can you get this dvd of the concert anywhere? although i miss lindsey, it's still great. any fleetwood mac is great music and it brings back so many memories.
@chat099 he actually played more than one thing on this song, but they only used the synth bass part (he apparently did not play the main synth riff). He performed his part on the Jupiter 8.
This is by far One of the Best versions of this Amazing song! I just wish someone would post her performance on Saturday Night Live of Stand Back in 1983! It was Incredible!
I saw her many years ago at Spartan Stadium in San Jose which was her home town. She was fire up, inspired, powerful and the crowd was on fire as well especially when she did this. I will never forget it.
Though i still can't get used to Fleetwood Mac playing Stand Back. It just always looks wrong (especially two years ago!) with old Mick and John bobbing away to a synth. haha...
@mscubana The synthesizer riff was specially made for Stevie Nicks by Prince. Played by a great keyboard player (Christine McVie)... the result is of course, excellent.
@Venu337 Ummmm...no. But thanks for ASSuming. And Stevie herself has called herself a performance artist. And then she goes on to say "perfomance artists" never retire. It was when she was talking about Beyonce, someone else along the lines of the TRL J. Lo line.
Rocky Radio....... Stevie Nicks is going for the Dolly Parton hair due look. What this, no Lindsey Buckingham??? Fleetwood is not Fleetwood Mac without Lindsey!!
It totally looks that way (except Mick)--but I saw Fleetwood not too long ago and they still do this song...at every show..so hopefully they love it like I do!
Gorgeous. That's how I describe Stevie Nicks. She looks amazing here. And sounds awesome. Love this song, one of my favorites. That hair was typical of that decade. I was 16 in 1987, that is how we styled it. My oldest daughter jokes that our hair had its own zip code. Maybe, but we thought it was cool.
@thewhoissuperb24, you are right Taylor Swift is just a little spoiled girl brat with a guitar, this lady can really sing, her hair was quite nice for that style era, she was just beautiful, she really expresses herself, when she sings, Taylor Swift sings like a hangover.
Love that John McVie and Mick Fleetwood are on this video. Didn't really follow Stevie's solo career at the time, and had no idea they toured with her. Well, I sure love her solo stuff now, and really everything she has ever done!
Ahh, the plump. ..Klonopin years.... Nearly every close-up redone, all the "fire" all but gone from her voice.... Thank goodness she maid it thru those years....
Why the Lady Gaga comparisons? I don't quite understand it. Even as worn out as she is from a decade of being at the top, and as edited as this video is (cos it was shot over 2 nights and a rehearsal), Stevie Nicks has way more style in a single glance than some chick (Gaga) who walked on stage after stealing an image, putting done some centimental tea cup and pretending she had a dick as a publicity stunt.
@thewhoissuperb24 lady gaga is just a "gimmick" and taylor swift cannot sing, those ladies could sure LEARN quite a bit from miss nicks! stevie always and will rock on!
Stevie... there's no one like her... and there never will be. I'm 33 and I've been listening to her since I was 6, when "The wild heart" came out. I'm a music freak, to say the least, and I listen to much heavier music these days, but I've never let go of Stevie, I listen to her on a regular basis and she's the only singer who manages to touch something in me, I guess it must be my soul. And for that I love her. She really is something else.
I prefer the way she sings it on the record...she just takes the "lazy road" vocally here, doesn't do all the twists and twirls that in my opinion make the song...
the mac and stevie nicks need i say more? fuckn awesome greatest of all times, i saw them in Denver a few years ago far the greatest concert ive ever been too!
I "loved" this version, and basically everything Stevie did when this video came out in 1988. I was still in my "Stevie can do no wrong" phase of Stevie worship. With time, and more scrutiny, I came to see Stevie more realistically. In the end, I still am a huge Stevie fan. When I do listen to music now, it is generally her's or Fleetwood Mac's. The music they made is so superior to contemporary music it isn't even funny. I hope Stevie provides us all with more music in the future.
@thewhoissuperb24 People arguing over what era has the best music, sound like complete and utter morons. Don't you realize that your parents had the same argument with your grandparents, that you'll be having with your kids? Whatever you grew up with, will be paramount in your life. Plain and simple. It would make more sense to argue about whether the light stays on in your fridge after you close it, than it does to argue over what music is the best.
@totallytommy Exactly! So I put a webcam in our fridge. It will send me a text if the light should come on with the door closed. My music is much better than my kids'.
@thewhoissuperb24 The thing is that Stevie has something known as TALENT and whenever she's on stage she has this unique attitude that only a few people have. I love Stevie and I never heard any song by lady gaga or whatever her name is
she wrote this song after hearing little red corvette- very similar chord structure but prince was ok with it- he set up the sequencer which really makes this song. christine didn use a sequencer on this version..and billy burnette and rick vito do a nice job with the intro-
I think they were all high as weasels here but what are concerts for anyway.
a solid A.
and I would lick stevie and christine even today....well yes I would.
I am sorry, but this version is simply awful. It is just Mick trying to appease Stevie & horn in on her solo fame by getting her to record this with Fleetwood Mac so he could release it in a way that made him money.
i sat behind her and her posse at an A s game in89 she was drunk as hell but sure looked good as hell shame she got in the twinkies but what a voice makes me want to have sex.

Fleetwood mac is not just awsome but iconic the harmony is only fleetwood mac. Watch the videos where Stevie and Lindsay are in the same picture there is always 1 looking at the other.
First off...you can tell it's a concert from the 80's. The laserlights and the hair!
Secondly...Stevie looks amazing (and still today looks great).
Finally...yes her voice is the subject of debate. Personally I love her voice; You hear a Stevie Nicks song, you KNOW it's her. Most of today's artists within any given genre of music sound alike; You can't tell them apart.
This may not have been her best performance of the song, but I'd still listen to it over most of what's on the radio today!
She is a Goddess. She doesnt have to move around the stage too much because she knows who she is. Beautiful. She hastnt changed much in 30 years. In her interviews she is always sincere about herself. I love her and her songs!!!!
That is an opinion........ I think Stevie looks stunning here. Perhaps you are failing to take into account that her look was VERY MUCH the style in 1987. I think she looks absolutely beautiful...... I agree with "thewhoissuperb24" people can look @ current artists like Lady Gaga (whom I do like) and say: "oh, look how beautiful" but look back @ older styles and think it is awful, but apparently they are just to young to REMEMBER when it was looked at in the same was as today's trends!
that was a show right there. how cool

@thewhoissuperb24 ....pphhttt...don't ruin Stevie's name by mentioning those jokes in the same sentence with her name.
They CERTAINLY haven't earned the right to be considered anything more than studio tricks
