Very nice, I am just checking some videos of walking robots because I'm planning on making one. I thought about using 4-bar mechanisms too! but the ones I had planned were a little different. Why don't you add some sensors and stuff? It'd be nice ^^
I did try with the gear worm with previous "walker" versions, but I don't like to use it as erodes the gears more than the regular ones. I do use the worm gear for low-torque applications.
Ahah! Legos. You should cap the ends so that the legs don't grind down from the friction and rough surfaces and for the extra traction and weight. Also, it looks like the back legs dragged a bit much. Did the Lego set come with the cell or did you have to add that on after?
LEGO sells a solar cell for their kits, but I was not able to sell my arm to buy it. I got the solar cell from a garden light and glue a LEGO connector to it.
Olá. Montei o relógio com PIC do seu site. Ficou excelente. Gostaria de saber se existe uma maneira de desinverter os displays de minutos, pois uso display colados e não tem como separá-los. outra coisa: fala português ou spañol? :-) Obrigado! . Opps: Uso o relógio em minha sala.

I propose you substitute the rear 2 legs for a single wheel. Slap a servo on that wheel and you can steer it a bit too. Just an idea.

It just doesnt wanna give up! :) Did you try the lego solar cell?
Zblj1987 2 years ago
No, I was not able to get the Lego Solar Cell. Quite expensive, so I did cut one lego wire and attached it to a regular solar cell.
JosePino 2 years ago
Have you tried using the worm gear to transfer the power from the motor to the leg gears. It' might give you more torque and a more fluid motion.

All that power of that small solar panel? Wow! What voltage and amperage controls?
MrStealth4 2 years ago
Solar cell: 3.5 Volts ( 4.4 full sunlight) about 20 mA)
