  • aa klassnaya sobaka. My favorite breed!! :) ya hochu takuyu sobaku :P

  • two questions for everyone and anyone to answer.

    How smart are these dogs.

Will they do alright in texas if they are apartment dogs that get exercise but stay cool alot of the time?

  • the dogs head was about t fall off

  • what de f***k is wrong with ye.....every known dog on the planet loves tug of war and if its so bad for them then why are there shit loads of toys made designed for it????

i have a newfie and i seriously doubt that pullin on a rope could damage his teeth they're huge for christ sake!!

  • Will you two stfu?

  • The dog isn't built to do that. You're abusing a loving/loyal animal.

  • He is giving it the minimal exercise his Newfie needs, without overdoing it. No abuse there, just some fun - glad I am not your dog neomuttley :-)

  • Not abuse??? He jerks his head around full force. Not to mention the dog's teeth. You don't need to be an expert in physiology to see the injury potential here. W/15+ years in nursing, I AM rather knowledgeable about it. You don't see a problem here? OK, let someone do this to you. Watch what it gets you.

  • Full force? Bit dramatic, aren't you dear? There is perhaps ONE roughish jerk in this entire video, but it is hardly hard enough to do damage.

I don't care what you are qualified as, I have had dogs and seen dogs live in perfect health with such "abuse". You are obviously the sort to make mountains from molehills, perhaps you should inspect his dog personally before being making accusations.

Try and stop 2 dogs from playing in the exact way with each other (tug'o'war style), if not rougher.

  • Oh, and the evolution of a human jaw is somewhat different to that of a dog, as you should know, so making such a comparison is just foolish.

  • Not foolish @all. It shows you yet again that you are wrong. Not being able to admit that. Or worse, STILL trying to play it off. Is just plain poor behavior. My offer still stands. Let someone fuq up your neck/jaw,teeth. THEN tell us how safe it is...

  • You sir, are an idiot.

You seem to ignore the behavior of animals in natural settings, and have obviously never seen two dogs playing together.

There are many who have certificates who are unable to grasp logic, you are one of these. Again, learn the difference between human and canine anatomy, get a clue, and then get back to me.

Show documented medical papers to support your claim, or GTFO.

  • If you cannot understand simple comparative anatomy, I have serious doubts as to which field of nursing you belong to, or that you paid much attention at your community college.

  • 7yrs cardiology, 8yrs critical care & orthopedics: I understand this just fine. Yes, I did start out in a local community college. Nothing wrong w/that. The fact that you're a loudmouth w/too much time to sit there, & type clueless replies, means d*ck. You're clearly wrong. Now, kindly drop dead :-).

  • I was responding to your comment, which was rude and without warrant. You are still unable to give any evidence to your claim, and are here doing exactly what it is you accuse me of.

So I would suggest you take your own advice, and in future when you would like to "LOUDMOUTH" off at a loving dog owner for playing with his dog, I suggest you bring the evidence.

Oh, not addressing the behavior of animals in nature is a big clue to having no idea what the Fuck you are talking about.

  • Last time, Einstein... Dogs have cervical discs, do they not? They're made of the same stuff, & herniate just as easily. Their teeth break just the same, too. You're wrong, & don't want to admit it. I hope you eventually test your theory on your own body. Then, YOU will get to live w/the consequences. I'll not waste anymore time fencing w/a jackarse. I don't care a wit if you'll admit your fault or not. Enjoy where your Cretinism will eventually lead you :-).

  • Again, no evidence, and no acknowledgement of the differences in our species. You do not have the same bone structure or strength of a dog, so to compare yourself with a dog is utter stupidity. You claim an understanding of bone structure, yet fail so miserably here to admit a difference.

Indeed, it is pointless arguing with a person who feels their limited training makes up for their ignorance.

Good luck with that. And remember, no amount of ad hominum will prove your point valid.

  • Indeed, every shred of information I can find on this recommends that tug'o'war is a great way to strengthen and exercise your dog, with none commenting on the supposed damage it can do. These are qualified people also, but of course you should know better, right?

Again, will you stop two dogs from playing with one another, as it is certainly much rougher than this.

  • Oh, was that human orthodontics or veterinary? I'm guessing not the latter.

  • @ulthea thread is old..but if i diddn't play rough with my dog he wouldn't like it. I train like that too. We both excersize.

  • @UltraEpicLoser

Exactly mate! It's great for the dogs as far as exercise goes. Neomuttley was just being a self important dick to be honest, didn't even have the good grace to admit their obvious error =)

  • @neomuttley

You know, I spent quite a while scouring the internet for evidence that this sort of play could lead to dental damage on dogs. After finding nothing (only issues with dominance), I decided that the responsible thing to do would be to call my local Vet. After calling three different vet's, my assumptions were confirmed.

If anything, this type of play will strengthen the dogs teeth, and I seriously think you owe the poster of this video an apology for jumping to conclusions.

  • @neomuttley

If you had have given clear evidence to your argument I would have had no issue in agreeing. But not only did you not do that, you were insulting and dishonest in stating that your human experience somehow made you an expert on dogs.

Have I wasted my time in responding to you? Certainly not, it was worth checking into (don't want to hurt my canine companions), but in the end, incorrect. Nothing degrading in knowing when you are wrong :-)

  • @neomuttley This dog is not being abused. These dogs are quoted as being the strongest in the would. They were bred to drag fishing nets out in rough seas. They have exceptionally strong jaws and teeth. Everything you've said concerning the wellbeing of this dog is pure conjecture. You may have studied human physiology but that doesn't make you an authority on canines. Why not do some reading on the breed?

  • ya they are strong as shit too.....btw that is the perfect size yard for that dog : /

  • ha, cool

  • Your dog is huge!!! Amazing!

  • hhahah tahts great workout bro

  • unfortunitly the space you have him in is not adiquit for a newfounland .

  • newfoundlands are lazy dogs. you can keep them in apartments.

  • @watchdog3

unfortunately, u did not, that, newfoundlands do not require a lot of space, and actually to very well in apartments, like bernese mt dogs, they are time intensive, not space intensive. they need to be with ppl, and not alone, so ya

  • The dog is fine. They have strong necks, however, by doing this with my dog, I found that he would always want to play tug of war with every toy, and he would never drop the toy when I wanted him to, so I had to stop playing that with him.

  • Какая подвижная собачка!

  • that's a dumb way to excercise. i bet that will really hurt the dog's mouth or neck over time. asshole.

  • I agree. Playing fetch is better exercise.

  • Yes. Playing fetch is great, but this exercise is very natural to these dogs and helps them bond with the handler. Most important, it is one of the favourite games they play with each other, and boy, they really pull harder than the human can. They can pull eight times their own weight, and that is awesome.

  • One thing's for sure. Nobody will fuck with you.

  • beautiful dog (i mean bear!)
