  • sorry bout the constant thread fellow commenters..

  • Very Nice video, direct and straightforward. Good job mate :) from NSW, Aus

  • @tikioaktree Thanks. I am jelous. Wish I was in Australia.

  • @pptgtool Always welcome, the trade industry is flowing very well here too :)

  • we gat it fraam powertooool.caamm

  • do I need to use a special impact rated screw driver bit for impact drivers? or can i use regular screwdriver bits?

  • @jjlwis

normal screwdriver bits will shred on you if you don't use them right, basically if you're using normal bits you have to hold down the trigger till the screw is set, if you stop halfway and then get back on it, after a few screws you probably will shred your bit.

  • my drill is amazing the guy that said the batteries r shit o dear they r amazin i got 3 batteries 3.0ah and they last fukin ages !!!!

  • i used it for 12 hours today and i was drilling metal battens to a timber roof and only used 2 batteries great drill

  • Excellent tool, great power. light is very useful as i work in tight spaces that are poorly lit.

  • they are a stupid tool. the normal makita cordless drill can drive screws heads right through a 4x2 even on the high speed low torque setting. they are extremely strong. i dont see any need for these impact drivers at all. maybe for fastening nuts on to bolt repeatedly you could justify having one, but not for fastening wood screws.

  • @tubestick00 the makita impact driver has absolutely no kick back at all and it could rip a 3/8" bolt without a problem making it the most powerful light weight drill ever with a 3 amp that cane work for hours

  • @banannaninja ok.

  • @tubestick00 ever considered the annoyance of putting in +500 screws within a small set of time? Impact drivers are more efficient because you can do it much faster and also its fully operational (meaning you can fasten things) with one hand.

  • @tikioaktree i have screwed down more floors and rooves than you've had hot dinners buddy. the tool is a toy. drywall has a specific quickdrive 240v powertool, flooring has a specific 240v quickdrive powertool. impact wrenches were designed as heavy duty air tools in the mechanical and engineering industries, these things are toys and not ideal for any one task. my expert opinion.

  • @tubestick00 why try to troll for?? all i was saying is that its a very useful powertool and i personally find it effective... of course theres specific tools for the job.. theyll always use tube spanners and a stillson/pipe wrench in plumbing but that doesnt mean you cant you a shifting spanner..

  • @tikioaktree not trolling mate. just commenting on this facility made specifically for that purpose. they are not tools for smart people. i never met a successful smart tradesman who thought these were good. they are gimmicky toys for wannabes and maybe aussies too.

  • @tubestick00 didnt mention that i own a 18V twin kit LXT both impact driver and drill... but Also on your prior comment are you telling me that you believe Aussies are sub-tradesmen??? Mate gotta inform you that some of the finest tradesmen in the world are aussies...

  • @tikioaktree you got a wooping in the world cup the other day. cant play rugby. cant build. underarm bowling lowlifves. conversation terminated.

  • Comment removed

  • @tubestick00 wow a little harsh mate, NZ are the world champs of rugby so its not like we can't beat anyone lol. The underarm thing again, com'on one tosser makes a bone-head decision that he got as much crap for here in Aus as there in NZ and now we all are like this?

  • @pjharro of course not. i take people on a case by case basis. these impact drivers are toys. that was my original comment. this guy began arguing with me. who cares.

  • @tubestick00 geez here we go again, if we are sooo bad, then why do you sheep jumpers keep crossing the ditch in droves to come work over here? probably 'cause youre country is fucked?

  • @indiancrapolis na mate, only loserish kiwis head there. your country is a dusty hole. rationed water. hahaha

  • the battries are shit

  • just got the 702 kit , well worth what i paid, when you factor in what you would pay for a decent drill/driver v.s. a combo, the 702 is the way to go, plus i got a kick ass jobsite mp3 radio.

  • I tried this machine out when I was on a recent trip to Makita and found it to be really powerful. I screwed some big screws against the grain without a problem, we'll post that video soon. 5 stars

  • It is the greatest 18v there is! You forgot to mention the 3yr warranty on tool AND batteries! Makita replaced 2 batteries and charger for me in 15 mins! I use that 18v impact and I also use their 10.8v impact.

  • gr8 drill but battery is to big for the drill

  • A smaller battery would mean less run time.

That may be OK for homeowners but not for pros.

  • Simple and compact; I like it. I like the idea of the light in the unit considering my line of work, this is very helpful.

  • yes that light comes in handy very much, more than you'd ever think!
