I'm not sure of the story behind the song, but to me whenever I hear it now, I think of a friend that passed away 4 years ago. I miss him very much and I always wait, hoping to dream of him at night and I wonder if he is happy in a 'floating city' :)

@Ganonfanon Finally, someone with enough common sense. If anything this was her most direct era, where she was still 'trying to fit a circle into a square' as was put i believe in the WTSF interviews. She became more abstract and conceptual in her approach later in her career and it's fit in quite beautifully with her unique song structures. The beautiful thing is even though this recording is one of her earliest, you can still feel her energy seeping through.....And yes, duh..'aliens'... ;)

LOVE THIS SONG! Where did you find a version that maintains volume right to the end (or did you do that yourself)? Mine starts a slow fade early. By the end it's a whisper. It's so nice to hear that last bit without having to slowly crank the volume on my stereo or car player, only to have to slam it back down quickly so as to not get blasted by the first piano notes of Heart Attack at 23!

All I have to say, is that this is unbelievable. I actually just discovered the infamous "Y Kant Tori Read" album, and this is my favorite track on the record. I didn't expect the video to actually have lip-synced segments with the lyrics. THAT had to take a long time, and the effort was well worth it. :)

Thank you, flyingsorcha. It's so wonderful to hear the positive feedback you guys have given me. This song means a great deal to me, and I love it more than any song I've ever heard. I was truly inspired when making this video, and I'm glad it came together well. Someone once told me they thought the song was about aliens, but I believe the lyrics have a MUCH deeper meaning than that. It's certainly open to interpretation since Tori never explained in print what the song is really about.

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. Personally, I just think that if someone makes a compilation video (non-photo montage), the only singing shown should be attempted to match (lipsynched) the singing in the song. Otherwise it just looks strange.
