  • better quality IN ANY WAY

    watch?v=RPeRTOlCbzE

    please support the official release

  • brings back memories! simply awesome!

  • This is deep.

  • I got this movie from an old friend of mine on a VHS when I was 14 or 15 and I couldn't quit watching this movie, along with Akira and Perfect Blue. I still have the VHS of GITS as a matter of fact. It's the special edition with the 30 minute making-of documentary at the end of the movie.

  • @lilrockercutie2005

You should get the 2-Disc DVD or Blu-Ray

  • Where does the newborn go from here? The net is vast and infinite.

  • This piece, the whole music, was ahead of its time....extraordinary, never expected this from U2, I understimated them...simply brilliant

  • A lonesome soul

    In an old black boat

    A lonesome frown

    What a way to go

    Chasing though

    The strings to hold

In in an old black coat

    A lonesome soul

    A lonesome soul

    A lonesome soul

  • @Ajmauritz If those lyrics don't describe Motoko to a tee, i don't know what does. In a way, it touches each person involved in Section 5. Masterful movie, series and patiently awaiting the 3rd release of this series. Still going strong and like the description says under the movie...still ahead of its time.

  • @shioriryukaze Ghost in the Shell is considered a classic! This movie got me hooked on anime! I have both seasons and the movies!

  • @BlackAngel7980 my first anime that I watched was Nausica: Valley of the Wind. A Miazaki classic :) I've been collecting anime since I was 16.

  • @BlackAngel7980

what do you think is better the seasons or the movie?

  • @Cokoholicar Honestly...both. But if I had to choose...Season 2 was my favorite.

  • @BlackAngel7980

How old were you when you saw this movie? i was 14 sixteen years ago after being impressed by Akira, i saw great reviews on this even on the city's library local internet and of course magazines, i bought this on my 15th birthday that year with Akira and left an impression on me.

  • @Johnlindsey289 I was about 14 when i saw it. thats how i got hooked on anime

  • @BlackAngel7980

Did you also watched Akira at that age like me? and did you grew up with stuff like Unico 1 & 2, Jack and The Beanstalk (Anime 1975), Warriors of the Wind (the 1985 New World butchery of Nausicaa), Mysterious Cities of Gold, The Last Unicorn, Thundercats, Flight of Dragons etc.?

  • @shioriryukaze

Is there any ongoing plan about a 3rd movie or, in the case of the tv series, a 3rd season?

  • @mptyyegdlc There are rumors, but the problem is who will take it? Funimiation is the only one putting anime out anymore. Wish more companies would step up and put out quality anime. To answer the 3rd movie, that has been released. Its called Solid State Society. You find out that the major is suspected in some conspiracy, but she is still rogue. togusa has taken her place as head and this movie i think takes place 2 or 3 years after GITS :Innocence. Wonderful music and movie by the by.

  • @shioriryukaze Stand-Alone Complex is not the same universe as the Oshii films.

  • @mptyyegdlc i would love to see a third season!

  • @shioriryukaze Section 5? :P They're all in Public Security Section 9.

  • @Capric0rn Did i ever say that it was section five? someone asked me what track was playing when they were deep diving.... and I said track five.. sorry for the slip up if I did

  • @shioriryukaze I quote "If those lyrics don't describe Motoko to a tee, i don't know what does. In a way, it touches each person involved in Section 5." - That's what you said :P And no problem :)

  • @Capric0rn smh.... Inserting fail plug......now :)

  • This really fits into Ghost in the Shell, and I'm surprised it wasn't in the original Japanese soundtrack. I mean, the percussion sounds like Kenji Kawai and even those baby glitch voices sound like Major Kusanagi.

  • i wish this song was on itunes. :(

  • forgive me if this sounds out of the subject , but can anybody please give me the name of that song were Motoko is submerged into the ocean and she floats back up like a mirror and batou is in the boat. I'm talking bout that scene

  • @JAYCZero not off the subject.... the original OST actually kind of follows the movie so go to amazon.com and look up the track list. I know virtual crime is the song playing when motoko and batou is talking before ghost city (track five) and so it could be access or nightstalker. wonderful ost

  • i WISH a live action movie of GITS would hurry up and get underway... i think ridley scott would be a perfect director for it.... anybody agree?

  • @mirandy2007 Ridley Scott,James Cameron and Steven Spielberg would be my choices.

  • This song is excellent.

  • I was kind disappointed that I couldn't find it on the original soundtrack, now I know why. Cool stuff :)

  • Its on the passengers soundtrack..its U2 with Brian Eno and this song is about 15 years old..way before its time, thats why U2 is Brilliant

  • I'd say Brian Eno's brilliance trumps Bono and the gang, but whatev :-)

  • God, I wish the Major would beat the daylights out of me, then make love to me, then marry me. I really wish I'd seen this movie before The Matrix, instead of the other way around.

  • I feel like shit for not watching this movie earlier. :(

  • @crowbarblue same here XO

  • listen to the other songs ive uploaded my favourites! hf

  • brilliant song...for a very fun movie

  • Excellent song to a classic anime movie.

  • killer tune

  • It's about damn time somebody uploaded this on youtube. XD Believe it or not, I've been looking for this since "Whisper of the Beast" came out, that famous Naruto AMV.

    Lame, huh? XD

  • I know it's not the original ending song that Oshii intended for GitS... but god, I do love this song. And it does fit Ghost in the Shell. Maybe it'd be better off in Stand Alone Complex than the movies, but still...

  • It's just the ending that fits with the english dub version. Oshii never puts in english songs in his own work.

  • Um... have you ever seen "GitS 2"??

  • Oh wow - my mistake, I meant MAJORITY of his works. I know the ending of GITS2 had a nice english song at the end.

Yeah - I've not only seen it all (GITS - movies, series and read mange), I own it all.

  • coolio XD

  • MY favorite part is from 3:20 onwards music wise, thanks for posting.

  • same here

  • Weird how I just thought about that track and you posted it at the same day. LOL!
