Anette's a soprano,too, it seems. But she sounds like a Mezzo - Tarja was lyric, if not a deeper one now days ( she sounds more like it, when age got her voice less girly-like. )

But the band only became different, just like when the Fantasy themed things started to have a more dark side, and now, witouth Tarja, they just got less operatic. It's Nightwish's evolution, and only that.

Great Great band just was turned on to them recently and it's been all I listened to lately..I hear the debate over which singer was better alot,Tarja was awesome but the new singer Arnette is very good as well..In a perfect world be nice to have Tarja return ..But Nightwish will still be strong without her..My only question is..What happened why the split? Cant seem to find two opinions online why they booted her out..

If you listen to the Nightwish side of it, Tarja became too involved with her husband and solo projects. This did not bode well with the band when it came to composing songs, especially when Tuomas kind of needs everybody where they need to be when they need to be there. Thus, they fired her and found somebody who could make time to actually be there when they are suppose to be and help out as needed. Tuomas is more of a "composer." It is hard to compose when you are missing a valuable piece.

They have it all on the open letter at Nightwish's site. And her husband made an answer to the fanquestions I can't seem to find, thought. But all the fans I've heard still say, agree, and comprove live : her husband is quite the businessman. Doesn't let her give autographs for free,etc.
