Very well done, but as a matter of fact the pilots for the paratroopers were indeed experienced and if one of your sources is Stephen Ambrose he has been critiscized for portraying the pilots as cowardly. The pilots themselves insist that they kept at a safe speed for the paras, who may have been decieved into thinking the pilots sped up due to the intensity and darkness of the operation.

actually the machine guns where only part of the reason so many died, the main reason so many died was because the germans had put cement blocks in the water so that when boats tried to land the would become stranded. this led to the US force's having to get out in deep water, they were not trained to do so and their gear weighed them down more soldiers died of drowning then or gun shots. but still great job very accurate. A+

If you're the son, daughter, grandson or granddaughter of a D-Day veteran, there's a sense of pride that goes into watching this. You think "wow, someone in MY family took part in this." My grandfather was on Juno Beach in the second wave of the attack. The first wave had been largely wiped out by German snipers, machine guns, ect. I can't imagine what it had been like to run into gunfire like that, knowing you had no choice but to put your head down and run.

I know it is a little late to mention for your project this but d-day was actually codenamed Operation Overlord, and Omaha beach was not just Point du Hoc as most people believe. The main section of Omaha was taken over just as easily as the other beaches.

5:47-5:57 is complete bullshit. the U.S. wasn't impacted by dday other than the casualty rate. its a realistic thing to say however if you are from a european country that was occupied by nazi germany at the time because had the allies not prevailed there we may not have taken back europe and the soviets wouldnt have been able to hold their lines as they slowly retreated, leaving their oil fields wide open for the nazies to take, the 3rd reich could still be in power to this day for all we know.
