  • is there any way to share screen *without* the other person controlling it? I use Skype for that, usually, but the video quality on iChat is a lot better.

  • better hide your porn before screen sharing lol

  • In screensharing can people delete your files on your computer??

  • You actually don’t have to turn on Screen Sharing in system preferences. That’s totally, totally different.

  • Can't thank you enough for sharing this info. I do so much work on Music Tutorials and this will help more than you can possibly imagine!

    Thank YOU!

  • Ok, so i went to the apple store the other day. And i was on a Mac. Checking my facebook, youtube, etc... And while i was moving my mouse, it was moving on its own. Then "this person who was controlling the mac" they opened up Notepad, And said " I see you, yes you with the gray shirt." How are they controlling it?

  • @Zero2790 that is fucking creepy.

  • I was supposed to be working at school, and then my friend and I were talking in iChat and I got screen shared... and it was funny.

  • noob

  • Oh my goood

    LOL! your awesome

  • lol, your like ''oh my god''

  • thank you for this, 've been wanting to know how do you make these tutorials?

  • Does Screen Sharing in System Preferences need to be enabled on the person's computer who I want to remotely control, or just on mine?

  • hahah that cracked me up. your like " oh my god!" lol

  • Listen People!!!!! It only works with people ON your network!!!!! I tried it with a friend that lives 15 miles away but it says "Screen Sharing could not be established" it pisses me off!!

  • Not true. Either your router or the person with whom you were trying to screen share with is the issue.

I have done it from Australia to California. It works well cause i know how to set up my router and open the need ports.

  • viewing the webcam or audio doesn't work either... I tried it and it worked perfectly when he was over at my house with the macbook but when he left and tried it again it failed.

Is it because my router doesnt match his or something

  • @tanman1234543 thats weird cuz i did it with a friend who lives in NC while i was in NY

  • @tanman1234543

I know i'm 5 months late, but it actually works. followed the instructions and was able to view and control a friends computer. even used the webcam setting to view his cam.

  • Looks Laggy, his voice sounds distored, but why would i want one of my friends moving around my boxes?

  • lol oh god i accidently tried this out once without knowing any knowledge of it and my screen was shared but the other persons wasnt and lets jut say it wasnt very fun lol

  • lol what did u have a porn wallpaper?

  • no haha but she was going into my 'personal files'

  • this guy is so full of him self and hes a gay prick go fuck your self dude

  • TFDhogan's channel reads"

"hey there i am 15 years old and single but i hate it but i cant do anything about that now anyways i get on with most people and look out for freinds when they need help"

Your a sad sad sad idiot. hahahahahahahahaha. Get a life and stop leaving negative comments for no reason. I pity you fool. There's a very good reason your single!!!!

  • LMFAO!! that was hilarious

oh and btw thanks for the video about screenshare, MAC OS X LEOPARD is just AWESOME

  • Yeah this is the best, Doing this in windows takes up more time and half the time it never works, you have to either use MSN messenger or A Sharing way, that never works, unless you do allot of Configuring, but that's the Micro$oft way make things nice and Complicated, and I am not a Hater of XP I just use it for Games, other then that, OS X all the way.

  • Screen share malfucntions a lot on iChat. I hate Microsoft, but Apple's programming isn't infallible.

  • Hmmmmm. Never gone wrong for me and I use it every day. Sounds like it could be your router or the other persons at least :-/

  • hahahahahahahahahahahaha that was funny!!!!!

  • he got stung! caught looking a pr0n

  • hey anyone know how to screen share with a Windows computer? they don't make iChat for Windows yet, but there has to be programs out there that are as easy as iChat that are free....

  • Doing this with windows is much more complicated, but you can look up VNC and figure the rest out.
