Japanese are cool but I will never visit because of their cruel slaughtering of whales. Something is wrong with people who take pleasure in killing such majestic creatures.
Obviously I do care about the culture of human beings. Japan is a culture that condones the killing of whales- and I care about that. I think it's tragic. Have you ever seen a whale? Have you ever seen a whale butchered? Maybe if you had you might be a bit more sensitive to the issue.
@ar4216 hmm, maybe you shouldn't judge a culture based on a useless animal. boo frickin hoo. there are HUMANS being slaughtered right now in war. I think THAT'S tragic.
Wow, your attitude is really sad. Such an astonishing lack of compassion. You know, just because someone cares about the well being of other species doesn't mean they don't care about humanity. In fact, most serial killers grow up abusing animals. People who don't care about other animals tend to be assholes who don't care for people either.
@ar4216 way to make an irrelevant statement to your argument. because I'm pretty sure that the whaling in Japan has absolutely NOTHING to do with serial killers. if this was true, I guess I better watch out for my sushi chef friend and make sure all of us don't start dropping like flies. don't get me wrong, I in no way shape or form condone someone to go bash their household pet's skull in. anyways. I'm done here.
yeah I know but at 0:26 you can see the layout of the cameras, how the bottom two are on their lower leg, but at 2:20 you can see them bend their leg up so the projector would be pointing up, yet the projection stays on the screen.
That this whole thing is a hoax? I highly doubt that.
Again. What's your point? I saw the layout of the cameras. But if you look again, closer, you'll see that some of the cameras are not put flat against the body, but leveled. And there's always the possibility that around 1;37-1;40 that the cameras were moved around. (I think that the men just took pictures, but hell, it's a possibility)
That was maybe one of the coolest things I've ever seen. If it wasn't faked. Those kids were rotating their hands around. There's no way that the projections would have stayed on screen the way they were rotating their wrists. And, at the very beginning of the dancing, you can see some projections on the audiences' heads, and at frame 2:49 the projection for the kid on the left is pointing the complete wrong way. I wanted to like it a lot more.
I have to hand it to Japan. "Helicopter Boyz" is the weirdest name to give to a group that sings/dances or a combination of that with default styled electric techno music. Bonus points for costumes and shutter shades.
These kids are just marketing tools hired by Nikon to promote their new camera, coolpix. w/ projection. I mean I guess the phone could be cool to show your friends titty pics from the previous night. However, the commercial seemed like some kiddie porn's dream show. =X
there is NO WAY those little pico projectors are strong enough to do the job to my knowledge... there is bigger tech happening behind the scenes to showcase the concept of a projector on teh camera... i don't think you're really watching projections from each camera. check when forearms arm obscured and knees are lifted... really great show though. i want 15 nikon's now. well done
I would agree with this. There is no way the projectors would be so stable on them when they are dancing around like that. At 0:26 you can see the layout of the cameras, how the bottom two are on their lower leg, but the 2:20 you can see them bend their leg up so the projector would be pointing up, yet the projection stays on the screen. Nifty idea, if it were real.
@ turbo2ltr : I'm with you. i paused at several points throughout this video and it looked like motion tracking was indeed happening, but NOT projections from pico projectors on the boys. also, i'm still assuming pico projector's aren't bright enough to look that good, even on specialized projection material as someone suggested. i dunno why people gave you thumbs-down for your comment buddy, i am in total agreement.
it is certainly a special front projection material, i use different projection materials often (I do lighting/video staging) & still think pico projector's aren't bright enough to look so good. at the beginning, the projs are hitting a screen that is also lit by spotlights and the nikon's hold up well against those... well, i doubt they could. i think we're watching motion tracking with live visuals coming out of a good beamer... i'd love it if it were real. i'm a skeptic.

whoop dee doo!! how much did people pay to see a couple of kindergartners with motorized beanies shake their small buttocks while giant cubes of crap mimic them from behind. 1,500 yen! wow that's a freaking discount!
