Since 2007 when strong winds and currents melted the Arctic dramatically, the ice has been rebuilding itself quite nicely. It is now just one standard deviation point below the mean amount.
If you are just now learning how to measure how thick the sea ice is how do you know its thinner? thinner than what? you just said you didnt know how to measure it before.

they show from 2003-08....not exactly a huge sample set for a geological occurance. a 5 year span isn't even an eye-blink. and i have to wonder why they stopped in 2008 when it's 2011 (unless this is an old video). if you just mentally extrapolate the rate of melting according to this video over 5 years, shouldn't the ice caps have been completely melted by now? which clearly isn't the case and there are even reports of expansion in some areas.

As the polar icecaps melt, "we may have more drought in North America". ? All I here about is flooding world wide. It's rained a heck of a lot here in Ontario, the last few years. Mold growing everywhere. Lots of snow and precipitation in other provinces as well. I know many states in US are flooding. This makes no sense.
The heat is coming from the core of the Earth, which is heating up as the magnetsphere continues to deteriorate. There was a study done on the density of water at different depths near the pole and it got lower as they went deeper because lower salt content means less density; therefore the ice was melting from the bottom up. Web Bots say solar activity will reach never seen before levels March 2012-May 2013, which means rapid Earth core heating.
It is my personal opinion that hydraulic frackering of rock that emits ozone is crazy in the northern half, therefore the ozone hole has been growing. Now that they have started fracking austrailia the ozone hole will grow in the southern half. Google it, its there. Just saying there are more reasons that no one is talking about when they talk global heating on the poles.
