  • Saw this in Steven Wilson's playlist on his website. I can always trust that man's opinion.

  • dåli assa:)

  • I recently discovered this band and I'm next to having their entire discography. Amazing sound all the way.

  • This was recorded by me in 2000 at The Clovelly Bowling Club for THE Pulse Doco, Hilton Cordel & the ABC, the CD is out on Jazz Groove/ABC

  • this is amazing, thank you, I am so glad I found this... thsi is instantly my new favorite band to listen to

  • @A7X7777777 pure ignorance

  • @KsEngag3d

    Pure opinion, jackass.

  • These guys blew my mind away at their gig on Jan 27th at The Bakery. I'm serious, my mind was in pieces on the floor after they'd finished, they were that amazing. I am NEVER going to miss these guys every time they're in town.

  • Nick Caves Freind's are now listening to The Necks because Nick endorsed them with Holy water.

  • Nick Caves Fiends are now on to the Necks because Nick Cave endorsed them with Holy water.

  • A m a z i n g !!!

  • They are truely a gift to music ..

  • amazing! Proud owner of 8 of their albums, seen them play live at the Sydney Opera House - awesome! Thanks for posting this, tickets booked for the barbican late June

  • Recently discovered this band. Absolutely superb. This is the music I've been looking for all these years!

  • repetition and slowly evolving repetitious states are present in many musical forms, prog rock, jazz, and "probably" initially indegenous, pre-colonial societies throughout the world, inviting man to a trance status, and what is believed to be a higher understanding through certain brain-waves or higher beings' blessings.

  • only heard Next, will be looking into their music a bit more

  • anyone who digs this should check out Nik Bärtsch's Ronin...very similar. modal compositions that build wonderfully. kudos for posting!

  • excuse me but this song is on any cd ? or its just played live without recordings?

  • @nadiemetiene It's all improvised mate. Every song is a once only.

  • Foolish person.

  • i just don't understand why you have to insult their work :(

  • Fantastic, as tehy are live. As simple as that. Los mejores.

  • see through...

  • awesome trio, hypnotic

  • The Necks are incredible... i am seeing them tomorrow!!!... can't wait!!

  • Zjawiskowa muzyka. Nie można się od niej oderwać. Mam jedną płytę i słucham jej na kolanach.

  • Any Aussie jazz fans have any Benny Featherstone?

  • Abillera.

    Enough said.

  • i once was talkin with llyod, and he told me about how the music of "the necks" is "composed": "there is just on rule: someone has to start"

    thats great music!

  • i saw them live at the sydney opera house last week, it was an amazing experience, the albums just dont compare to the live experince!

  • Anyone else notice that this has been poorly edited over in post-prod?

  • Tony Buck is a real inspiration for me as i also play open handed. his really cool.

  • This band changed my life!

  • pure perfection... the necks don't make music... they make oceans and waves, mists of forest, gentle winds and sunrays through my soul... i'd love to feel them live again

  • Amaaaaazing!

Hanging Gardens is still my favourite piece by them.

  • simple and complex at the same time!

    beautiful...

  • Thats ridiculously sweet! Super-tight. Got the Can buzz as well off these chaps, its all about the drumming.

  • grazie

questo è l'unico video AL MONDO dei the necks!

Thanks so much for posting this.

  • grazie hoolythebold

è l'unico video AL MONDO dei the necks!

    i miei musicisti jazz preferiti

    grazie

  • the necks! heroes of music.

I love that these guys don't fall into the category either of musicians playing music purely for an audience or musicians playing music for themselves. They are neither and i think it's a very noble thing to play music for musics sake where the only deciding factor is the flow of the music itself.

  • the necks are out there all on their own, truly one-of-a-kind. one of the finest bands on the planet and the true heirs to the early masters of extended group impro, CAN. funnily enough, when I pointed CAN out to lloyd swanton some years back, he hadn`t even heard of them - which I found quite hilarious. gotta love these guys!

  • Love, love these guys! Thanks so much for posting this.

  • AWESOME! the necks is definitely one of the most dynamic bands around.
