I can type about 85-90 wpm on a computer, but on a manual typewriter I bet that would be cut by half. At least until I got used to it. I've also been spoiled by the ability on a computer to easily backspace and correct and mistake.
The lever on the front left might be the direction control of which way the ribbon turns. PS- spray some oil on the ribbon. It should work like new. PPS- I have 2 Hermes typewriters.
