nothing wrong with religion, its when people think that their way is right while your way is wrong starts the problems. Morals are passed down and taught by parents or gaurdians. The only way this is attaind is from social functions and church temple so on and so forth is a way to gain such values. If you really want to "make up your own mind" and "free your mind and kill your tv" stop watching Zeitgeist, and in fact, make up your own mind. That documentary just shows theory which it calls fact, but never actually proves with sound logic.

nothing wrong with religion, its when people think that their way is right while your way is wrong starts the problems. Morals are passed down and taught by parents or gaurdians. The only way this is attaind is from social functions and church temple so on and so forth is a way to gain such values. Science is a way to stop conflict because it can show everyone that we're all the same inside and what we beleive and do does not effect the outcome and we should just live in harmony and stop the bs.

Fantastic clip. The religious stuff was great, but the off-topic stuff hits on a great point in human nature. Take the time to discuss and think about serious issues, but remember to stop and have fun. Take a look around and enjoy life for what it has to offer, and if that means making your own fun, then go out and find your chicken.

Well all I know is that sooo many religious people beat up on and persecute people of whom they don't like (ie feminists and gays) and use scriptures to back up their bullying tactics or their disapproval of others.
If you're gonna speak on morality never use the bible - cause as a whole it's a HORRID book and I've heard much the same about other religious books like the koran etc.
Religion (not spirituality) is one of the biggest stumbling blocks towards world peace.

Yes everyone needs to have respect for other people's beliefs but the line of respect in each ones mind may very, so where do you draw the line? For example if you truly believe that there is a heaven and a hell then it's only right to want your friends and family to go to heaven. So it kills you inside knowing they don't believe in the things you believe in. Of course it's not right to force anything on anyone but not all beliefs are meant to be kept personal.

I think you're missing 1 important point here: All wars for the last 1500 years were because of religions mainly Christianity, Jewism and Islam. Don't just say I'm wrong: think about it. Around year 800 you had Charlemagne/Charles the Great. He fought for Christianity. From around 1000 you had the Holy War from European Christian country's versus the Muslim-Middle East.
Later on at around 1600 there was a war in Holland. King from Spain (Christian) wasn't pleased with the Dutch protestants

Well just to be against current, religion was invented before the means of contraception. So i think having sex with a woman before mariage, and therefore make her pregnant, let her die of starvation without anysuport with the child (because thats what folks at that time would do), not to talk about spreading of std could be somewhat wrong. But yeah religion do need an update from over 2000 years ago.

religion to me is the same as drugs & alcohol, meaning its something that ppl use to give life a greater sense of reality...ppl are scared to believe that this is it and that after u die ur just gone, thats why ppl use religion and say that there is something more (the afterlife). if all ppl were to believe that there is no afterlife, alot of them would have no motivation to do or accomplish anything

relgion dosnt nessarly need morals, most all relgion does tho, scientaoligy has proven philosphys thus making it not a philosophy but a fact or a proven hypothesis. thats my prespective on science. above all, all religions are made from philosophys that were transitioned in differnt times with differnt cultures. makeing diffent beliefes into differnt relgions, my prespective on this subject.

I am very open minded, meaning I will hear what people have to say but also I will read what their sripture says. Many 'holy' books encourage people to kill other people, force them, dominate women etc. and I have a problem with that. I think people who PICK AND CHOOSE parts from a holy book and then calls himself a true believer (true christian, muslim) is a hyphocrite. If you are agnostic, that's fine, but I still think that's being an idiot who don't want to think further. Contemplate it.

Just have to add a little bit more... Be more specific. Medical science, yes, does help save the lives OF billions of people, but not millitairy science. Remove everything related to advancements in war, and you'll see the world is quite a bit a better place, with people fighting with sticks and stones.

as far as judaisim goes marrying within the religion is a huge deal and its really hard to understand unless you yourself are jewish. due to the lack of jews in...the world (12.9 million, dropped 300,000 in the last year) maintaining the pop is a HUGE deal. so retain some empathy from these numbers as far as this goes.
