If u don't have ground game u will not survive...we have guys at the bjj school I attend that transferred from stand up combative sports...boxing, tae kwondo, muay tae, etc that admit when it comes to ground fighting....its a whole different ball game.I have respect for maywether...but until he steps out his comfort zone and back up his talk...then he needs to chill...I've never heard a mma fighter bash boxing...if anything they have respect for it.
Lets get real here, the only thing Mayweather is worried about is killing Chis David, can you imagine Mayweather wearing 5oz gloves? Look how fast he is with 10oz gloves. . .you might as well let Floyd enter the ring with a Gun
@christopheradavid floyd mayweather is a better athlete than any mma fighter, and has made more money than any mma fighter ever has or will, 1 thing i do disagree with mayweather about is mma been a white mans sport i hate mma and im white i found that a fucking ignorant comment to make
@intactGB Punching someone in the head is not actual fighting. Watch Ray Mercer vs Tim Witherspoon and tell me that wasn't a fight. Since you seem to so munch more about fighting, please give me an unambiguous definition of "actual fighting". Because what you just said is merely your opinion, not a statement of fact. Factual statements backed up by empirical evidence.
fighting is combat between two people to establish dominance. Fighting includes any form of martial art. Fighting has as little referee interferences as possible.
In other words, don't expect a ref to save you then you find yourself in struggle to survive, get your ass mounted, and have your zygomatic bones ground into the pavement. Fighting has to help someone defend themselves. With no ground technique, you might as well never had trained.
@intactGB We are arguing semantics here, I taking about fighting in a ring or octagon under sanctioned rules. You are talking about a street. I would definitely that having a ground attack would be very advantageous. I have never formerly trained in ground fighting. I watched the 1st few UFC's and wanted to Joyce Gracie. In the little bit of boxing and grappling that I have done, just playing about with friends was very affective. My one friend and who playing around boxing and grappling.
@intactGB I'm 38 and I don't have too much longer left if I would want to learn a ground game and I'm not talking for competition, just for self defensive. All though I have a concealed weapons permit, but I would not want to shot anyone and I would only fight to protect my wife and children. They are the only thing worth fighting and/or dying for. Peace.
@christopheradavid I am sure that's flattering and all for you, but you haven't captured a noteworthy title in your entire career at Bantamweight for a legitimate organization in North America. Your record is what? 13-9? You don't even belong in the same league as a future Hall of Famer like Floyd Mayweather.
Keep hunting for a payday you will never see. Better tryout for the next season of the Ultimate Fighter if ever hope to make it in the UFC. Scott Jorgensen > You.
@MistNin The deal is, it wouldn't take a "great" mma fighter to take out Mayweather. He's a great boxer, but once put on the floor, I have a feeling his next move would be fetal position... tap out.
No offense to you, Mr. david --I have mad respect for Sacramento fighters, however, you haven't accomplished 1/3rd of what Mayweather has in your own sport. You think calling out a five division champion will get you a fight? Keep on dreaming, my friend. We Youtuber's know you are more than capable of handling yourself in a fight. You just aren't on Mayweather's level. Sorry.
@Bizzybone187 It is a simple conclusion I have drawn from the premises listed in the video. Of course one could argue against my claim. Actually, this is more of a rebuttal in the first place, to what Mayweather said about MMA fighters. I know that he is too scared to fight me, but the purpose of this video is to get enough exposure that I know he knows I am calling him out.
GAGO! IF YOU EXCEL OVERALL EVEN IN BOXING. THEN BECOME A BOXING CONTENDER! RIGHT NOW! KNOCKOUT OUT FIRST ANDRE BERTO SHANE MOSLEY KERMIT CINTRON PAUL WILLIAMS VICIOUS VICTOR MIGUEL COTTO ANTONIO MARGARITO MANNY PACQUIAO AFTER YOU BEAT ALL ABOVE THEN START CALLING OUT FLOYD MAYWEATHER! THAT'S HOW IT WORKS!!!!
@christopheradavid You would fuck mayweather up dude. Thats why he didnt send back a video response, his bitch ass is scared. XD Big ups to you man. You get my respect for standing up a prick that talks shit. i would;ve said something but im too heavy for the bastard.
no hate to MMA (i watch it) but Chris Davis vs Floyd in a MMA fight it can go either way cuz chris punches would be like slow motion to floyd but chris can do take downs BUT in boxing floyd would murder chris in 1 round. former P4P for nothing ya know
so a no-name in MMA calls out the best p4p boxer in the world? uh... How about this david dude makes it to the MMA p4p list first? Floyd would knock him clean out before he can even attempt a takedown much like Mercer vs Sylvia. come on now. This faggot just wants to rub off on some of that mayweather fame. the guy gets paid 50 million + a fight, he has no time for scrubs.
of course floyd would loose in a mma bout all you would have to do is take him down but its like floyd challenging you to a boxing match for 12 rounds it would be over in 1
A boxer with NO MMA experience can go into the cage and fight a World Champion MMA fighter and compete........a MMA fighter with NO BOXING experience CANT go into the boxing and make it out of the first round.
whaaaaaaat ?????? ......." a boxer with no mma experience can go into the cage and fight a world mma champion fighter"???????? .... you don't know what you're saying!
do u boxer fans even no about mma? lets say you do. you know you can slam, and kick, ground and pound. now boxing you can only hit daaa. damn ass. so if you are a real boxer go fight a mma and see how real you realy are. dont be a bicth do it..mm
@SuperLeonanthony I know really. Myself, as well as anyone in my generations had to do the same thing and switch from whatever we were doing, whether wrestling, judo, bjj, karate or whatever. It's becoming harder and harder to make the switch from a specialized sport. There is a generation right behind me with a life of MMA from near birth. No one shy of Bo Jackson will be able to compete at a level of two fully developed sports. Make the switch, before it is too late.
@christopheradavid ...And you! Yea you, dumbass!! Do you even know how much money Floyd has? Even if this bum in the video could beat Floyd in mma it doesnt matter cuz his scrub ass will never be graced by the opputunity to fight him. Bottom line is, Floyds rich and this guy drives a civic, and lives around the corner from his mother. What!!!!
You are giving me to much credit on your "scrub ass" scale. I don't even have a car and I live in my gym. But I am glad that finally even the haters are recognizing that I would beat Mayweather in MMA. That is the point. I am not ashamed to eat, sleep, breath, live and embrace my lifestyle. After all. MMA is not a sport; it's a way of life.
@christopheradavid Get inna boxing ring with not even Floyd but your average boxer with boxings rules youd get destroyed. Why would a boxer fight mma? If boxings so easy lets see you try 1 boxing match and ill laugh at u once youve been ko'ed
@spideycentz Or enter a pool tournament with a pool shark and I'll get the table run on me. I have no shame with that. I actually have nightmares of being in the box, with no grip control, no clinch game, no kicks and all. My purpose is too unite combative sports in to one. Boxing has long been developed in recent times, but the arts have long been practiced and kept in their own form. MMA has united all the arts. Boxing is incorporated as karate or wrestling: a mere component. I recognized this
@TerminatorFanGame well if you wanna make some real money boxing is a step forward. mma fighters get paid like plumbers for putting their health at risk. totally not worth it for the toilet paper money they get
@TerminatorFanGame the fuck it aint about money. what fighter you know fights for free? what fighter u know wouldnt wanna make floyd mayweather money? cmon now
@spideycentz bottom line is floyed is a bitch stop backing up pussys unles thats what u do? back up roy mercer who is a former pro boxer tried mma and lost 5 times and bareley won one fight recently against tim sylva. he admits a boxer cant win on boxing alone. put an mma fither in the boxing ring u took 90% percent of his skills. put a boxer in an mma arena u took nothing away except his balls. respect for roy mercer the only pro boxer who took the challenge. and james toney even tho he lost
@spideycentz oh u red it and had nothing to say face it. lol dont defend a weak ass fool that wont put his money where his mouth is. no what im talking about.
@SuperLeonanthony ...Well if boxing is so shit then why dont you go pick a fight with a boxer, and see how it works out for you.? Capture some footage as well please so i can see you get your shit punched in.
floyd your damn ass for what you are saying. you think your tuff fight chris david. i think he will bet the shit out of you, and i am black i love mma. boxing is for kids mma is for real ass fighters so dont punk out fight him. if you pass him up you are scry. all us real niggas would like you to fight a lil white boy. that if you are not scry. boss man let see......
Chris David must have bumped his head, is a MMA fighter conditioned to fight 12 rounds?? A boxer hands are registered, they will kill a MMA fighter specially with the skills Mayweather has. . .get a grip Chris David
@Gigantor60 Twelve 3min rounds with a minute rest in between equals 36mins of boxing with 11mins rest. Five 5min rounds with a minute rest equals 25mins of fighting with only 4mins rest. I'm doing the math, and no matter how you look at it, the near 3 times as long rest given doesn't really make the few extra minutes of competition substantially greater. They are both impressive and your intended point wouldn't undermine the fact of the video: Floyd Mayweather will never back up his words.
@christopheradavid man he spars 15 minute rounds with middleweights and super mws moving in at all times with no breaks--he is flexible and he adapts to any fighter, no matter what style--he trains all year round and he's really a 15 round fighter-you wouldn't last long with him at all and you know it--floyd's best attribute is his timing--he'll catch you at will, and i know you'll attempt to take him down and choke him out, but that fukker is strong--he's a gym rat-he'll kill you kid--
@Gigantor60 floyd can't even knock down the grandpa Mosley and can't even knockout the 2 weight classes lighter and smaller Marquez... now you say floyd can kill a MMA fighter, How? with their Smuggled Guns form his smuggler family?
This video makes it seem like Floyd would even get outboxed by this guy because he needs "gloves" to block lol. You don't watch Floyd at all, if you did you know Floyd uses the shoulder roll and foot work to get out of the way. If Chris David tried to just box Floyd he would get knocked out in the 1st or 2nd round.
90% OF THE FIGHTERS IN MMA HAVE A BOXING STANCE Everyone trains there hands in boxing and there footwork in boxing. Mayweather will kill this david dude
So if you want to talk about shelter, there's many sheltered zones that the current physics and rules of MMA/UFC offer, the same goes for boxing in that they don't have to worry about take downs. So really, to talk like you do about it, is just plain ignorant.
Street fighting at the highest level will always be superior to both and any other combat sport at the end of the day, so it's useless to compare X-sport with Y-sport right now.
Furthermore, you admit they don't excel at any given single art, including striking, especially punching, but from the looks of it, UFC and the other MMA fighters in sports today haven't even reached a high level of their own sport's would-be skill level. Currently, all of them suck at striking and their SHELTERED ZONE is to clinch and take down to the ground. In the ground, it's either fighter's win depending on who gets the right hold and defends well. The striking becomes less to worry about.
Sports-legal MMA is still extremely far away from the reality of a street fight with an MMA street fighter.
You say sports-MMA is an accumulation of all and takes more skill than boxing because of that. Yet you admit they don't excel at any one skill, especially striking. Sometimes the limitations of one can mean the upwards level of the skill-cap of that activity, that's what you fail to think about.
@SkywarpMach7 MMA is a mixture of a boxing stance, Muay-Thai and Wrestling. If you have a solid wrestling stance you'll get kicked in the face, a solid boxing stance will get kicked in the legs and if you can't change levels, like with a "light foot" Muay-Thai stance you will get taken down. It is truly an accumulation of all the arts.
@SkywarpMach7 That's good. Cardio is essential. The best means to achieving the best cardio is mma practice. Sometimes, just wrestling, or just bjj, or just kick-boxing, or whatever, but you can't emulate it through any other exersize solely.
You know the funny thing I heard Floyd Maywheather said is that you have to do 8 miles for boxing while he was bashing MMA...... Funny thing is most MMA fighters that I know of do more than that. Fedor does 10 + miles....... So does that mean Fedor can do boxing? I mean I already know for a fact that wrestling by itself takes more cardio than boxing in MMA you have to have greater cardio...Thats just plain and simle....
@SkywarpMach7 BJ Penn pretty much has a boxing stance, KJ Noons has a boxing stance, Gegard Musausi has a boxing stance, Caine Velazquez has a boxing stance, boxing in my opinion is the best standing martial art in MMA, the head movement in combination with ground defense is a tough combo to pull off though. you don't want to duck a punch then get kneed!!
@SkywarpMach7 Of course, look at Nick Diaz, he is no a huge puncher, but he lands so many punches, and he is also an effective body puncher. Effective body punching is missing aspect in most MMA strikers. Nick's decent boxing skill allows him to have a good sense of range, distance and timing. BJ Penn has one of the best educated jabs in the business, he has terrific timing, unfortunately he was outboxed by Edger, and pride may have stopped him from attempting to take down Edger.
@ljsab7 I like to address all who comment on my videos posted as I take time to edit them before posting & monitor throughout there being viewed by many as yourself. The fact that you care to comment gives my presence on youtube worth. However, every once in a while, I get a comment that has no relativity to my objective that I am motivated to ask for clarification: what were you expecting to see here; what do you stand? I am known to be random, so I take no offense if that be the case with you.
What up C.David.. Yeee boy Alfonzo here from Sacramento. You still with Phil at No Limit? Sorry to break all your hearts but my boy C.David would whoop on Gayweather. I've been trained by Chris and trust me he's no joke. Keep it up boy. Gonna start driving up to Madera soon.
@Alfonzie2205 Hell yeah brother. Good lookin. I'm in Japan right now, but, yeah, I am still with Phil at No Limit, now in Madera with Jose Torres. Come down fo show. You know.
Dude I know amateur boxers that would wipe the floor clean with you. ;p I'm one of them. Don't believe me? I DARE you and you friends to walk into a boxing gym on the ruff side of Cali and talk that same shit you're talking now. Any gym will do. You guys won't make it out. I swear it.
Chris David is an idiot. He would get owned in the cage if he fought Mayweather. And he would get killed in a street fight if he fought Mayweather. He'll he would get murdered if he ever faced ME in combat...and I bow down to Mayweather.. Kermit Cintron would kill Chris, too.
@christopheradavid What up C.David.. Yeee boy Alfonzo here from Sacramento. You still with Phil at No Limit? Sorry to break all your hearts but my boy C.David would whoop on Gayweather. I've been trained by Chris and trust me he's no joke. Keep it up boy. Gonna start driving up to Madera soon.
look you have to understand fighting. Kermit Cintron has made so much money fighting elite fighters.......If you really wanted cintron you would have to proof your worth.. you already have losses. i am not being critical i am just stating facts. If you wanted to fight him you have to bring top dollars to the table. I DO wish you luck since you are a fighter as well as i am a fighter and the sport is tough.. Good luck in your career
@onesexychamp Cool. I looked up Cintron and liked what I read. I really hadn't heard about him until now, but I am very interested in what I read. I am only a bantamweight fighter anyway (135 in MMA, it might be different in boxing). Believe me, I have been stepping up my boxing and am still so far behind. I know it is essential. I have losses, but they are all decisions. I personally posted my 8 losses on youtube to show that they were far from me being beat down. Thanks. I wish you well.
...and this channel is my best means of being heard and I am so easily contacted here. If any one else would like to step up to the challenge than they are duly invited. This is not my only "calling out" for competition on youtube. I call out many and this is one you have happened to stumble upon. My intent is to draw a challenger and not to argue about positions one may have. My response to all comments about my videos only reflects my care to all viewers and not my purpose here.
I really hope you would land a fight with him...it could be quite entertaining, but unfortunately like every fighter has and will find out....Fighting Floyd is just a cold dose of fucking reality....not to mention IF you were to get to him...you'd have to then fight Floyd the Fighter not Floyd the conservative tactician...
wrong...there is no boxing in MMA, there is striking but there is no boxing...Go look up "Floyd Mayweather Training"...this specific one has the song "day and night" playing....watch him shadow boxing about 1:30 sec in. Then go film yourself or watch yourself in a mirror. It's not about what you do, it's about the cleanliness of how you do it, I guarantee you won't be close. I can appreciate your a bounty hunter of the sport, but Floyd is the only Jedi Knight of fighting in this generation.
And what does Chuck do in the 3rd round. Utilize his NCAA wrestling and shoot a perfectly executed double. Boxing is a great aspect of MMA. No one really argues that; maybe some do, but they shouldn't. But MMA encompasses everything. You need to be well equipped in all areas. Combat has become collective and those who don't jumpon the band wagon will fall behind.
it's like right now..I'm watching Chuck Liddell and Silva, and they literally would have both been either knocked out or butchered by Floyd...and that's not me being biased whatsoever, I can just see the difference in speed, power, precision, and accuracy. The punch is the most coveted technique in fighting, hence Floyd being a master of, "Interception of the fist", if ya know what i mean
The thing about Floyd is that he just puts himself in a position which no fighter can get through. Watch the Marquez fight, he turned a jab into a hook as soon Marq dropped his hands literally one inch. That's just unbelievable, do think you could jab, feint, and then drop your hands and take him down, much less catch him? He isn't just a boxer, he's a master of the only rule there is, what a man can do, and what a man can't do. he understands it better than any fighter in the world.
Although I respect your opinions...I guess I'm waiting for a man like Mayweather in MMA. If you truly understand boxing, you'll know for certain he is truly one of the greatest (if not no.1) in a hierarchy that has been around at the highest level for over 150 years(modern commissions). The man is untouchable in a boxing ring....I think he could be taken down, but my concern for an MMA fighter would just be sheer speed....and smarts.
my final post is just the ending of this video...LOL..wow, another clueless MMA fighter who has never been in a fight where you have nothing to fall back on. And in response to your Ultimate Combat and "Pillow fighting" shit....lol just remember...in the history of competitive MMA... one person has been killed on record...and it was due to post fight pre-req complications....on average about 8 boxers die every year ( not including fighters outside the ring who have retired)...c'mon tough guy.
my final post is just the ending of this video...LOL..wow, another clueless MMA fighter who has never been in a fight where you have nothing to fall back on. @przanj24 Yeah, I rather get concusted, continue fighting and die. Really, I didn't know I had a better chance of dying in Boxing. That's what I wanna do then, because that is the reason I do MMA instead of Motorcross or Nascar or Skiing and Snowboarding for that matter. I am a part of the Mixed Martial Arts Reign. I was subsumed as a straight-karate wrestler 7 years ago.
(continued) Boxing is the single longest lasting combat sport to prevail. There will be good boxers who can make the cut, just like all us wrestlers and Jiu-jitsu specialist. Not necessarily the best boxers will make the switch.
(continued) Mayweather will never do it, but there will be top level boxers competing in MMA when the money is right. That is what boxing has. But understand it isn't Boxing VS MMA. It is MMA against every single style of combat. Boxing was the longest standing art and I respect it for that, but the simple fact that MMA is what it is all about is inevitable.
(continued) I didn't begin a Mixed Martial Artist. I had to be consumed much sooner than you and believe me I fought. I didn't wanna learn the Jiujitsu, I didn't wanna learn boxing...
Remember it's BOXERS who are coming to fight and actually survive with success in MMA. A mixed martial artist wouldn't last one round...not one round in a boxing ring. Boxing is the harder sport, period. If you disagree go run 11mph on a treadmill for 36 minutes straight, i bet by minute 6 you'd start cryin for mama...
It's just ridiculous to think Floyd wouldn't dominate in the MMA ( why would he even want to everything about the hierarchy of the MMA was stolen from boxing: rounds, cutmen, RULES, a "cage" instead of ring. When you watch Floyd he fights at about 10%,literally. People are CLUELESS when they watch Floyd..."oh I'm gonna take him down and he'll be hurtin, oh his hands is hurtin, the abuse in MMA, his body will be hurtin', mutha fucka you fight Floyd Mayweather yur ass gon' be hurtin'...
Lol...sorry man but this shit is just so pathetic. It's like when MMA came along they acted like they found these new techniques, and a hierarchy better than boxing. Mayweather is not a boxer...if you follow any type of actual Martial Arts you'd know he is a true MASTER(literally better than anyone in the world) when it comes to the mechanics of fighting, a la Kung Fu and Jeet Kune do (specifically the Shaolin style
this punk dont have enough name tag. ppl plz use your brains. mayweather can not just fight every fighter in the world, hes not God for goodness sakes. But I do believe may will knock out any boxer though, hes just that good. And ive never even heard of this guy chris david, lol matter of fact I dont even watch MMA its stupid.
I appreciate your comment and beliefs. However, now you actually have heard of this guy, Chris David. My intention well applied. Thank you. And I really would like the fight of course. And I would accept 1?100 of what MAyweather got paid for fighting me.
every one keeps talkin about him getting takin down to get beat. there are plenty of guys who could stand with him. you cant box the same when you have had your front leg kicked a hundred times. iv never seen a boxer beat a kick boxer...
Little Floyd would get absolutely wrecked in MMA. Ask his uncle, he said the EXACT SAME THING. Everything that makes Floyd an incredible boxer would be a negative in MMA. Everything from footwork to defense would basically get him taken down and beat to death. Floyd is a great boxer, MMA is a different sport.
What's the song? I like it. Keep up the ass whoopins chris, big ups. Mayweather is a fuckin' pussy, he just needs to shut his face. If he was any kind of man he would back up his shit talk.
I know. Most people haven't. It's self promotion. I actually waited many years eagerly searching the internet for archives of my videos and found nothing. Now there is a lot of footage and virtually everything is because I put it up myself. But I am legit. I don't have a local fan base, because I fight allover the world in smaller organizations trying to get recognized internationally. I know Mayweather wouldn't do MMA, as I wouldn't do boxing.
But everything I mention in videos such as me never being knocked out, submitted or TKOed, never losing off US soil, retiring 6 professional MMA fighters and a few more fun facts are all truths. I am self promoting, because I have no manager or anyone else to do it for me. Thanks for checking me out. I hope you remember me when you see me.
Absolutely. I would unlikely compete in a boxing match w/even a B level boxer let alone the best, other than Pacquiao. I think Pacquiao would be a harder fight in MMA, because of his tenacity, but that's my speculation. My challenge is real, and just as I wouldn't accept fighting Mayweather in boxing, I expect his rejection of my offer. I challenge him because of his recognized achievements as do I challenge the entire bantamweight division in MMA, mainly higher ranked individuals than me.
If I don't create a buzz for myself, then I can't expect another to do so. I mean, really, if you aren't your own biggest fan then you have to depend on some other source of your being promoted. I can imagine someone having some bigger source that fountains into the media in due time, but initially, you gotta believe in yourself first. Sounds kinda lame, maybe: cliche. But it's real shit, my take on it anyway. Thanks for your input and sharing of thoughts.
I think that we have established that. Boxing, like all the specialty sports are not for MMA fighters. Just like I would never make it as a boxer, was only half good at karate, went O-2 at the California College State Tournament and 0-1 at the Gracie Open, second string football player through high school, not fast enough to go anywhere in track, baseball, soccer, all the rest. We fight because it's about putting everything together.
I am an athlete, it's just no sport utilized me to the full potential, thus I repeatedly failed. If there was something else for me, maybe I would be doing it. This is the only thing I can do.
boxing is just plain sports, what would you do if you all know is punching, even though you are a professional boxer, you would die when you encounter a beginner MMA fighter, all they have to do is to take you down and your dead end of story.
zanpaktuh you dont know too much about combat sports lol. just watch ray mercer vs tim sylvia this will show you how dangerous boxers are. Boxing owns mma peace
I like your vid, you brought up mainly very good points. There's even a great example of a one dimensional japanese shoot wresler, nobuhiko takada, who had a dominant career in japan and then when he switched over to MMA, he got pummeled, due to lack of proper MMA training, being in his 30s, and different fight protocols in MMA
the most exciting thing about mma is the stand up , lets examine this what is stand up ? its striking,.. ok what is striking? boxing. so for all the shit dana white is talking the best part of his sport is the sriking part no one wants to see 2 grown men wrestling and grabbing each others balls. respect boxing cause mma wouldnt exist with out it
sure when your in range,... but when your not , your boxing and people love that the most about mma. so if boxing/striking is the best part of mma. how can anyone diss boxing..(and by the way a lot of fighters dont kick they considor it to be girly)
Lol.... I feel what your saying. Let's just say, "if" Floyd was to take a MMA match and he only relied on boxing, I dont think he will last no more than a round. Why??? Because I believe MMA is not just about striking...its about stand up/striking and rolling/ground. I dont doubt or dislike the sport of boxing. In fact I remember growing up and boxing was the shit and I love when there was them big fights nights. But now boxing is just not the same I dont hear of any good fights anymore.
why in the world would anyone put flyd in a mma fight ,.. no shit he wouldnt last. but lets flip it lets put anyone of those flighters in a boxing match,.. they would get their head caved in period. so that is not really the point of our convo. by the way iceman in nothing but a boxer and he has done well in mma , he just has good take down defense. the point is for mma people to respect boxing cause their sport is based on it
actually chuck did, kempo karate ,kickboxing, and collegiate wrestling.he wasnt jst a boxer with good take down defense.Though im a mma fan i have mad respect for boxing as a combat sport
Honestly I believe MMA requires more skill than boxing... In MMA you have to be skilled in stand up and ground. In boxing you will have to worry in stand up. Also, in a boxing match you just need to focus on your opponents hands only, so you wont get tagged. In MMA you need to focus on your opponents hands, elbows, knees etc.
i agree boxing is very important however it isnt the most important element in all around fighitng. you gotta know how to leg check or else a kickboxer will turn your legs into dust, you gotta have takedown defense because a wrestler will pound you unconcious on the ground, and submission defense because a jiu jitsu master WILL RAPE YOU!!!
If u don't have ground game u will not survive...we have guys at the bjj school I attend that transferred from stand up combative sports...boxing, tae kwondo, muay tae, etc that admit when it comes to ground fighting....its a whole different ball game.I have respect for maywether...but until he steps out his comfort zone and back up his talk...then he needs to chill...I've never heard a mma fighter bash boxing...if anything they have respect for it.

fighting is combat between two people to establish dominance.

My one friend and who playing around boxing and grappling.
sinusbradycardia 6 months ago
@intactGB I'm 38 and I don't have too much longer left if I would want to learn a ground game and I'm not talking for competition, just for self defensive. All though I have a concealed weapons permit, but I would not want to shot anyone and I would only fight to protect my wife and children. They are the only thing worth fighting and/or dying for. Peace.

You just aren't on Mayweather's level.

@MistNin You are right, but he isn't that far below me.
christopheradavid 10 months ago
@christopheradavid I am sure that's flattering and all for you, but you haven't captured a noteworthy title in your entire career at Bantamweight for a legitimate organization in North America. Your record is what? 13-9? You don't even belong in the same league as a future Hall of Famer like Floyd Mayweather.
Keep hunting for a payday you will never see. Better tryout for the next season of the Ultimate Fighter if ever hope to make it in the UFC. Scott Jorgensen > You.
MistNin 10 months ago
@MistNin That was some 5 years ago. We are both much better fighters, but it was a fight show casing both our skills.
christopheradavid 9 months ago
@MistNin The deal is, it wouldn't take a "great" mma fighter to take out Mayweather. He's a great boxer, but once put on the floor, I have a feeling his next move would be fetal position... tap out.

Great video though.
MistNin 10 months ago
No offense to you, Mr. david --I have mad respect for Sacramento fighters, however, you haven't accomplished 1/3rd of what Mayweather has in your own sport. You think calling out a five division champion will get you a fight? Keep on dreaming, my friend. We Youtuber's know you are more than capable of handling yourself in a fight. You just aren't on Mayweather's level. Sorry.
MistNin 10 months ago
Ummm Mr.David sorry to rain on your Parade bro I do Capoeira-N-Muay Thai
but dude you really think you can stand with Mayweather?
Just cause you can deliver Kicks, and take it to the ground don't mean nuthing
because if you can't get past Mayweather's Defense then your gonna fall into being his Pawn in the Ring the guy has incredible speed as well
and can strike from any Angle as well
Even if you do attempt to get him to the ground, what makes you think he may not know a thing or too?
Bizzybone187 1 year ago
@Bizzybone187 It is a simple conclusion I have drawn from the premises listed in the video. Of course one could argue against my claim. Actually, this is more of a rebuttal in the first place, to what Mayweather said about MMA fighters. I know that he is too scared to fight me, but the purpose of this video is to get enough exposure that I know he knows I am calling him out.

no hate to MMA (i watch it) but Chris Davis vs Floyd in a MMA fight it can go either way cuz chris punches would be like slow motion to floyd but chris can do take downs BUT in boxing floyd would murder chris in 1 round. former P4P for nothing ya know
kpkopo 1 year ago
so a no-name in MMA calls out the best p4p boxer in the world?

Make the switch, before it is too late.
christopheradavid 1 year ago
@christopheradavid ...And you! Yea you, dumbass!! Do you even know how much money Floyd has? Even if this bum in the video could beat Floyd in mma it doesnt matter cuz his scrub ass will never be graced by the opputunity to fight him. spideycentz 1 year ago
After all. MMA is not a sport; it's a way of life.
christopheradavid 1 year ago
@christopheradavid Get inna boxing ring with not even Floyd but your average boxer with boxings rules youd get destroyed. Why would a boxer fight mma? If boxings so easy lets see you try 1 boxing match and ill laugh at u once youve been ko'ed
spideycentz 1 year ago
@spideycentz Or enter a pool tournament with a pool shark and I'll get the table run on me. I have no shame with that. I actually have nightmares of being in the box, with no grip control, no clinch game, no kicks and all. My purpose is too unite combative sports in to one. Boxing has long been developed in recent times, but the arts have long been practiced and kept in their own form. MMA has united all the arts. Boxing is incorporated as karate or wrestling: a mere component. I recognized this
christopheradavid 1 year ago
@spideycentz
why would a boxer fight mma? - to be a REAL fighter.
the real question is why he hell would an mma fighter want to fight in boxing?
it would be a step backwards rather than forwards...this is why boxers need to fight in mma...to move forward and evolve as fighters.
why put limits on your self?

Chris David must have bumped his head, is a MMA fighter conditioned to fight 12 rounds?? A boxer hands are registered, they will kill a MMA fighter specially with the skills Mayweather has. . .get a grip Chris David
Gigantor60 1 year ago
@Gigantor60 Twelve 3min rounds with a minute rest in between equals 36mins of boxing with 11mins rest. Five 5min rounds with a minute rest equals 25mins of fighting with only 4mins rest. I'm doing the math, and no matter how you look at it, the near 3 times as long rest given doesn't really make the few extra minutes of competition substantially greater. They are both impressive and your intended point wouldn't undermine the fact of the video: Floyd Mayweather will never back up his words.
christopheradavid 1 year ago
@christopheradavid man he spars 15 minute rounds with middleweights and super mws moving in at all times with no breaks--he is flexible and he adapts to any fighter, no matter what style--he trains all year round and he's really a 15 round fighter-you wouldn't last long with him at all and you know it--floyd's best attribute is his timing--he'll catch you at will, and i know you'll attempt to take him down and choke him out, but that fukker is strong--he's a gym rat-he'll kill you kid--

BLooDCalibuR2 1 year ago
Furthermore, you admit they don't excel at any given single art, including striking, especially punching, but from the looks of it, UFC and the other MMA fighters in sports today haven't even reached a high level of their own sport's would-be skill level. Currently, all of them suck at striking and their SHELTERED ZONE is to clinch and take down to the ground. In the ground, it's either fighter's win depending on who gets the right hold and defends well. The striking becomes less to worry about.
BLooDCalibuR2 1 year ago
Sports-legal MMA is still extremely far away from the reality of a street fight with an MMA street fighter.
You say sports-MMA is an accumulation of all and takes more skill than boxing because of that. Yet you admit they don't excel at any one skill, especially striking. Sometimes the limitations of one can mean the upwards level of the skill-cap of that activity, that's what you fail to think about.
BLooDCalibuR2 1 year ago
I train with boxers and that Boxing stance get killed in MMA thats they never use that stance...
SkywarpMach7 1 year ago
@SkywarpMach7 MMA is a mixture of a boxing stance, Muay-Thai and Wrestling. If you have a solid wrestling stance you'll get kicked in the face, a solid boxing stance will get kicked in the legs and if you can't change levels, like with a "light foot" Muay-Thai stance you will get taken down. It is truly an accumulation of all the arts.

SkywarpMach7 1 year ago
@SkywarpMach7 That's good. Cardio is essential. The best means to achieving the best cardio is mma practice. Sometimes, just wrestling, or just bjj, or just kick-boxing, or whatever, but you can't emulate it through any other exersize solely.
christopheradavid 1 year ago
@christopheradavid
SkywarpMach7 1 year ago
@SkywarpMach7 Yup. Much respect all around, but MMA is harder. I have a wrestling background, which was hella hard, but it's harder than that, too.
christopheradavid 1 year ago

BJ Penn has one of the best educated jabs in the business, he has terrific timing, unfortunately he was outboxed by Edger, and pride may have stopped him from attempting to take down Edger.

przanj24 1 year ago
wrong...there is no boxing in MMA, there is striking but there is no boxing...Go look up "Floyd Mayweather Training"...this specific one has the song "day and night" playing....watch him shadow boxing about 1:30 sec in. Then go film yourself or watch yourself in a mirror. It's not about what you do, it's about the cleanliness of how you do it, I guarantee you won't be close. I can appreciate your a bounty hunter of the sport, but Floyd is the only Jedi Knight of fighting in this generation.
przanj24 1 year ago
And what does Chuck do in the 3rd round. Utilize his NCAA wrestling and shoot a perfectly executed double. Boxing is a great aspect of MMA. No one really argues that; maybe some do, but they shouldn't. But MMA encompasses everything. You need to be well equipped in all areas. Combat has become collective and those who don't jumpon the band wagon will fall behind.
christopheradavid 1 year ago
it's like right now..I'm watching Chuck Liddell and Silva, and they literally would have both been either knocked out or butchered by Floyd...and that's not me being biased whatsoever, I can just see the difference in speed, power, precision, and accuracy. The punch is the most coveted technique in fighting, hence Floyd being a master of, "Interception of the fist", if ya know what i mean
przanj24 1 year ago
The thing about Floyd is that he just puts himself in a position which no fighter can get through. Watch the Marquez fight, he turned a jab into a hook as soon Marq dropped his hands literally one inch. That's just unbelievable, do think you could jab, feint, and then drop your hands and take him down, much less catch him? He isn't just a boxer, he's a master of the only rule there is, what a man can do, and what a man can't do. he understands it better than any fighter in the world.
przanj24 1 year ago
Although I respect your opinions...I guess I'm waiting for a man like Mayweather in MMA. If you truly understand boxing, you'll know for certain he is truly one of the greatest (if not no.1) in a hierarchy that has been around at the highest level for over 150 years(modern commissions). The man is untouchable in a boxing ring....I think he could be taken down, but my concern for an MMA fighter would just be sheer speed....and smarts.

What's the song? I like it. Keep up the ass whoopins chris, big ups. Mayweather is a fuckin' pussy, he just needs to shut his face. If he was any kind of man he would back up his shit talk.

don't come to Floyd with this fucking bums. Fucking jokes
bogdanioan123 2 years ago
lol you and Ville GET FLOYD
chadofdajungle 2 years ago
That's right.
christopheradavid 2 years ago
He'd probably beat him. As great of a boxer as Mayweather is, it doesn't make him a great grappler.
He'd get taken down and submitted. Pretty simple.

Materpiece my ass ...Mayweather will never do an MMA bout.
boxingfanofthegame 2 years ago
I've never even heard of this fuckin guy .. lol ..
boxingfanofthegame 2 years ago
I know Mayweather wouldn't do MMA, as I wouldn't do boxing.
christopheradavid 2 years ago
But everything I mention in videos such as me never being knocked out, submitted or TKOed, never losing off US soil, retiring 6 professional MMA fighters and a few more fun facts are all truths. I am self promoting, because I have no manager or anyone else to do it for me. Thanks for checking me out. I hope you remember me when you see me.

I wish you luck dude .. I'm an amatuer Boxer.
boxingfanofthegame 2 years ago
Thank you. I wish you the same. Competition in the ring makes strong willed individuals.
christopheradavid 2 years ago
You have my respect.. Any man who steps in the ring.. cage.. Especially on your level. You gotta admitt Mayweather is a wizard with the handz..
boxingfanofthegame 2 years ago
I challenge him because of his recognized achievements as do I challenge the entire bantamweight division in MMA, mainly higher ranked individuals than me.
christopheradavid 2 years ago
If I don't create a buzz for myself, then I can't expect another to do so. I mean, really, if you aren't your own biggest fan then you have to depend on some other source of your being promoted. I can imagine someone having some bigger source that fountains into the media in due time, but initially, you gotta believe in yourself first. Sounds kinda lame, maybe: cliche. But it's real shit, my take on it anyway. Thanks for your input and sharing of thoughts.

There actually profession boxer in the ufc !
greeno78 2 years ago
why not mma fighters in boxing? o thats right... they would die
angerboy2957 2 years ago
I think that we have established that. Boxing, like all the specialty sports are not for MMA fighters. Just like I would never make it as a boxer, was only half good at karate, went O-2 at the California College State Tournament and 0-1 at the Gracie Open, second string football player through high school, not fast enough to go anywhere in track, baseball, soccer, all the rest. We fight because it's about putting everything together.

I am an athlete, it's just no sport utilized me to the full potential, thus I repeatedly failed. If there was something else for me, maybe I would be doing it. This is the only thing I can do.
christopheradavid 2 years ago
boxing is just plain sports, what would you do if you all know is punching, even though you are a professional boxer, you would die when you encounter a beginner MMA fighter, all they have to do is to take you down and your dead end of story.
zanpaktuh 2 years ago
zanpaktuh you dont know too much about combat sports lol. just watch ray mercer vs tim sylvia this will show you how dangerous boxers are. Boxing owns mma peace
angerboy2957 2 years ago
I like your vid, you brought up mainly very good points. There's even a great example of a one dimensional japanese shoot wresler, nobuhiko takada, who had a dominant career in japan and then when he switched over to MMA, he got pummeled, due to lack of proper MMA training, being in his 30s, and different fight protocols in MMA
swimmerinstinct 2 years ago
Also for who wrote Floyd never disrespected MMA...he sure did. You should look at the interview.
houstoneslug713 2 years ago
the most exciting thing about mma is the stand up , lets examine this what is stand up ? its striking,.. ok what is striking? boxing. so for all the shit dana white is talking the best part of his sport is the sriking part no one wants to see 2 grown men wrestling and grabbing each others balls. respect boxing cause mma wouldnt exist with out it
ARMONI555 2 years ago
striking is not just boxing....its feet, knees, elbow etc
houstoneslug713 2 years ago
sure when your in range,... but when your not , your boxing and people love that the most about mma. so if boxing/striking is the best part of mma. how can anyone diss boxing..(and by the way a lot of fighters dont kick they considor it to be girly)
ARMONI555 2 years ago
But now boxing is just not the same I dont hear of any good fights anymore.
houstoneslug713 2 years ago
why in the world would anyone put flyd in a mma fight ,.. no shit he wouldnt last. but lets flip it lets put anyone of those flighters in a boxing match,.. they would get their head caved in period. so that is not really the point of our convo. by the way iceman in nothing but a boxer and he has done well in mma , he just has good take down defense. the point is for mma people to respect boxing cause their sport is based on it
ARMONI555 2 years ago
hey armoni555 good point
lionheartodd 2 years ago
actually chuck did, kempo karate ,kickboxing, and collegiate wrestling.he wasnt jst a boxer with good take down defense.Though im a mma fan i have mad respect for boxing as a combat sport
sloter21 2 years ago
yeah but he doesnt utilize any of that stuff really he just boxes in his mma fights.
ARMONI555 2 years ago
He shot a nice double on Wanderlei Silva
christopheradavid 2 years ago
he also got in a nice head kick on babalu
sloter21 2 years ago
Honestly I believe MMA requires more skill than boxing... In MMA you have to be skilled in stand up and ground. In boxing you will have to worry in stand up. Also, in a boxing match you just need to focus on your opponents hands only, so you wont get tagged. In MMA you need to focus on your opponents hands, elbows, knees etc.
houstoneslug713 2 years ago
but mma fighters dont know how to box and boxing is more than just standing up it requires foot work timing and positioning and precision punching
lionheartodd 2 years ago
i agree boxing is very important however it isnt the most important element in all around fighitng. you gotta know how to leg check or else a kickboxer will turn your legs into dust, you gotta have takedown defense because a wrestler will pound you unconcious on the ground, and submission defense because a jiu jitsu master WILL RAPE YOU!!!
