Scott -- you probably don't know me, but you might my older brothers and sisters, Mark, Martha and Mary Beth...we lived down the street from you.
You forgot Long Branch Elementary...and Clarendon UMC is actually in Ashton Heights! So was Clay Park (and elementary).
Oh well...still a nice summary of Lyon Park area...and you are right, the field on the bike path was a great secret...so was the smaller one near the Grimms house.
You left out the mega-mansions that are sprouting up all over Lyon Park, that unfortunately are changing the whole feel of this once fine neighborhood. Glad you skipped over the grotesque development on Pershing St, and the house that covers the entire property directly across the street from the swings in the Lyon Park. (As I recall, two more bungalows were torn down so that these overblown monstrosities could be erected).
