Good story, nice acting. However the grand sets of the original tunnel are sorely missing, but then you couldn't afford to build a set like that now for a TV pilot. Still it would have been a fun series.
This is not a plausible show. Even stepping on a bug, killing as animal, stepping in the mud could change history for the worse. The only way a person could travel to the past safely is if nothing they did would change anything, as if they were in a subspace bubble and out of phase just observing not interacting.
Regarding fem soldiers - in all that gear and under those conditions, chances are they wouldn't be noticed. Happens to modern fem soldiers all the time.
Regarding plague - there were many, many outbreaks of plague as late as the 1800s.
cool twist- in the original, it seems the travelers were always trying to change time- ( see the pearl harbor or the Titanic episode-) I guess they didnt see the consequenses in the 60's
The Colt 1911 that J.D. uses would be a contemporary weapon of the time. The 1911 was originally designed by Browning and has been around for nearly 100 years.
@WpgLwr007 Not all the time, and probably not in a war zone. Also depended on the officers in command. More often in ceremony and it wasn't a military but more a party salute.
I am Col. Klink......this is Sgt. Shultz! Too Funny!!!!!!! Damn shame this show wasn't picked up! Hey,the boys out in Hollywoodland has made mistakes before!
I thought that was hilarious. Those names wouldn't mean anything to German soldiers in WWII. It was like in "Back to the Future," when Marty tells the farmer that he's Darth Vader from the planet Vulcan.
Remember that the humor of Hogan's Heroes was that they were always making the enemy [especially the Nazis] look like idiots. People from the WW II era could really relate to that. So calling them Col. Klink and Sgt. Schultz would be making more fun of them.
At the beginning, they inject him wtih the same RFID-chip the team all has implanted. Not only can it track a team-member thru all time and space, but can relay telemetry on vital-signs, relays audio and video from the person's own receptors to the brain, and contains an instant microcomputer programmed with every language. Thes are a real technology. Implantable/injectable RFID-chips and microcoputers are a reality!
Apparently they have a translation device that not only converts every language to modern English, it makes people's lips move like they're speaking modern English as well! Like Barbarella's "tongue box."
There were plenty of women serving in the U.S. military in World War II, as clerks, nurses, drivers, gunnery instructors, ferry pilots. But not in combat units.
hmmm...they don't exactly have a firm grasp on the effects of time travel, do they. It's like they try to be smart about it, but then only go halfway...

4:43 The Monk is speaking 20th century English and not pre-Shakesperean English.
The plague was approximately 1350. That's a couple hundred years off!

@ 8:28, it would appear that the wrong salute is given. Wouldn't German soldiers have given the "Heil Hitler" salute with the arm extended?

There had to be a scene where the protagonist and the hot chick see each other semi-naked. Like they say, "What happens in time.."

yeah, right, because nobody noticed the two chicks in uniform in WWI !!! What a joke.
