Note that when he goes upstairs (always to the 13th floor) he never accomplishes his mission (suicide), he only gets to it when he takes the elevator. I can't help thinking they're paying homage to the 13th Floor Elevators. Jason's wearing a Roky Erickson's t-shirt on the Letterman video, as well.

Anyway, very good song and video. I stopped listening to Spiritualized records long ago, but I think I will pay attention to them again.

I don't think they got destroyed, they were attatched to rope, only the last one looked like it actually fell, but even then I doubt it did, they lowered it on rope, that's clear the second time he ''jumps''. Then they take the next shot from facing the ground, and hey presto. not a bad video though. =)

okay, I just saw this band play on David Letterman... and I had to check them out. As a musician, this song really impressed me and I think is genius. To have all those musical qualities come together is awesome, your timing is great, the choir is cool, along with the effects of the off-keys on the organ is the best. The words of the song totally matches the chaos with the music... Right on!!! you rock...
