  • The 00-02 silverado interiors are way better than the 03-present, its almost as if GM is going backwards in terms of interior comfort and appeal.

  • dam hes running the truck without fuel

  • its allot quieter compared to the power stroke and the cummins

  • lol at people arguing drive what engine you want

  • Hey Kyle,

I was wondering if you could do a side-by-side comaprison of a powerstroke, duramax and cummins trucks? If you could that would be cool

  • @my2006SS you cant really compare them easily. The engines are all change alot over they years.

  • @powerstroke279 He could compare say 3 2005 trucks, or 3 2012 trucks.

  • compared to the cummins 5.9 this thing has slow acceleration

  • @TheSakul08 your kidding, right?

  • This sounds amazing

  • I wish this was 4wd. That is the only thing i would change on this

  • real men sit behind the legendary bowtie!

  • @feltphoto1 ya and not behind some sideways oval that says "ford" in fancy lettering :P

  • You have a dream job right there. Just testing cars and checking out all the extras and stuff. There are tons of cars i wouldnt want to buy but I'd like to test drive and take a look at interior and stuff.

  • That's a very nice truck. I like everything about it. I especially like the Chevy symbols on the tailights.

  • How much bigger is this compared to the 1500 Silverado or Tahoe of the same year?

  • @JacobR343 only difference is the height

  • @JacobR343 Height wise, its like 4" or so taller. Its about a foot and a half to 2 feet longer. The GVWR is also about 1000lbs heavier. But same width.

  • 0-60 is about 10 seconds.

  • @ParkerMHarless Thats not bad considering the weight of the truck. 2011 Duramax LML trucks run 0-60 in about 7.5 seconds.

  • I WANT IT :d

    I love this truck

  • es el mejor carro q hay yo tengo uno

  • @cima151 not to be rude or anything but can you speak english please?

  • @djflames24 he said

"its the best truck their is and i have one"

  • @ThatCheetosGuy79 thank you for the translation

  • @djflames24 anytime and have a Happy Thanksgiving

  • My bad type o gmc is the only manufactuor similar to chevy that i would buy.

  • LOL at the tail lights

  • I like how Chevy brags about their engine being dated. Guess what, its not a match for the Ford 6.7

  • @yellowcow13 somebody give this guy the dumbass award.

  • @The6footmidget How? And that one was given to the GM marketing guy who thought telling everyone that the 6.6 is dated would be a great idea. 10yr old Isuzu design lollololol.

  • you just need to put camper mirrors on and it would be nice to have roof lamps

  • Yeah cool, my ford f-250 just got taken to the dealer for a check up and they said it still runs like new! On the the other hand the duracrap is still sitting in my back yard with all the parts rusting up! FUCK YOU CHEVY!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • @goku180000 a properly maintained anything will run forever

  • @juicebox6666 True that. Even well maintained Chrysler Intrepids with the 2.7 V6 motors have ran for 200k+ miles.

  • Im a Ford guy. But the Duramax is a great engine. Only a fool would disagree. All the arguing is pointless. All engines have their pros and cons.

  • @mk37mgteboy agree im a ford man myself and i still give respect to dodge and chevy, but the only product that is similar to chevy is gmc. Dodge im just to ify bout it. Heard alot bout the cars, but the old plymouth and dodges those where true american cars. Not these new german dodges. DODGE GO BACK TO THE OLD WAYS!!

  • ford is not jus a horrible truck for anything the style is just ugly man my opinion look at chevy and ford chevy has a unique style no other truck has dodge hahahaah man i rather walk than drive a dodge

  • the duramax is 100 times better than the junky old powerstroke

  • @FIREALARM2009 Yeah the duracrap is currently sucking the powerstrokes 6.7 liter sized penis

  • @goku180000 And let me tell you something, we bought the exact same truck, ON OUR WAY HOME, IT DROPPED A VALVE, and ford wouldnt fix it, FUCK YOU FORD!!!!!!!!!1

  • @ChevyMan984 yeah cool, I bought a duracrap and 3 heads blew going 60 on the freeway, SO FUCK YOU CHEVY!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • @goku180000 yeah cool, our chevy has 304,754 miles and still runs, on the other hand, our ford f-350, the one that dropped a valve and we fixed, has 23,243 miles and it wont run without knocking and smoking, FUCK YOU FORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • I don't like the taillights...

  • @b67717 i agree 100%

  • @b67717 the taillight covers are bit outdated...

  • how much do you want for this duramax? im looking for one and this is clean!

  • Can you do some tow truck ones

  • Im in minnesota and i would fly all the way to NC to buy a car from you!

  • actully that 2002 LB7 only has 235hp 500 lb feet of tourque they upgraded it to 300hp 520 lb/ft in 2004

  • @super87cole Where are your facts? Thanks lol we had the 01 and it put out 305 and 520 lol!

  • Comment removed

  • @Lasrkin40 I think he was looking at Ford Specs. If I remember right thats what the old 7.3 Fords made.

  • Comment removed

  • I would have gotten rid of those bucket seats

  • i personaly do not like the interior diesign or extirior of the chevys and fords.... cevy doesnt even sound like a diesel it sounds like shit to me... cummins sounds like a deep roar and manly truck

  • @Dillon2597 cummins sound like a tractor... my lly duramax with 5 inch straight pipe sounds better than any other diesel ive ever heard. and its faster than any stock cummins will ever be

  • @mikenike3311 ya but cummins is the way a diesel sounded since the beginning of diesels

  • @Dillon2597 The cummins jus sounds like a tractor is coming. Duramax has the best sound in the diesels. Powerstroke sounds like junk jus like it performs. Duramax with the Allison is a great combo. Cummins is a really good diesel but sounds like a john deere!

  • @89NAYG have you owned a powerstroke?

sounds like your sterotyping them all from what you've heard, not experienced your self.

  • out of the three, I'd say the Dodge has the best interior look and the best engine. but I love the Ford. just needs a 7.3L or the cummins.

  • My boy friend his dad has the exact same 1 as that

  • @phonechild08 with out the chevy logo on the tale lights

  • these things really have some get up and go

  • I like how you mashed it to pass that stubborn Chrysler 300

  • YUCK>>>>>>>>>>> it's 2WD

  • I like the duramax......but the specs are wack.....a ford powerstroke at this time (7.3) had way more power than this..........GO FORD>>>>>>>>but i do like this truck

  • if it has an allison tranny wouldnt it have a badge for it?

  • @ericpinter29 not necessarily

  • @ericpinter29 they didnt have allison in 01

  • @ericpinter29 actually take that back they didnt have allison 1000's on duramax then

  • Car Connections, nice 1 place where i can get my first car XD :P

  • I love this truck, I want it sooo bad!!!

  • i hate why it has the chevy rear lights

  • @masterhenhen lol i agree but u can always take em off there just covers

  • THIS truck is on eBay (on July 8)! For sale in Kernersville NC with like 40 more miles than here

  • "Just in case the camera is'nt working or your screen is in black and white this vehicle is in fact gold, as I will note multiple times through out this thorough reveiw"

  • my 7th grade science teacher has this exact truck with a manual transmission!!! i loved that thing i want one so bad! but i cant find one in manual :/

  • Hey man could you also do a test drive in a Caddilac Seville from 1998-2004? TY

  • @112Medemblik Ew. No.

  • i love the GMT800 trucks. They are simple yet legendarily reliable, and still has some of that older vehicle character.

  • Brettski94: Well the LB7 first generation duramax usaully gets 18-20 mpg in the city if ur living at a hot climate city. In the highway it approximatley gets around 28-30 mpg depends how fast ur going. My dad drives a 2001 duramax with an Edge juice programmer, air aid intake system and mbrp straight pipe exhaust from the turbo back. My dads truck gets more mpg in the highway bcuz obvisously all the performance parts tht he bought made it breath better. The LB7 are the best fuel economy than th

  • It's quiet at idle and loud at takeoff. O.o

  • I am used to 9k rpm high revving engines that produce top end power but wow this thing only revs to about 4k but oh lord the amount of torque it develops is juicy.

  • Can u test drive an escalade esv platinum 2011 please

  • Boy i want a D Max really bad :)

  • those taillight covers are awesome, but they don't look DOT legal lol.

  • Does anybody know how many mpg does this get? I'm looking in to getting one, and I can't find an estimate on how many mpg it gets. Thanks

  • sweet truck. GM's are definitely the nicest HD truck for the 2002 year. the Cummins and Powerstroke were extremely loud and not as smooth riding as the Duramax.

  • my aunt & uncle have a truck like this, but theirs is green-ish

  • when u going to have a test drive of fx35 infiniti pleaseeee

  • Very nice truck

  • The color is actuly called Light pewter meatalic. I know this because I own a 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 and its this exact color.

  • How far are you from morehead city

  • Dude Kyle i appreciate it so very much. I'm glad to see you choose the 02 Chevy HD. I've always loved that style since my father bought the identical pickup with the 6.0 Vortec. If i lived down in NC i would buy that truck. Just wondering how much do you guys have that truck up for sale for?

  • this truck is awesome and fantastic :D

  • i LOVE diesel trucks

  • seems like you have to turn the wheel a lot more than other cars/trucks. Does it have a wider ratio?

  • OMG!!! 34 GALLON fuel tank... Desiel up here i n Central new york is lik $4.50 an up per gallon... tht wld cost around $153 dolers to fill. an figuring it might get lik 12miles per gallon city ud get only 408 mi. i put tht on in less then a wk. holy shit.

  • @SouthLAndCop333 Youll get better MPG than that. Easy. But many people dont use these as daily drivers, but just work trucks.

  • strange tail lights on that truck but nice vid kyle keep up the good work

  • Looks good for an 02

  • Kyle be driving that truck LIKE A BOSS!

  • Do a video of the white envoy XUV!! please!

  • 34 gallons * $4.20 per gallon diesel here in Florida = $142.80! Shoot me now!

  • which on do you like the best because personally im a cummins fan

  • I hear a duramax in the backround 1:05

  • Why do american cars have such big ass engines?

If you have something like an 6.6 Liter engine in an european car it has around 500 Horsepower or more (Mercedes ML 63 AMG, BMW X5M, BMW X6M, Porsche Cayenne Turbo and so on)

Not hating, just asking. Is there a special reason for?

  • @TheSCR1899 Tradition, mostly. They've just always done it like that.

  • @tgseason12 No it's because it's a diesel and it's meant for torque

  • @TheKoreanX

No, it does not have a big engine BECAUSE it's a diesel (Well, actually, it is a heavier engine because it's a diesel), it has a big engine because it needs a powerful engine. But american cars have often had bigger engines than the european or japanese ones and still no more power. That's just how it is.

  • @tgseason12 Are you being serious? A bigger engine means more power, that's pure common sense. Try pulling a pallet of sod or a big ass boat loaded with bitches in those little 50hp Toyota trucks they drive all over Europe and Japan. It won't even budge, my friend. Everything is bigger in America, and we have trucks like this Chevy with shit tons of fucking torque to get our big stuff where it needs to go.

  • @TheKoreanX Dude, In Japan they can get 400Bhp from a 2 Litre Engine, in the US it takes an elevinty million litre V8 to produce that.

It's called having some Finesse and engineering acumen. Works a lot better that the blunt hammer approach you retarded farmboys try to get a way with.

  • @TheKoreanX

    @TheKoreanX

I agree, but you did say that it has a big engine because it's a diesel (implying that a diesel engine has to be big, which is not true). Furthermore, a bigger engine doesn't necessarily mean mean more power, a turbocharger can give a smaller engine the power of a bigger one.

Sure, this car has a big engine because it needs it, but in general, it's just because how it has always been done.

  • @tgseason12 No, I wasn't saying that about the engine size, I was saying that about the 500 horsepower thing he was saying. And why use a turbocharger on a tiny engine, when you can have a big ass engine AND turbocharger on it? They don't use a big engine solely because it's how it's always been done, they do it because that's how it's SUPPOSED to be done.

  • @TheKoreanX

Haha, well then I just misunderstood you. I just assumed that you responded to his first question, like i did.

The reason the european v8's have more horse power is because they rev more, as you know too.

And whether it's supposed to be done that way or not, who the fuck is to say?

  • @tgseason12 Well I mean for what this truck is meant to do, torque is way more important. As for how it's supposed to be done... I know for a fact that Mitsubishi uses 6 and 8 cylinders in their Fuso busses and commercial trucks. So I guess it's a popular design worldwide also. But it will be a little different since those countries don't have a market for full size trucks like here in America.

  • @TheKoreanX Yup, we agreed for the beginning. I just misunderstood what question you were referring to. American cars in general (I'm talking about in the past, mainly) american cars have had bigger engines.

  • @tgseason12 Oh I see. Yeah, America always had those good ol' big block engines until gas started getting super expensive lol I remember when that shit was like 99 goddamn cents a gallon back in the early 2000's. Now I'm dropping $40 just fill up my little 2.7L V6 Hyundai Tiburon

  • @TheKoreanX

Yeah, we pay about 8 bucks per gallon over here, enjoy your cheap ass gas while it lasts.

  • @tgseason12 lol damn dude that's expensive as shit!

  • @TheKoreanX It was up past 8.50 last month -.-

  • @TheSCR1899 Here in Europe we have steeper taxing (at least where I live) and fuel costs substantially more.

  • @TheSCR1899 Because we want fucking shit tons of torque, max horsepower doesn't mean jack when you're carrying a pallet of sod or a big ass boat loaded with beer. Plus, it's a diesel engine, so it's designed for huge amounts of torque. It's not tradition or any other shit like that.

  • 34 gallon fuel tank.. holy shit... that's like $145.00 for a full tank of gas..

  • @Dsaubt yea but its diesel -.-

  • Great to see more test drives Kyle!

  • The speed limit was 30mph.........!!!

  • Good Truck

  • nice vid!

  • Those taillight covers look kindof goofy imo haha but sweet truck overall

  • i have a gasser version of this truck exactly pretty much. it's worth correcting you about the 'optional' allison tranny, it wasn't optional. gas (6.0s) got the 4L80E and duramaxes got the allison.

  • "Hey everybody, how's it going?"

  • sweeeeeeet I loved It!!<3:D

  • Those taillights are pretty cool.

  • Another Awesome Video Kyle, Starting off, Between the 2002 model Silverado 2500, Ram 2500 and F-250....What are youre honest oppinions? Power, interior, sound and comfort? I am a chevy fan through and through just havent driven a duramax. Too badd it doesnt have the much more powerfull LB7 Duramax from 2006 model year. Thanks.

  • @MrChevyman95 I more of a ford guy, I like the ford f-250 better. It is more stylish........ opposed to that the powerstroke comparable to this one, the 7.3 p-stroke has/had way more power than a duramax....... I've always had ford and will continue to.

  • @MrChevyman95 this has the lb7.... lb7 was the first then in 04.5 came the lly. In 06 they switched to a different lly that basically was the same as the lbz just lower power. The lbz came in 06.5. After that was the LMM and now the LML

  • @Hemihappy Thanks for the clarification. I always fuck that up.

  • @MrChevyman95 2001-2004 LB7 Duramax 300HP/520TQ

    2004-2006 LLY Duramax 310HP/605TQ

    2006-2007 LBZ Duramax 360HP/650TQ

    2007.5-2010 LMM Duramax 365HP/660TQ

    2011 LML Duramax 397HP/765TQ

They are also coming out with a 4.5L Duramax for the 1/2 ton Silverados and Sierras. (LMK Duramax)

  • @89NAYG they've been saying that for a while now, i first saw it in the suburban 2500hd z71 diesel concept. i really wish they'd go back to diesels in the half tons. Thanks man, yea i always get my gen's messed up.

  • @89NAYG the 4.5L was put on indefinite hold while gm was going through bankruptcy... i havent seen anything about it for a long time

  • rear lights hahaha. good review though Kyle,

  • i know, just thought id say.

  • I enjoy your family dealership reviews

  • great video,more trucks please.love the sound

  • my mechanic says when the oil pressure gague goes to full when u rev it, it has severe engine oil leakage. just an fyi. my buick engine died of this.

  • @MrRichierich1990 Its a diesel

  • @deeman52586 ... and what does being a Diesel have to do with oil leakage?

  • @ratmtbola its what diesels do

  • @NICKLADD No they don't, I own a Diesel myself ...

  • @ratmtbola maybe yours is the broken one

  • @NICKLADD What the hell are you talking about? Doesn't seem like you have any idea about Diesels.

  • @MrRichierich1990 hes gotta be wrong, ive seen so many vehicles do that, its because the oil pump is engine driven so as rpms go up the pressure goes up

  • @whatthehallbetch He is *kind of* right. On a lot of engines, the location of the oil pressure sending unit is such that if the engine sludge up and plugs the pick up for oil it will peg the oil pressure gauge at the max. A cold engine is going to have higher oil pressure anyway.

  • @Righty736 well exactly. although the oil pressure gauge on my 5.0 mustang doesnt move with the rpms

  • @whatthehallbetch Most fords since the late 80s have had "fake" oil pressure gauges.

  • @Righty736 makes sense, even when my rusted out oil pan let all the oil leak out while i was driving, the gauge still said i had pressure

  • @whatthehallbetch If you hook up a mechanical gauge up to it, you'll notice the gauge in the dash stays the same whereas the mechanical gauge will go up and down.

Not sure why they included a gauge if it's not functional. If I remember right, there were a few reflashes for the last Jeeps to have them (Grand Cherokees, Wranglers and Cherokees with the 4.0) that turned the oil pressure gauge into a fake one too!

  • @Righty736 i guess its to put people into a false sense of security, or so the masses dont get worried about that scary gauge going up and down. but whatever the reason, its just plain stupid

  • i don't alway's watch automotive video's but when i do i prefer Saabkyle04 stay autoinformed my friend's

  • the 1999-2002 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 was assembled in

    Oshawa, Ontario, Canada

    Flint, Michigan, United States

    Fort Wayne, Indiana, United States

    Pontiac, Michigan, United States

    Silao, Mexico

    Caracas, Venezuela

  • 4x2 =(

  • I love this generation, The GMT800 with LB7 Duramax is probably my favorite Diesel/Truck combination of all time for a pick up. I don't like the newer styles personally and these LB7s are powerhouses. You can get 900whtq and over 400rwhp easily with simple bolt on upgrades and a tuner. Amazing power.

  • Witch one did you prefer the best?

  • It's auto but... I WANT TO DRIVE IT!

  • Wow! Rear lights pretty FUNKY!

  • could you do that 2000 altima?

  • Old truckers are nice.
