  • These are just great guitars, got one the other day.

  • Got this one also and it is a great guitar. Seems that Gibson is not selling this one anymore. I love mine and I will never give it away. It is the best guitar I ever had! When it was played a few weeks it sounded better every day and now it is more then a year and still smells of fresh wood. Play it every day!

  • Its a great sounding guitar man! The recording is not so good though...This guitar is great value for money, you get the all so familiar american Gibson tone and sound and that awesome looks...I tried it on a guitar store the other day and had the best sound even from far more expensive Taylors and Martins! I'm playing for over 20 years and all I have to say is THIS GUITAR ROCKS!!

  • Hi there. What is the top made off ?

    Also Mahogany ?

    Thanx.

  • @JackFuzz73

    Spruce

  • @llandellena Songmakers I've seen as high as CAN$1400 and Songwriters starting at CAN$2200,

  • that was terrible

  • what is that for a guitar? the songmaker have only a two ring rosette. you can see it on the gibson website and i have also one dsm model.

  • @01Priest I see the quilt maple songmakers have three.

  • I compared this guitar in-store to a Gibson songwriter with rosewood. I don't know if it was just because of the rosewood, but the songwriter's low notes sounded much bassier and the high notes sparkled much more. I'm going to go to anotherguitar store and see if I can find a DSR to compare to the songwriter to see if it sounds closer to the sound.

  • I just bought a Gibson Songmaker CSM-CE, it is a wonderful guitar. Beautiful to look at, and it sounds great.

  • This guitar was made in canada

  • How is the guitar dude? I'm thinkin of buying the CSR-CE guitar.

is the workmanship, tone and playability good?

  • Great and bright tone. The best for that price. They sound like USA Gibsons.I use it in my live performances.Good stuff man.

  • serious? you see they don't have it here in my country, so buying it would be a great gamble

is it anything like the taylor 714ce or 814ce?

in love with those two...but hate the price

    thanks anyway

  • Well, those Taylors come with Hawaiian koa/abalone and a soundhole rosette, using expensive woods so those details make the guitar expensive ,2,799$.Gibson is mahogany and a solid spruce top and for that price most of other guitars are not solid but laminated.I can´t compare details from lower price Gibsons with 3,000$ Taylors but its sound is really worthwhile for 1,300$. I bought it through internet,in musicstore for 850 €.

  • @collafan1 I've seen one for $1000 brand new hear in Canada. That's the Mahogany one. For the price it's a very good guitar. I suppose it in the range of a Taylor DN3 and Martin D-16RGT. It's hard to choose at this price level. I'd certainly like a Martin D-28 but that a lot more. I would think the Gibson is maybe the better of the three. Plus it has a rosewood fretboard.

  • No offense to collafan but everyone says so-and-so guitar is the best for the price. Your best bet is to try it out yourself. I personally wouldn't buy it without playing it. If nothing else check the return policy for whatever website you buy it from.

  • it sounds great !

  • What type of finish does this one have? Glossy back/sides/neck or satin? I tend to like the satin more. I'm shopping for a new acoustic and this one is on my shortlist, along with a Martin.

  • Mine too. What Martin are you/were you looking at? By the way, it's Gloss Top/Satin Back and sides (and Neck I believe).
