I have a 32 bit vista home premium laptop, I only have music I have ripped from CD's I purchased in my media player. Lately every song plays great until very near the end and then there is a skip, I started using media center and it worked fine for a couple days and then it started skiping near the end of songs. it is super annoying, I can play the sound on other sites with windows media player or anything else.

When I download a video from youtube and play it on media player or quicktime or whatever it will play sound. I upgraded flashplayer many times and it doesn't help..

WMP is a clunk piece of SH*T. Very unituitive, struggles to file FLAC format, and doesn't fully support it. The interface is clumsy; it is hard to find the things you want to do easily.

@cincityallstar I REALLY liked WMP12 until I realized that just because I added my video folders to my "Libraries" thing, WMP starts parsing and adding all my videos (mostly sample files from downloaded series episodes), and there's nothing I can freaking do about it. Blam. WMP is out. I disabled that "Windows Feature" right away. VLC, welcome back (sigh). I'm glad I have Ubuntu installed alongside W7, with software that doesn't behave like a moron on moron acid.

Chris, I agree that RSS feeds should be available. I think there are two significant improvements. First, file management is improved expecially through Vista. Secondly, WMP 11 has WM Lossless. I am told that in Version 12, it will also be DLNA certified.

Don't worry, You will get wmp 12 in few months. It's compact, supports more format, including iTunes library and Quick Time format. It will be great. Not the best...I think...but certainly better

11 is coo suz u can rip cd's in WAV form and turn around and burn them for backup cd's, but even then it don't rip correctly, and sometimes the track names and order are wrong. keep up tha video's mayn

Im a music fanatic guy and i Download alot of music... I have around 700 hours of music now... I always safe my list (.wpl) I did that like yesterday... Next morning ( today ) I opened my list (waited for it to load) and then I saw: 650:27:32 at the bottom (i got a skin that tells me). And that's every time i safe and load again. Now: How can i safe more on .wpl or how can i update the maximum? I just want to have the full 700 hours in my list! :(

I had a quick question on my Windows Media Player...you know how you can minimize it onto the toolbar and the tab down there will allow users to be able to pause, stop, and adjust volume on music? Mine used to do that, but at some point I made it stop or something and wanted to know how I could do that so I don't have to keep switching windows to get back there to stop a song. I would suggest Media Player Classic or VLC just because of the capability to play almost any file under the sun and the simple interface.

I also suggest using Winamp instead of iTunes if you're using an iPod.

winamp has been becomming more and more bloated since version ~5, i have actualy started to use 11 for music, winamp for radio and vlan for video.

As a music mainger i definaly prefere 11 over winamp and iTunes, iTunes best feature is that you can buy drm free files other ethen that it can go to hell.
