  • Also i don't see how this is sportsmanship trying to kill someone in the ring/cage after you've hurt then with a punch. Sooner or later some count will happen like boxing. It's basically like watching murder. It's like an old tyson fight, now imagine if tyson just continues to punch them in the face while their on the ground hurt...Very sportsmanlike. Like war or something trying to kill them. Look at the reaction of some of the crowd, they like seeing this guy beatin until unconcious. pathetic

  • @Gripmaster3000 it's far more dangerous to get knocked on your ass multiple times and be allowed to continue. in mma a guy may get dropped once and take a few additional punches whereas the boxer would be able to continue and take more punishment for 1-11 rounds. boxer cliff etienne was once knocked down 7 times in a fight and allowed to continue. that's a lot of damage. that would never happen in mma. statistics don't lie. there have never been any series injuries or deaths in major mma.

  • @Gripmaster3000 When Manny Pacquiao knocked down Ricky Hatton the first time in round 1 of their Boxing title fight, Hatton was given his 10 seconds to recover and after continuing to fight he was knocked down again with a power shot to the forehead. Instead of the fight being finished off with a few more shots after the knock-down, Hatton was repeatedly battered in the head and body 73 times for the duration of the round, and was finally knocked unconscious in the second. This is one ex.

  • @vlad27guerrero Thats boxing punching on the feet. While on the ground punches inflict much more power because of their head right on the ground. Ricky Hatton wasn't Unconcious i just watched it. All that was done on the feet and he was defending. It's alot easier to defend while you have legs vses in mma on the ground having someone pound your head in. Much more power into the shots and your trying to shut their brain down. There is nothing that causes you to stop cept the ref. which is 2 late

  • @Gripmaster3000 as of nov. of 2007 there have been 1,465 deaths in the history of boxing including 146 deaths in the 1950's and 68 deaths during the 2000's. not to mention there have been 751 deaths in the U.S. and 93 in the state on new york alone. i'm not criticizing boxing because i love it also but proof of safety is in the facts. if you're gonna get paid millions of dollars per fight then you have to be willing to take the risks that go with the sport. as far as safety it's not even close

  • @vlad27guerrero How old is boxing? ovre 100 years correct? What do you think MMA's numbers will look like when it's actually been around somewhere near that long? And what do you mean 1465 deaths? In the ring? After? Years and years after? I see people getting knocked out cold just about every mma event. Is doesn't happen that often in boxing. Either it's the gloves or hitting on the ground. I'd go with the ground hits.

  • @Gripmaster3000 these are all inside the ring deaths. i also just told you there were 68 deaths in the LAST DECADE as compard to ZERO in mma. case closed.

  • @vlad27guerrero cause isn't closed. The UFC is the only promotion that's been solid and been around for more then 10 years, but not much more then 10 years. SO theres not enough time to compare the to, not enough research. And i don't see how you can't argue that hits after you're unconscious don't do more damage to your brain. this happens in mma alot more often then boxing. Think about that shit, getting knocked unconscious while your on the ground then getting hit 2-3 more times. thats worse

  • @Gripmaster3000 the ufc has been around since 1993. since the early 2000's mma has exploded all over the world. there have been more fights in the last ten years than ever. during this current mma explosion during the last ten years there have been zero deaths, i repeat ZERO. during that SAME SPAN there have been 68....68! IN RING boxing DEATHS. it makes no sense that a sport with that many deaths is safer than a sport with ZERO. i'm a boxing fan. but it's dillusional to think that way.

  • man they really need to implement a mandatory time out from shots to the back of the head. its like rocking someone with a legal shot then kicking them in the nuts a couple times and then finishing them off. an illegal blow is an illegal blow

  • Not only that most of those hits are to the back of the head

  • Brain damage baby. Notice boxers have a career of like 60 fights or so? they take little damage.

MMA fighters mostly max 20s of fights. some less and suffer damage. 6 hits after he'd ko'd. Hits to your brain after your unconsious to more damage.

  • @Gripmaster3000 mma is much safer. there are boxing deaths every year and nobody has ever died in regulated/sanctioned mma events. mma fighters have multiple ways to defend themselves through wrestling and grappling whereas a boxer has to stand there and take punishment using only his hands and movement to defend himself. in many mma fights strikes are never even landed to the head throughout the entire fight (lyoto machida). not to mention the fact a boxer can continue as long as he gets up.

  • MMA is not safer. In boxing theres rules to protect u if ur hurt.take a knee, towel 10 count to get up. In mma u better tap or do something to tell the ref because u'll get hit until ur unconcious and maybe more to come. Now do u think it causes more brain damage getting hit while your unconcious vses awake? I've been watching mma for years now and i have seen ALOT of people hit while unconcious so far. u try to tell me its safer cause of deathcounts...when boxing is over 100 years old.

  • For one this is old as fuck. for two he was out on the second blow.

i think its a TKO, but hey a knockouts a knockout.
