weller has always connected with his fans since the jam, like he would let fans come to sound check for free. as u can see here the security say to the crowe no autographs as weller probs had to hurry to the next radio station or studio.

I bumped into Weller in the crowd at a reggae festival and he was good as gold spending ages signing autographs, having photos taken, chatting to fans. And he owes us nothing in my opinion. It's not like we've made him famous out of the goodness of our hearts, it's because he's made music that's touched peoples lives. I'm thankful just for that myself.

I think people forget somewhere along the way that sometimes a guy needs a break, no star is ever what we expect them to be. I feel sorry for those who waited for him, but Paul Weller didn't ask you to wait outside for him, he was probably up to his neck in work.
