At 14:07 you said you tried to chase down the last warriors, but when you charged with the ashiguru at 13:52 they still had spear-wall. This really reduces the running speed.

In my last siege battle, I got my ninjas to climb the wall on the right flank, sneak up to their gate and use my bombs on while as well as capturing a tower.

you should of put your yari units into spear wall position and put them right next to the wall they will own nearly any units thrown at them

Very nice of the AI to waste his general like that. Are you sure you couldn't have taken the stronghold and defended there from the approaching enemy reinforcements? You could have used archers to rout the enemy peasant infantry before it reaches you (instead of having them shoot at the 9-man strong retainers unit) but routing them from the castle instead would have given you more space and time to pursue them and kill more before the battle ended.

btw, perhaps u already know that, but for everybody who doesn't. Don't let your troops leave the fort. In the fort, they'll fight to death. But if you send them outside the fort, they might shatter and route. Not possibility to route while they are in the fort is basically your biggest advantage in the siege battles as defender.

Hey HoC, next time you defend a castle don't place Yari Ashigaru in the wall itself. Use the spear wall and position them just behind the wall after you pull your archers back when the enemy starts up it. The spear wall is great at choking infantry, at the trade off of getting kills.

In a siege, most kills should come from your archers anyway - have them aim for mass formations and center units, to cause chain-panics when one unit routs. Aim for archers after the enemy has reached the wall.

@ThePitofSidLord Archers are incredibly OP for defending siege walls against CPU. They seem to lack any common sense other than running into a fully defended wall of archers! I usually always have 3 archer Ashigaru with 2 Yari ashigaru for 'unexpected circumstances.'
