Having read "The American Way of War" I noticed that both Wilkerson and the article do not mention the US gov't.'s use of mercenary forces euphamistically called "Private Military Companies". This is important because the whole reason hiring and using mercenaries are illegal in the US is that they do not answer to the people and its government - only to their paymaster.

I really wanted to know his position on this matter.

there is only one problem i have with this interview and it is during the very beginning: tens of thousands of deaths? that's the low estimate that is usually given by mainstream media. high estimates are over a million. and iraq body count reports documented civilian deaths - which alone is ~105k! add to that an estimate for undocumented and military deaths and you have quite a bit more than "tens of thousands".
