amazing, i love this hymn and i am actually trying to learn it now. this is such a beautiful arrangement of it played to its full capacity on an excellent organ. bravo on excellent arrangement of this piece!
Any day of the millennium, I'll take fine Anglican (or other) hymnody over "Let us build two shacks where my dog can dwell," that other favorite, "On Turkey's Wings," or the 80s classic, "Let us build a burger of God, where our ketchup is turned into mustard." Oh yes, and let's not forget, "Here in this place, the ceiling is leaking, rain on the roof makes for a wet floor."
Once I get a tune in my head and start improvising its hard to stop is'nt it? I once improvised on Regina Coeli for about 2 hours one Saturday afternoon!!! Its pure escapism
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. This past Sunday (April 13) we sang this as the Hymn of the Day. It was the 4th Sunday of Easter & that Sunday is Shepherd Sunday. Our readings are done on a 3-year cycle and the gospel was John 10: 1-10. Just thought I'd share.
didnt know there was a hymn to that tune...at catholic mass we sing that tune to the words "When we eat this break and drink this wine, we proclaim your death lord Jesus"
there is a total of 6 pairs of string celestes at 8 and 4 pitch, which i used in different combinations, in the middle section also with super couplers.
Very beautiful. I can tell you put your heart and soul into playing...I do as well. Playing is therapy for me...Love it.

To me, string celestes are the most beautiful sounds of an organ. Thanks for sharing this song. It is awesome.

You can always tell the sound of an A-S. G. Donald Harrison knew how to build and voice these organs-being "The American Classic organ".

Beautiful job. Your registrations and expressions were inspiring. Nothing beats strings and celestes in an organ. Thanks for sharing your gift.

This one is not as pretty as the one by St. Columba or the Irish verion. I love Irish music!

Just to play a piece from the hymnal and inprovise is brilliant to say the least, gifted, and Bach would be pleased no doubt.

I've listen to this arrangement of your at least 15 times. It haunts me because its so lovely. I think you've got something here.
Have you put this music to print? It blesses my soul each time I listen. Please send me a copy?

Do you have sheetmusic available? I'd like to try it on my organ. I like your arrangement, very smooth and soothing!

sorry I just played it from the hymnal as an improvisation, so I don't have sheetmusic for it

The song "The King Of Lord" is so lovely, its melody flows so softly, and you played it with feeling. Thank God, for you.
