Yesterday I was sitting in my school's parking lot waiting for a call listening to this song. As it played... I was overwhelmed with emotion and just cried right there. So yeah if you saw some wack job in the MATC parking lot listening to ACB crying his eyes out, that was me.
No matter how shitty my life becomes, all i have to do is put my headphones in and put this song on. Then for 10 minutes i can forget about the world and finally smile. Fuckin magnificent
Oh my god. . . This song gives me chills. This, this right here is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. So Powerful, so meaningdul, so completely mind blowing. Tears have been brought to my eyes at the pure genious of this song. Terrific. This band had some real talent. So Emotional.
I don't listen to this kind of music normally. But this song is so amazing and universal it's impossible for someone who has experienced death not to relate. This song was played at my dear friend's funeral. It will always remind me of him.
I'm listening to this song, regretfully, because this just happened to me. the verse where he says phone call. at 10am I got a call that my friend was found dead in a ditch from an OD. This song will forever remind me of him and helps me release my greif and pain I'm feeling right now. Thank you As cities burn. "when love is enough to keep our friends alive.."
I could not stop listening to this song during the past couple of weeks! Although the sound quality on youtube kinda sucks...this is my favorite song on the album, although they are all good. too bad the band is disbanded, but hopefully we'll hear more from cody in future!
This is a religous band, and just because one song is about a friend passing doesn't mean that they aren't religious. Haven't you heard any of their other songs?
@987657654321 Art should be a place of openness. If an artist wants to talk about religion, let him do it. This is really just his perspective as a religious person. He's not preaching, he's just expressing how he feels through art.
@jschristian44 this band, in a lot of there lyrics, sings about very real things such as doubting and not trusting God. Theyre completely genuine in everything they sing about and they never sugarcoat it to make it sound like they have everything figured out, but more of figuring life and God out along with the listener. In the end, though, he rediscovers heaven. read all there lyrics, theyre pretty ingenius. always very thought-provoking
No questions asked. The lyrics really hit me hard. The song is excellent, and filled with so much emotion. It gets you in one of those moods where all you want to do is put the song on repeat, and just dive into it. It's a shame what happened but, I am glad they made this album. And wrote this awesome song.
the song is about one of Cody's close friends. His name was Timothy and had taken his own life, so he wrote a song about him and them finding out that he died, and how love is enough to keep your friends alive. "It's not the cold, making my legs shake. It's Timmy's ghost, taking his place in our hearts, forever."
@SeizeTheSky1 and by the second verse i would assume that he did not know christ. "and its not the sound keeping me from sleep. its what jesus said about hell underneath. i think id rather believe some imaginary place made up to make children behave" and so on
Ah this song is so powerful. It just pulls at my heart. You can hear the emotion perfectly translated through the lyrics and vocals. The anger, the denial and confusion and despair, then the glimmer of hope; one can relate if they have lost someone similarly. This song has moved me to tears on more than one occasion.
@HELLawaitsall59 Okay. You wanted to know what this song is about. So basically their friend Timothy passes away. Timothy passed away without God sending him to Hell. So they band sings about how they wish Heaven and Hell were fake. Just to keep them on the right path. But their legs are shaky and chills are going up their spine because they know it is real. They know God is real. They just want his soul to be safe. Just safe instead of being in Hell.
Timothy Anderson Jordan II comitted suicide on Dec. 13th, 2005. He was a beautiful person, amazingly talented,so full of life, always there to make me smile. I will always love you and remember you.
one of my best friends just passed away and this is THE song thats helping me through it.
i message ACB on myspace about this song. at first i thought tj, the old screamer was timothy jordan. and then the album is dedicated to tomothy jordan II and i thought he died. when they got back to me, they said that its about an old friend Timothy who played for jonezetta and all american rejects. 2 years ago he committed suicide. so think bout that next time u listen to the song

i love as cities burn because when sing about stuff its not the usual stuff. like girls, and love. (its important but overused)
when i first listened to this song i thought he was talking about girl but when i found out it wasn't that made me smile.
thank you god for your creation.
