if you think gears should be all about shotgun and no rifle you are completely retarded. Shotguns have their role but i hate people or even friends who as soon as the match starts they roll and pull out shotguns. It shows you have a lack of skill. you will probably be a noob that runs into people trying to get oneshots. To counter this are rifles where you can shoot from a distance to keep him away.
Its bs, they should un-nerf the sawed off. Its the same crap with the gnasher. Plus your gonna say a shot gun that can drop you fron a mile away compared to a shotgun that you have to be pretty close to get a kill. Its bs.
@pirata450 gears is a tactical team based shooter, rifles are an important part of that game play, just because gears 1 had annoying last second multiplayer that only favored shotguns doesnt mean that gears 3 should have that too. epic games did an excellent job at making a balanced multiplayer and it shouldnt be ruined because people like you want to sprint into the middle of the map and roll back and forth until your blind fire shotgunning finally hits someone after the 10th shell.

every gun in this game is balanced to the point that they all counter a wep and are countered by one. burst counters retro which counters SoS which counters gnasher which counters lancer which counters burst. its a perfect cycle yet all you see is people that are to stupid to adapt and use the counter of the weapon that countered you. all they want to do as spam gnasher and hope for kills. its pretty sad when you think of it.
You know I'm SO happy about this nerf :) as a gears veteran it got old fast how the sawed-off had more range than a gnasher! The only complaint i ever had was the range now that its patched Gears 3 for me=PERFECTION!!!!

And couldn't down an enemy b4 they got back into cover, its a cover based shooter that requires alot of close combat cause the game would be stupid if 2 teams sat on diff sides just lancering then ducking when they got injured but some Simple minded Vets now believe the Gnasher is what the game is all about, but all the good teams use ARS and switch at the right moment
Gears is not all about one gun, being a Gears player for years I can honestly and unbiased say that the Gnasher is NOT Gears of War! The gun plays a big role but there's so many more weapons to use for different situations. If your a Pro player and you run the whole map using this 1 gun in any and all situations your are simple minded and limited. ARS are a big role in the game now but they always should've been epic just messed up all the other guns and they were to weak -

Here's a question, you don't have to answer it, Swords. Im just curious, how old are you? I plan on playing games well into my adult life and i want to reassure myself that this will be normal.
When the game first came out, I defended the Sawed-Off through hell and high water. I'd tell people that if you let them get that close to you, then it was your fault that they killed you. That with the range it had, it was ridiculously easy to counter...that was until I saw the proof video that it had a longer gib range than the Gnasher, and was actually VERY effective outside of melee range. Cliffy B said himself that that was never intended to be that way, and a mistake has been rectified.
Funny, people bitch about retro lancer, sawed off, gnasher, boomshot, one shot, digger, etc... Seems to me that since all of the guns are OP, that the game is absolutely pretty balanced. LOL

RANKED - its because people dont run around. they stay still much more and play smart. they take control and each monitor a certain area. and its mostly long range.
It's this map (Overpass), Mercy, and Sandbar that are a real bitch. All have great visuals. However, Overpass and Sanbar have that midpoint in the map that are the main point of focus where if one team controls it, it's extremely tough to clear them out. Mercy has the church where it might be even tougher because the team inside has walls protecting them.
the only thing I don't like about ranked is being backed out after each game and have to do the whole match makign system quick match I just go match to match with no waiting. The skill level from ranked to quick match is almost even not a huge difference having 1-3 other people in your party makes both very easy to handle
I used the sawed off and didn't really notice anything, but I did miss some shots that I would usually hit. I think you should upload horde, but that's just me
Playing Overpass solo is absolute bullshit and the new weapon change on the map doesn't help if you ask me. Whatever team gets up top just straight dominates if they are competent enough to do a little team shotting. Now, it is totally possible to make an organized push with nades and so forth and even the new boomshot but when you play solo...Teammate: Organized push? Herp derp. I liked mortar/hammer being on the map before at least when playing solo...makes more sense than Boom/Torque imo.
I would definitely dig some horde, beast mode on first attempt, for me at least, was a pure comedy act trying to figure it out. But I would love some horde!
Gow1 is still the best gears. Gow2 was okay but very laggy. Gow3- Rifles are overpowered, Snipers are bad, all the maps are made for lancer fags, Gnashers are underpowered and of course the sawed off bullshit.
The only problem I had with the SoS was the gib range, so I'm a very happy man now. For future videos beast mode would be fun to watch I think. If you post horde maybe just post highlights instead of the whole thing, otherwise it might be a tad boring.
Let's get some beast and horde personally I play those more because I rage too much on multiplayer when I play by myself. But I love going into random matches and play some horde or beast (easy hail Mary's on longer maps like thrashball). It's a lot of good fun and cool to watch, but I can't find any youtubers that post much of them =(.
Swordsman thanks telling me they nerf the sawed-off but still they kinda make it still sucky because the range and the spread is still random but they should nerf the gnasher long rage damage but i like to see some horde videos but u never get the chance to play horde then you are missing out.
Beast mode on insane would be cool to watch (you get the savage theron guard if you complete it without fail on all 12 waves). It would be nice to see your strategy and planning to complete this. Me and my friends (four of us in total) made it till wave 12 and failed T__T.
I don't get why people say the sawed-off is overpowered the Gnasher beats it in literally everything, from range to damage, plus Cliffy B is right it's mainly your fault for letting him be so up close.
This nerf may be a step in the right direction for the sawed off, but I really don't notice that much of a difference. What I would like to see them do is rebuild it if you will. I want to see it have more gnasher like properties. Tighten up the spread up a bit, increase the range a bit, as well as make it a two shot weapon. I want to see the sawed off become more than just a fire one shot then run my ass off while I reload weapon.
Its so stupid that they nerfed it, it took a long ways to get them and the long reload time. Sorry but i think its just N00bs that complained! Destroyed my fav gun in the game (and i didn't camp with it in fact i rushed with it!)

Those stats kind of surprise me because I've a totally had a different experience playing in ranked games and it's gotten to the point where I don't play ranked anymore.

@IplayXBllol It should have Gibbed further than the Gnasher could, it's one shot. Gnasher kills across the map all the time. I'll follow people around blasting them in the back and they'll 180 insta kill me and keep on going like I never fired a round. I chased a guy hit him with every round from my gnasher and he didn't even go down. He switches to his, moves to the same range I was shooting him from, and one shots me without an active reload.

Just cause it has 1 shot does not mean it should gib further then the Gnasher, it takes out multiple people and with the lack of no aim required pretty much.
@IplayXBllol It really wasn't any more or less effective than the Gnasher. It's just that Gears vets didn't like the change. And you rarely got multis without being owned by a gnasher. I'm saying the gnashers were the problem for me, not the sawed off. I could shoot people all day with the gnasher and they would one shot me left and right regardless of range or active reload. And gnasher has more shots, so why should it gib at a further range, that's absurdly counter intuitive.
@xJMan240x I know it has more shots, and people used that against the Gnasher as its pro, but the DBS looked good on Paper, it played out wrongly and got nerfed (trust me though it still gets you from a good distance) its just more inconsistent. I also have to put 2-3 bullets into people in close range with the Gnasher, but if that guy had a DBS I would have been dead, cause he only needs that one shot.

@lilsparkyx14 i disagree 100% and ill tell you why. In GoW1 the shotgun pretty much reigned supreme in online matches, it was really good. In GoW2 the shotgun was pretty terrible. GoW3 finally managed to balance the shotguns with the ARs perfectly (i dont think the Sawed Off was OP, i just thought it was a little annoying). Gears is a game where you need to be good with every weapon to be a good player, you cant just use an AR all the time, that just means youre not playing how youre supposed to

OP Shotguns? Have you played GEARS 1? If so you should know the Lancer was weak sauce and nobody use hammer burst. Then when gears 2 came they made the gnasher shoot marshmallows (metaphorically speaking) then was later increased because their fans from game one complained. Shotgun takes skills to use. Gears 3 Gnashesr is fine, you have to have accuracy to kill someone. You might night see it but you have to find away to get around the stopping power.

Gears is not all about one gun, being a Gears player for years I can honestly and unbiased say that the Gnasher is NOT Gears of War! The gun plays a big role but there's so many more weapons to use for different situations. If your a Pro player and you run the whole map using this 1 gun in any and all situations your are simple minded and limited. ARS are a big role in the game now but they always should've been epic just messed up all the other guns and they were to weak -

well so I wasted my MS points buying g a skin for my sawed off, but why complain? anyone can use it so its a level field? so lets start nerfing all the power weapons too, its just people moaning cos they get killed a lot, like i did with the sawed off, so I just started using it myself,bam! alls equal again.if someones better than me at say lancer I don't say "wah! unfair" I just change my load-out & tactics, after all that's wast competitive game-play is>? just my opinion,So Thanks cry babies!

When the game first came out, I defended the Sawed-Off through hell and high water. I'd tell people that if you let them get that close to you, then it was your fault that they killed you. That with the range it had, it was ridiculously easy to counter...that was until I saw the proof video that it had a longer gib range than the Gnasher, and was actually VERY effective outside of melee range. Cliffy B said himself that that was never intended to be that way, and a mistake has been rectified.

It's this map (Overpass), Mercy, and Sandbar that are a real bitch. All have great visuals. However, Overpass and Sanbar have that midpoint in the map that are the main point of focus where if one team controls it, it's extremely tough to clear them out. Mercy has the church where it might be even tougher because the team inside has walls protecting them.

the only thing I don't like about ranked is being backed out after each game and have to do the whole match makign system quick match I just go match to match with no waiting. The skill level from ranked to quick match is almost even not a huge difference having 1-3 other people in your party makes both very easy to handle

Playing Overpass solo is absolute bullshit and the new weapon change on the map doesn't help if you ask me. Whatever team gets up top just straight dominates if they are competent enough to do a little team shotting. Now, it is totally possible to make an organized push with nades and so forth and even the new boomshot but when you play solo...Teammate: Organized push? Herp derp. I liked mortar/hammer being on the map before at least when playing solo...makes more sense than Boom/Torque imo.

Gow1 is still the best gears. Gow2 was okay but very laggy. Gow3- Rifles are overpowered, Snipers are bad, all the maps are made for lancer fags, Gnashers are underpowered and of course the sawed off bullshit.

The only problem I had with the SoS was the gib range, so I'm a very happy man now. For future videos beast mode would be fun to watch I think. If you post horde maybe just post highlights instead of the whole thing, otherwise it might be a tad boring.

Let's get some beast and horde personally I play those more because I rage too much on multiplayer when I play by myself. But I love going into random matches and play some horde or beast (easy hail Mary's on longer maps like thrashball). It's a lot of good fun and cool to watch, but I can't find any youtubers that post much of them =(.

Beast mode on insane would be cool to watch (you get the savage theron guard if you complete it without fail on all 12 waves). It would be nice to see your strategy and planning to complete this. Me and my friends (four of us in total) made it till wave 12 and failed T__T.

This nerf may be a step in the right direction for the sawed off, but I really don't notice that much of a difference. What I would like to see them do is rebuild it if you will. I want to see it have more gnasher like properties. Tighten up the spread up a bit, increase the range a bit, as well as make it a two shot weapon. I want to see the sawed off become more than just a fire one shot then run my ass off while I reload weapon.

I'll follow people around blasting them in the back and they'll 180 insta kill me and keep on going like I never fired a round. I chased a guy hit him with every round from my gnasher and he didn't even go down. He switches to his, moves to the same range I was shooting him from, and one shots me without an active reload.

@IplayXBllol It really wasn't any more or less effective than the Gnasher. It's just that Gears vets didn't like the change. And you rarely got multis without being owned by a gnasher. I'm saying the gnashers were the problem for me, not the sawed off. I could shoot people all day with the gnasher and they would one shot me left and right regardless of range or active reload. And gnasher has more shots, so why should it gib at a further range, that's absurdly counter intuitive.

@xJMan240x I know it has more shots, and people used that against the Gnasher as its pro, but the DBS looked good on Paper, it played out wrongly and got nerfed (trust me though it still gets you from a good distance) its just more inconsistent. I also have to put 2-3 bullets into people in close range with the Gnasher, but if that guy had a DBS I would have been dead, cause he only needs that one shot.

@lilsparkyx14 i disagree 100% and ill tell you why. In GoW1 the shotgun pretty much reigned supreme in online matches, it was really good. In GoW2 the shotgun was pretty terrible. GoW3 finally managed to balance the shotguns with the ARs perfectly (i dont think the Sawed Off was OP, i just thought it was a little annoying). Gears is a game where you need to be good with every weapon to be a good player, you cant just use an AR all the time, that just means youre not playing how youre supposed to

OP Shotguns? Have you played GEARS 1? If so you should know the Lancer was weak sauce and nobody use hammer burst. Then when gears 2 came they made the gnasher shoot marshmallows (metaphorically speaking) then was later increased because their fans from game one complained. Shotgun takes skills to use. Gears 3 Gnashesr is fine, you have to have accuracy to kill someone. You might night see it but you have to find away to get around the stopping power.
