The mark of her composure is that she recovered and pulled it off. No one cares about getting lost - most of the audience is deafer than a bag of hammers anyway - what musicians care about is the ability to recover and sing even more beautifully.
RIP - I had the honour of working with her 10 years ago. She was wonderful. It's so sad; she gave all of her life away to please others. I wonder who will take care of her dogs....
....and isn't great to know that our Idols do have feet of clay? It just reminds us of the fact that they are human and ALL humans make mistakes!! However not all humans have the stellar quality and sheer beauty that makes this voice and this recording a real treat to listen to!!
I read your comment before listening so was curious to hear... I think Ms. Price jumped ahead several bars. It happens. But she handled it very well; she got right back on track in a couple of seconds. A minor flub, hardly worthy of being pointed out, and certainly not "hilarious".
don't forget ! she is human ! this is not the end of the world because she was lost ! damned ... you have never been on a podium on a such high level ... that's a concert ! life, error, risks, emotions ! if can not accept that, buy a cd !
ha .. all you sticklers and band of merry simpletons ..tsk - I know every note of this sng like my own, one easily turns away from the timer -and can barely only detect the mildest of disconnects from the master's score on this heroine's part.. an all the more charming if in itself obviously nec momentary improvisation _musically rendered_ a perfect performance ..
The old story : 99 concerts went excellent, the last , nr. 100, didn't go that well and all the critics are negative. Forgotten the 99 times the artist sang heavenly. Some even call it "a disaster", 9 seconds being lost.....A disaster is an eartquake or a lost harvest. Or persons like artbow123, who lost all sense of reality. Nine seconds lost means still 3.50 min of ultime vocal performance. If you like to mention disasters, please shop in the popmusic.
I only agree. Have heard her many times live... I adore her legato & phrasing and the ability to show nothing uncomfortible. This is a real clever lyric soprano with wonderful colors and the taste to sing Mozart. For Strauss I like more Dela Casa (more brilliance) and Norman... Strauss to sing means more volume at the middle register and flexible turnout of the high... But her Mozartinterpretations - wow!
her 'LOST' i just powerful!!! LOVE IT!!!

RIP, Margaret Price. She had one of the best voices of the century, and shone bright from the start of her career.

She was such a beautiful young woman. Such a lush voice and rock hard professionalism.

Yes, she wandered. But retrieved the situation within seconds. A great star. Silky Strauss but loved her Schubert best.

Hey, in excellent voice but she was completely lost at 3:09-3:18! A disaster!

That happens, nevertheless one of the most beautiful soprano voices ever.
