Funk Brothers, the Groups had a huge hand in advancing our society and civil rights for all. Smokey is awesome here.

  • I was there and it was a great concert!!!

  • One of the most beautiful, touching, and refreshingly simple song sung with such clarity and passion. Smokey's version of Dion's classic is the best version and always brings a tear to my eye when I sing it and thing of what might have happened if the good didn't always die so young.

  • Love it, love it, love it

  • cute vocal

  • 10 **********

  • Ah just love Smokey, he still got it.

Cant belive he turns 70 this week, wow

  • Thank you for putting this up. When I saw him sing this the other night, I thought what a beautiful yet haunting version of his old classic. Thanks again!

  • Moving and Elegant, Smokey.

  • All been murdered fighting for freedom, that's were they've gone! lovely song, at least he's not singing about white women!

  • I like this slowed-down soulful rendition. I loved the original when it came out back in the day. I have to say, Smokey still has some pretty smooth vocals.
