  • this is what the Pentecostal-Holiness churches used to be like.. very much in tune with God...not like this Laodician latter day chruch!

  • @OVERSEER8 I agree I miss the ole Holiness Church....when we let the Holy Ghost take control and God was our main focus!

  • THE POWER OF THE HOLY GHOST IS STILL CAPTURED IN THIS VIDEO. I EXPERIENCED HIS MIGHTY PRESENCE WHILE WATCHING. HOW GLORIOUS!!

  • HUH???? Oh help us LORD

  • This Mother had some Oil foreal

  • hmmm prayer changes things.

  • My God, talking about Power, profound praying...probable recorded almost 20 year ago and this pray still breaks yokes. the only thing I have experienced close to this is Prophet Nathan Simmons praying...so many simularities. We can't push the seasoned saints to the side so we can shout fast and say big words that outweigh our lifestyle, they are still among us with this same power. this blesses me when im down everytime.

  • Very anointed....reminds me of the scripture in Roman 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. I love this kind of prayer!

  • how is that singing if you know post it

  • Mothe Elsie Shaw now has a Facebook page.

  • Wow, this word about the Giants that she spoke about from 2:10-2:20 is very true and if we read the word Genesis 6:4, Deu. 2:19-21 and other verses that speaks that this race of beings was not natural. Giants were when the Sons of God (Fallen angels) and man came into eachother....

  • He's coming soon. Help us to be ready!!!

  • I was there for that week! What a beatiful concept!!! "Prayer Clinic" God Bless Bishop Ithiel Clemmons for his vision! I remember driving from Massachusetts to be in this great move of God! Dr David Daniels, Dr Haynes, Elder Kemper, Mother Shaw were annually on post for these services to feed us.

  • Pray mother, Pray! The help of the Lord is truly my help.

  • wow

  • @martavisp I say the same thing. Astonishing!

  • More of the prayer clinic has been added. Just type In Mother Elsie Shaw and go to recent uploads.

  • I love it! "The coming of the Lord! the E N D time!" I love it! pray it motha! Pray!

  • Organplaya, thank you so much for this video. That is my daddy, Pastor Ben Van Zandt on the left behind Mother Shaw. He is sick now and it is wonderful to see him like this when he was in great health. He and my mom always used to go to those prayer clinics.

  • Wonderful..true worship, The late Pastor Nathan Simmons must have been influenced by this great woman of God...they are very Very similar in prayer & ministry

  • These prayer clinics are so powerful! I am going to start these at my churches! I was trained and birthed in this type of prayer.

  • Mother was a MIGHTY intercessor!!!

  • I would love to see her homegoing service on video not audio.

  • this is WELLS MEMORIAL COGIC greensboro, nc

  • I remember Mother Shaw as if it was yesterday. If you weren't living right, you would be scared to death!

  • I have a quick question people of the Lord.

What happened to the videoclip of Mother Shaw praying in the COGIC's prayer center section on our COGIC website. It was there in the prayer and exhortations earlier now it's gone. If removed I rebuke us. This women had been faithful to God and his people in the feeding of souls lo these many years and this is what's left? If the FOUNDATIONS are destroyed WHAT then will the righteous do? Ps.11:3 I

  • My question a few days ago had a warring tone, this video posting was set-up for exhortations and edification. Please forgive and pray for me.

  • Yes Lord PRAY Mother....

    Eric

  • AWESOME..anointed prayer.

  • My My My! I love it! This is what some churches are lacking today!

  • i wander if Prophet Nathen Simmon knew her because some of his physical movement is similar to her. This mother of Zion is a Prophetness

  • alright mother!

  • can you please post her introduction on this video?

  • somebody is going to always something wrong with thr truth

  • she is wearing transition lens glasses for you who think she's trying to be Hollywood.

Many times video cameras use special camera lights that are extremely bright.

And if you never heard tongues like these then, you must have just gotten into the C.O.G.I.C. from another planet.

If you stayed before GOD and fasted and prayed like this vessel of GOD did, maybe you would speak in those same kind of tongues.

stop trying to find something wrong with everybody but yourself.

  • Amen. I guess you told them off. Mother Shaw was an awesome woman. I am so sorry she is gone.

  • @organplaya absolutely. they don't get it like this much more...i loves it myself. i'm grateful!

  • @organplaya Say that blessed one...A carnal minded man will not understand the things of God because they are spiritually discerned.

  • @organplaya Don't worry about those who have negative things to say. Just pray for them. I have learned that everyone may not understand this walk, but we definitely want them to walk it with us because Christ died for all our sins. Thank you for posting this.

  • @organplaya ....SAY SO!!PLZ SAY IT!!! these are real tounges not like some of same tounge folk copy one another!!

  • @organplaya If you hear Bishop Mason on recordings of His prayers, he speaks in tongues similar to those of Mother Shaws....so I know it is TRULY OF THE LORD!!! AMEN!!!

  • is there any way i can get more dvds of her??

  • wow she reminds me of Prophet Simmons wheew glory!

  • Correction Prophet reminded you of her....I think he studied under her. Is'nt she awesome... Still ask around about her connection to Prophet Simmons.

  • I love this mother's spirit. But she is in heaven now with God ! I wish I could have met her.

  • no 1 is in heaven child! study and know for yourself that judgment has not yet passed! If any humans are in heaven, it is Elijah and Jesus. not these ppl!

  • I love the saints of old....Even being a young man, I really gain much from the seasoned saints

  • me also.

  • GLORY!!!!

  • She was definately the mentor of Supt. Nathan Simmons! Awesome!

  • I knew Supt. Simmons and Mother Shaw

personally and Supt. Simmons told me that he did not know her....Mother Shaw had gone to be with the Lord before Supt. Simmons became part of COGIC

  • She died in the mid-90s (1996-97), Prop. Simmons is on youtube prophesying at a Nat'l Convocation in 1997.

  • He didn't tell you that! Please don't bear false witness against these two spiritual giants. This very year of this taping they ministered the same week.

  • First I would not bear false witness on two great people I knew...you need to know your facts Mother Shaw's homegoing was June 2, 1997@ Temple of Deliverance(old location) looking at the program from service and I know what Supt. Simmons told me at his home when Citadel came into COGIC Central GA. Juris. in summer of 1997 I don't speak lies and that prayer summitt is held in NC always in September

  • When did she pass way?

  • is there a video on dvd of her life and or homegoing service? Also the same question of bishop charles harrison mason?

  • Yes there is I have it in my collection...Bishop Mason homegoing is on CD I have it in my collection as well...I do know someone that has rear footage when she came to us in Georgia yearly.

  • i would love to see her homegoing srvice.

  • I would too

  • Is this the mentor of Prophet Brian Carn?

  • She was mentored by Bishop Mason, and she was a mentor to Prophet Nathan Simmons

  • Yes hoodking69, along with a chain of other prolific preachers and missionaries that preach today. Some of the most annointed speachers of this time have an impartation of her spirit. Rest on mother

  • yes, she mentored him and prophet simmons

  • Mother Shaw has such a beautiful spirit. Must add, all the power saints seem to have an OH, HEY and YES LORD in their belly.

  • Amen to that. The spirit of God would so quickly give her a prayer for any situation, before your hat dropped to the ground. This is how GOD GOD is. So GOD.

  • yes lord....i luv this...we need 2go bac 2dis tru holiness....dis how cogic started..sha ta ba hiya

  • glory glory glory thats all i can say.

  • This mother has power. This is what we need to go back to. Men only need one rib. I like when she pulled her shades down. Real power

  • is her funeral on here if not please post it please.

  • This is a pray from Saints that kepted a real close with God. No form or fashion, just being led by the Holy Ghost. If only we could like this today, instead of trying to be so proper. Lord help us today.

  • i was just thinking about that. As I was going through something, the only thing I could think of was "the blood of Jesus"...all the intellectual type praying went out the window. It went strait back to true power praying.

  • Your right, but the statemnt is not "if only we", its when will we make the decision to do so. I believe that we expect so much without sacrificing anything and we always end up with nothing.

  • say so!!! I believe that God can and will and still does have prayer vessels. There are some and I believe their are even more coming that will make the decision "to do so" as you have stated.

  • I would like to hear a prayer like this in my church.

  • Wow we dont have mothers like this in the church no more.....Lord I would love to see some mothers get down like this in this day and age....

  • Mother Shaw was Prophet Simmons' mentor... I love prayers like this, they get down in the root of your soul, and travel throughout to produce more warriors. The 1st time I watched this video I satyed up all night Praying, and preached under the annointing the next day.

  • Was she the mentor of Prophet Nathaniel Simmons? Were you referring to Nathaniel Simmons?

  • yes madame, Prophet Nataniel Simmons

  • Is this a sermon or a prayer? Do they let her prayer be the sermon?

  • To my understanding Stefan990 this is a prophetic/intercessory prayer(For we know not what to pray for as we ought, but the SPIRIT maketh Intercession.Romans 8:26-27 She teaches afterward, you'll know it. She was a school teacher by profession, before she went into full time evangelistic ministry.

  • Oh, I apologize 1brownskin1, I just scrolled down and realized this is basically a question and answer between you and Stefan990, I'm sorry.Look before you leap, right? Sis. Shaw tried to teach us as Penecostals to get and keep "Forgive Me" on our tongues.

  • Thank you very much for answering the question. I think that all saved people are Penecostals. When Jesus came he bought the penecostal experience. Jesus and Peter walked on water. Paul healed people with handkerchiefs. Thank God we still have men like the Highly Anointed Benny Hinn and Prophet Don Stewart.

  • Praise the Lord..God is good.Every Good and perfect gift comes from above.James 1:17

  • she is praying

  • Praying like this will help you get to the next dimension of the anointing. This is how you receive the double portion of the anointing.

  • Oh my God I remember this I was there at Wells Memorial COGIC then.... Boy could she pray... she had us up all night...

  • The interesting thing about it Saints, is that this is the style of prayer and anointing that the Church of God in Christ was known and respected for.

  • AMEN!!!!

  • Shes like a older version of Prophet Nathan Simmons!

  • AMEN!!!

  • an older female version....lol

  • Comment removed

  • Mother Shaw's prayer is very very comforting. Thank God we can all be blessed even today! Alleluia and Glory to God.

  • Amen!

  • She is not playin!

  • No way!!! Those older saints of zion did not play!!! You knew that they meant business and they were respected!!! They taught so many good moral and values and I thank God for them!!

  • thank you lord for being MY HELP OOOOOH

  • This is a legend the one and only Mother/Prophetess Elsie Shaw

  • Glory to GOD we say yes!

  • and the real church said amen!!!

  • who was she? can anybody brush me up? someone told me she was CH MASON'S WIFE

  • no this is the one and only mother elsie shaw, she was the prayer warrior of all the prayer warriors, she was a prophetess that brought correction to the body of christ. She was a giant in the gospel I believe she will go down in History as one of the most righteous women that walk the face of the planet

  • got u! i cant get enough of this vid! that is the kind of power i wanna walk in....

  • lol no, she was his musician before she became an evangelist, Bishop Mason's widow died two years ago her name was Mothe Elsie Mason.

  • alttle more info about her if you have any?bishop mason's wife.

  • I don't no much about Mother Elsie Mason other than she had been a foreign missionary, editor of the Whole Truth, a civil rights worker and a public school teacher. She was of course Bishop Mason widow and third much younger wife, his first divorced him because he answer the call to preach and the mother of his children (2nd wife) passed back in the 1940s. Mother Mason was nearly 100 when she died several years back.

  • I'm almost in tears just hearing the prayer of a TRUE INTERCESSOR once more....this is my 1st time seeing her, but i've heard so much about Mother Shaw....she was very close the late Lady Ruby J. Butler (1st Lady of Amazing Instutional COGIC/Jackson, MS....prayer warrior president MS Southern 1st Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction)

  • I Love how she pulls her shades down @3:41 she is so full of Grace I really miss being around these type of saints.

  • Thank you so much for posting this! I've admired the prayer mantle that Mother Shaw carried for so long. It's such a blessing to have this available, I can't even express in words how much this blesses me. Do you happen to remember the date of this message? The content of it is sounding so familiar. She prophesied in the Women's Convention back when Clinton was in office, and I would so love to hear that again. Thanks again, for posting such edifying content. God bless!

  • Pray mother Pray!!!!!! sha ma!!!!!!

  • this is my first time seeing her and I am so moved and touched by this and the other three (3) posting of her on this site. wow, it is my prayer to be that spiritually close to God.

  • she was an intercessor... GOD ANOINTED HER and HER PRAYERS!

  • THERE was truly none, and I have found none like MOTHER SHAW...OMG how i miss her so much...

  • Pray Mother. . Pray Mother. . . Take and teach us where the church needs to be when it comes to a life of prayer!

    YES LORD

  • that was my great aunt

  • Amen she was powerful, was this for the PAW prayer clinic?

  • No, Mother Shaw was COGIC through and through!!! this was for the COGIC prayer Clinic in Ohio an she also did it with Bishop Ithiel Clemmons!

  • This is at Wells Memorial COGIC in Greensboro- Bishop Clemmons was the pastor. He was led of the Spirit to start this Prayer and Life Clinic and it still exists, it is held around every 2nd week in September.

  • What a fervent prayer!

  • Im a young buck, and wasnt born until 91'. So although i have a sense of whats going on (because the type of church i grew up @). But what exactly is a "prayer clinic"....serious answers please!!!

  • The prayer clinic is a continuous stream of praying and testimony/preaching. The wonderful thing was that people knew how to testify without giving the devil the glory, telling their entire life's story, and spilling the beans on someone else's personal life. Every year in Memphis, TN the Church of God in Christ does something similar to the prayer clinic and is led by Evangelist Francis Kelley and a few others. It's powerful!

  • The one she is at is still held annually @ Wells Memorial COGIC in Greensboro Dr. H.G. Platt pastor- sucessor of the clinics founded general board member, Bishop Ithiel Clemmons. It takes places Sept 14-18, 2009.

  • It's funny because I know of a preacher who emulates her so, that he does the same tongues and hand claps within her prayer. I miss these days, but we should learn from them and not try to mimick such greats in the church. I'm glad you posted this. It takes me back to the ole' time way when I didn't have a worry in the world but to make it to church on time - and later have a good chicken dinner with a red soda:)

  • what flavor was that red soda? LOL!

  • That red soda was nothing but sugar, artificial taste, more sugar, and a little water. It was like cough syrup.

But my favorite red soda - which I can't find here in NC - is Tahitian Treat. Nothing but a diabetes smoothie, but great taste:)

  • LOL! I thought you were going to say Cherry or Big Red.

  • Don't forget strawberry!

  • mrslaughinghouse!

We have Tahitian Treat in my city.

  • I need to find Tahitian Treat, but then again I shouldn't. Notice how you can drink an entire can in 1 sip. Not good for me, but so good to me. rofl!

  • im in fayetteville and we have to buy our tahitian treat on ft. bragg....

  • Is HE IN ATLANTA???

  • So, there's Tahitian Treat, Strawberry Fanta, Big Red, and just plain ole' Hawaiin Punch (1 cup part 2tbsp water)...Lol!

  • oh wow...lol

  • Actually, Bishop Ithiel Clemons, who hosted the Prayer Clinics wanted the next genereation to carry on her style of prayer, so it would not be lost. He encouraged us to "study" her ways, because Mother Shaw's style is so much like Bishop Mason's. She learned much it from him. The bible also says the mark the perfect man. This was Mother Shaw wish as well. Bishop Clemens said not to worry about people mocking those who seek to carry it on. The intent of the heart and a sincere spirit is the key!

  • Your words really encouraged me. Thank you so much.

  • Me, too!

  • shes close with my church, she came to do a week shut in a few years ago...awesome

  • A praying woman of God!

  • there's nothing like a prayer from a saved santified holy ghost filled mother. we still riding on those prayers!!!!

  • Mother better PRAY!!!! Mother Shaw and my great grandmother were VERY GOOD FRIENDS... They would talk and pray together on the phone and things like that...

  • My mother would purchase tapes of the great Mother Shaw leading the morning prayer at the Women's Convention in the 80's and we'd listen to them at home. I wish we still had those priceless tapes.

  • This is prayer at its purest form. Oh GOD I miss those days of prayer clinics and corporate prayers. The power of GOD is so mighty you can feel it!

  • Prayer Clinic 2009

    Wells Memorial COGIC

    1001 E. Washington St.

    Greensboro, NC 27401

    Sept. 14-18, 2009

    336.275-6564

  • is there a way I can obtain more information on the prayer clinic

  • I would like to know where I could find anything else of her!

  • Folks jammed into convention halls at 5:30AM for Morning Prayer! As Mother Shaw prayed, the presence of the Holy Spirit was palpable, hovering in the atmosphere. A supernatural silence covered that place, except one, who'd speak in tongues. Mother Shaw interpreted them & people praised God even more. God literally spoke thru these gifts & the real Spirit moved! She always prayed "To God Be the Glory," & NEVER made it about herself or spiritual gifts; but about God, whom she called "The Big He".

  • Organplaya Thank you thank you thank you Chills filled my body just at the reading that Mother Shaw was available. I love her.... My life was changed just by her presence. I actually had alone and personal time with her. THANKS THANKS THANKS...

  • OMG! This is COGIC Cathedral home of Wells Memorial OMG DUDE Thanks

  • This has to be where Nathan Simmons got his style of prayer...

  • This is an anointing that may have similarities but definately not a copied style. I remember some of the oldtimers had this same style but from different parts of the country. What an anointing...praying and prayer bring about an unusual response.

  • I could feel the very anointing of God as Mother travailed in the Holy Ghost. We need this type of intercession! HE'S COMING SOON saints!

  • It just doesn't get any better or more real than this. A true prophetess with no form or fashion..

  • I love this mother. Now this was a Mother of Zion. We miss her!!!!!!

  • In celebrating our 100yrs. we must reflect on our rich prayer heritage from Dad Mason, E J Dabney, Mother Shaw and Mother R T Jones Sr.

  • I live in Philadelphia and theres a radio station called Gospel Highway 1110am. Theres a program called Precious Memories lead by Linwood Heath, and last summer he did music featuring Christan Tabernacle which is the church that Mother RT Jones' husband founded. Lord God that women could pray!!!!!!!

  • How I miss both Mother Jones a real true prayer warrior and Bishop R.T. Jones. I met them when I was a teenager going to school with both their son and daughter in Philly.I will always play heir recordings as long as I'm with Gospel Highway Eleven.

    Linwood Heath, WNAP/Phila.

  • We need prayers like this in this time. Oh MY!!!!!!

  • Her spirit reminds of Mother Deola Wells-Johnson. She's the asst. pastor at Temple of Deliverance, Bishop Patterson's church.

I was under her when I was in Memphis...Mother Shaw reminds me so much of her.

  • When I met this lady in Memphis, my soul begun to quake!

  • Wehw this spirit was over me...Mother Elsie Shaw, Prayer Warrior....

  • Oh how the persence of god erected my soul as mother prayed, how it made intercession for me, how my flesh came under the blood, my mouth filled with tounges and my mind was left to humber around the greatnest of Christ, and the coming of the coming. I pray that the same anoitnig that was released upon me will come into your soul as well, and birth the thirst ofr the coming of the christ like it has done for me.

  • I'm not COGIC but I am penecostal and we had some of those Mothers of Zion like this great mother here. When ever one them worked the alter you can belive people were delivered and set free. Those great women of God could pray you through and they made you call on Jesus untill something broke on the inside. You don't see them like this in the church and anymore.

  • thank you for the comments...in the natural order the female of any species "births"....in the spiritual the women of God "birth" souls through prayer and supplication...the men are to "feed". (word of God). The balance is out of whack in and on the spiritual level. When the church goes back to allowing the mothers to birth souls...you'll see and witness a difference. And men of God teach and instruct.

  • I agree with what you are saying, however, I believe that the men of God are also to carry souls and birth them out in the Spirit! Men of God are also to pray and travail in the Holy Ghost!

  • AAJM83 you've said a mouth full, when a true move of GOD happens, people are at a loss, because it has no depth to it, you really speak in tongues to the degree of GOD giving a prophetic word to edify the church, and they will quickly move to something else..so, so sad..

  • Thank you for posting this clip of the late Mother Elsie Shaw. Unfortunately it seems as though people have forgotten what a real Pentecostal church is like. There's dancing and some kind of excitement but there's no genuine move of the Holy Ghost where prophecy, tongues and intepretation of tongues, and the other 9 manifestations of the Spirit operate. This woman carried was imparted to her from the late Bishop CH Mason which was the true spirit of Pentecost.
