  • Am i the only one that cant even get the tap right?

  • It says that I got this comment/question 15 hours ago. what have you been doing the last 15 hours? Practicing tapping I hope.

  • Ok. You are awesome john. But what amp are you using???

  • A frickin' Roland Cube 30 that was provided by the studio. Good for this sort of demo work.

  • Now take the same tapping skills and tablature and transfer it to a fender strat. The Ultimate skill tester :P.

  • excellent! the most important thing is communication and you clearly explain it so anyone can understand! keep up the good work!

  • 5 stars!

  • Thanks for the lesseon John.

I wanted to ask you something, in the song "crazy train" the solo is starting with tapping and then he quickly change and starts to use the pick, how does he do that?

  • A lot of people actually tap with the edge of the pick. That way you can quickly go into your normal flat picking.

  • I can't tap with the pick for shit

  • hello im not john but i can still answer. he holds the pick normally with his index finger and thumb and he tap using the middle finger. 2nd option is to tap with a pick holding it sideways

  • When you tap with your left hand is it it important in which you way you tap like up or down if that makes any sense at all.

  • some guys pull their tapping fingers down like a normal pull off and some people like van halen pull off toward them. whatever is comfortable.

  • I have to give it a try now,

    Thanks John.

Hey, have you ever lost a pick that way?

  • Of course....thanks for your interest....
