I love anything by the stunning Corinne Drewery and Swing Out Sister, but this has to be among my three favorite songs of the 1980s. It takes me back to the tunes of Burt Bacharach, John Barry, Henry Mancini, Quincy Jones and Michel Legrand of the 1960s.
It is one of the most beautiful songs I've heard. What I felt when I first hear is indescribable. Music, like pictures on the video, has a lot of kaleidoscopic. The final composition of this leaves me the same feeling of some other SOS songs (where in the world, something every day, etc.) They are different from the rest of the song, beautiful, and the feeling remains that the theme end could extend slightly more.
If I'm not mistaken, this is on the last track of the album. I really missed it. Eversince my original cassette was damaged,I didn't hear the songs for quite many years. Thanks to you, Youtube. These songs are "precious " to me.
I love all of her music. This video however left me feeling a little nauseated. Too much stuff going on for my eyes to follow and I'm an avid video gamer! LOL ( ^ _ ^ ) Around mid 2:00 (ish) the theme changes to somewhat of a James Bond type theme.
Pure ART. This is the most beautiful music video ever made (though you can hardly tell on this low quality version) - and for an unreleased instrumental!! Each rapid movement is absolutely exquisite. My favorite moment, besides kicking the exploding dance ball, has to be adjusting the bustier in the final seconds. Just lovely - even without Corinne. Amazing.
so influenced by burt b and the 60's....great instrumental from a great album..reminds me of those old movies with the italian sports cars whipping through the mountains...great transition too swing at the end
on the dot. fast driving along the mountainside 60's scene...that's what I imagine first hearing this song. Only SOS music can make me go daydream of happy-cloudy-days-wide-skies-young world the 60s.
This album is my favourite of SOS. The production values and arrangements are really top notch. I really like Somewhere...too but the production doesn't seem quite as good.
This a very good album, due to the fact that the third original member and drummer, Martin Jackson, played on and produced most of the arrangement. Their sound is not the same. I still like them. Corrine is an excellant vocalist!!!!
Good Point. They don't have the same sound, the horns and syncapated beats are pretty much gone. But they are still excellent and SOS's music keeps changing and keeping us guessing,.....what kind of sound will they have next. Love Live SOS !
great observation neil. It also reminds me of the theme song to the movie "The Russia House" with another beauty, Michelle Pfeiffer and the great Sean Connery.
The best band there is for last 25 plus years! PERIOD!

In my opinion...the best SOS instrumental of them all.
The emotion in this cinematic piece is at its; melodramatic finest.
The video is an acid trip though. Perfect, more or less.

What a song! It transported me on a whirlwind trip, back to the headiness of my youth....

What is it about that song that takes us both back to our youths? I'm 48 and this song takes me back to mine as well.

The last few seconds of the song sounds like "Windmills Of Your Mind".

We'll take your word for it moona011.That would be inkeeping with the songs title.
From about 2:30 onwards, this is so James Bondesque. Long Live SOS!

Can't quite figure out the significance of the 3 way look of the airplanes at the 1:56
mark... it's quite different. Maybe like looking thru a Kaleidoscope.

Are you sure about M Jackson arrangement. I thought they hired an oldschool arranger which really, for me, made their perfect album
