Does anyone have the 2002 Jubilee video of the classic car parade down the Mall? There were decorated lorries as well, one of which held a man inside a red phone box! There used to be a video on YouTube for a long while but it disappeared a few weeks ago.
I wonder if there is any Head of State in the world that is as respected, admired and loved by his/her subjects as Queen Elizabeth seems to be. While knowing that a constitutional monarchy may not be suitable to every country - and it is certainly not to my country Brazil - we would all like to be represented by someone as distinguished as she is.
This is what it is all about being BRITISH. No one else could bring over a million people to the streets in unity. How lucky are we to have this woman Lead us for 60 years.

i hold some respect for the queen herself, but the institution of monarchy is democratically indefensible. so long as the monarch reigns but does not rule then it will last for the time being, but as soon as any of them start interfering (in anticipation of charles) in democracy the brits will start putting their trust in a godless constitution like the americans do rather than an alliance of crown, church, military and state.

Of course, she must obey the constitution (based on tradition, key legislation, etc), but she is the boss, and politicians must treat her like the boss. Figurehead! i hold some respect for the queen herself, but the institution of monarchy is democratically indefensible. so long as the monarch reigns but does not rule then it will last for the time being, but as soon as any of them start interfering (in anticipation of charles) in democracy the brits will start putting their trust in a godless constitution like the americans do rather than an alliance of crown, church, military and state.

Of course, she must obey the constitution (based on tradition, key legislation, etc), but she is the boss, and politicians must treat her like the boss. Figurehead! Yes, It is apparent that the Queen was over whelmed by all that affection shown her. It so deserved and earned. I am so looking forward the 60th coming up in less than 2 years plus the Olympics at the same time. It will just rock in London.
To think the Press ran with a royal flop story for 2 years prior to this event.
