  • can one of you Jerks tell me what video of the man being beaten along the wall is about? Thanks

  • maybe the best industrial song EVER

  • good point bro

  • My equal favorite Skuppy song of all time... (other one is "Tormentor" off Too Dark Park)... Skinny Puppy can go from "weird pop" (see above) to utter noise music (i.e. "Convulssion" off Too Dark Park). Whatever you may say about Skinny Puppy, they are anything but boring.

And those strings are just plain beautiful.

  • not pop more like industrial synth pop

  • best video ever and song

  • *industrial

  • Canadian indutrial rock innovators

  • My favorite music video of all time - I LOVE IT!

  • This is my normal day :)

    SP kicks ass

Check out Chunk Blower its on the Brap pack

around Rabies time. Bill Leeb from Front Line is in that one. Funny as hell....

Take care and thanks for posting an all time fave. MTV would have a heart attack with this one as they should anyway.

  • lolbludd

  • best viideo, best song ever NOW IS THE ONLY THING THAT IS REAL!!

  • to date, this has to be the most beautiful use of a vocoder i've ever heard! ...fantastic!! and hence rightly receives 5 stars. i won't comment on the video however, other than it's toss and SP really did deserve better - c'mon, a compendium of slash??? was this the product of some GCSE student project, kids who had no vision...no soul?!!!

  • This song is pure evil... pure genius

  • Just watched this video in the dark. Stupid dogs are barking outside and no-one else is home. Think im gonna lose my dinner.WtF

  • wow this is still chugging away :)

Since stage6 is down the High res version isnt available.

i Have re-edited/encoded a HD version but real life always takes precedence. I also have a complete reworked version with other classic slasher films completed, most likely i will release this coming halloween, i dont know..

  • What movie is the dark Thaired women tortured and beating to death while she is chained up backside facing a brick wall? After she is left to die all bloody and disfigured with a red rose on her and some pictures???

  • I think the only problem I have with the video is that it lacks a certain subtlety and depersonalization that mad the original great. Other than that, though, excellent remake.

  • Thank you so much for the effort put into reworking this video. I remember years and years ago trying in vain to get it on VHS (remember them?), and only finally seeing a shitty version at a friends house.

    Thankyou

  • The kings of Music. Fact not fiction!

  • their best song.

  • i like it!!!! :D

  • iNDUSTRIALLLLLLLL

  • anyone know what movie thats from at 3:37?

  • Some of the scenes come from Peter Jackson's film Bad Taste...

  • At 3:37 that would be Tenebre by Dario Argento.

  • that scene with the woman with her arm bleeding? i don't think that was in tenebre, i have that movie and don't remember seeing that.

  • That scene where the woman in a white dress paints the wall red with the blood of her severed arm? Without a doubt from TENEBRE. Best scene in a film full of them.

  • Can we get back to enjoying the video now?

  • (Continued from previous reply)

Not having spent time as a direct victim of censorship and oppression of ideas doesn't mean I can't see what a terrible thing it is.

You know, I think we're going back and forth here over some poorly chosen words on my part. I think we are more in agreement than would be implied by the last few posts. So, I will apologise for typing without thinking and hope I clarified what I was trying to get at a bit.

  • Maybe I have spent time in Soviet Gulasch. You don;t know. And it's that assuming style you have that started all this ridiculous talk. Now just fade away. It's growing boring.

  • You know, I don't buy that. If I were boring you, you would've just let things go when I tried to end this civilly. By taking one last shot at me, you've proven yourself to be petty and intolerant of other viewpoints. I don't know why I'm even wasting my time typing this.

By the way, a 33-year-old would've been, what, 15 or 16 during the *collapse* of the Soviet Union. I'm quite sure you were a political prisoner during puberty. Pull the other one. It's got bells on it.

  • I took the liberty of poking around to see what sorts of discussions you got yourself into in other videos, and it appears that across the board, from what I've seen, you make an arrogant, egocentric, sometimes inflammatory statement in reply to something and then dismiss any replies.

Whatever else you say after this is null and void. You are nothing but a troll and I sincerely regret keeping this going. You will be subsequently ignored. Good day.

  • get stuffed

  • yeah

  • The quote was not in the original = does not mean it isn't from Skinny.

You did not say "censorship ruins art" or you would not have gotten the response you did. Censorship....what do you know about what censorship can or can't do? Have you ever lived outside of the US? Do you know what that feels like? Having a foreign censorship board hacking away with no bounds? It violates your person.

Reread your initial response and you can clearly see it required the proverbial punch back at you.

  • Ok. Perhaps I chose to say the wrong things initially.

I accepted the 'censorship ruins art' angle without actually saying so; I was more focused on the pervasive and arbitrary nature of censorship and what it can lead to if left unchecked. An extension of the former idea, really. Replace 'art' with 'people' or whatever.

I don't live in the US and I don't need firsthand knowledge of unfettered censorship to know what it can do. Have you spent time in a Soviet Gulag? Neither have I.

  • Yeah you took it too personally. It's not something to debate. As stated it's abuot censors destroying art. Listen to the end quote idiot. It explains everything. Now fuck off. You're worthless arguement is wasting my time.

  • That quote was never in the original video. If you'll notice, this is a recreation.

By the way, I never said that you were wrong. I happen to agree that a major point this video makes is that censorship ruins art. I'm just saying that additionally, it brings to attention just how arbitrary that censorship is. How, precisely, does that make me an idiot?

Censorship can do a lot more than just destroy art.

Also, re. taking it personally, I'm not the one resorting to personal attacks.

  • fucing amazing!

  • This song is the shit! I have only heard one skinny puppy song before this, but this is one of my fav songs now.

  • 1982 actually. I didnt get to experience them til 88. 25 years ahead of their time, maybe more

  • worlock is the flagship for SP

  • Kids? This band started 1984. They invented this genere.

  • And someone who chooses "wiccamoon13" as a login knows ALL about trying to look evil. :P

Next time, do your homework. This vid is nothing BUT clips from horror movies spliced together. (Well, Dune's debatable...) That's kind of the point. They're trying to show just how fine the line is between what's acceptable and what isn't.

  • "They're trying to show just how fine the line is between what's acceptable and what isn't."

    Wrong.

It's about the censors destroying art. This video is a drop kick in their face for ruining so many pieces of art in our modern day.

  • Alright. Whatever.

Unless you're Ogre or someone else who was there, I'm not going to accept such a black-and-white response.

Think about what I said instead of just pooh-poohing everything that doesn't sound like your crusade against the Man.

Each of these clips made it past the censors individually, but nobody would play them all strung together like this. Does that not demonstrate the arbitrariness of what's deemed acceptable and what's not?

  • wow...very confusing

  • anyone remember seeing this video at Medusas when it was on School in Chicago?

  • What movie is the clip of what looks like an odd knife attached to the camera and banks upward from? Looks like it's in a study or something.

  • "Deep Red" directed by Dario Argento

  • "Deep Red" directed by Dario Argento

  • "Deep Red" directed by Dario Argento

  • Hey Justin Killer. NOw is the only thing that's real u idiot. I used to take acid and listen to this when i was a kid. best tripping band ever. and u might kill yourself if you're a stupid kid. i did. now im a ghost. boo bitches.

  • i havnt tried that yet but ive been planning on it (the acid and SP not suicide)

  • Skinny Puppy RULES.

    Long live the Kuffaar.

    .

    .

  • this is more of reason Skinny Puppy is so underated and unappreaciated. Because they are surreal, abstract, and dont care what anyone thinks. It is a revolution in the art of music.

  • Great song. Disgusting video. Yuk! Ministry has some grisly images at the shows sometimes, but this creeps me out.

  • Not a gore-porn fan I take it then? :P What with Rotten and Saw, this sort of stuff doesn't seem that shocking anymore.

  • one of best song ever!

  • Interesting!

  • BEST VIDEO EVER!!

  • The only thing that's real

  • also the quote 'now is the only thing thats real' is in an old marilyn manson and the spooky kids song, it says'you cant prove anything that happend yesturday....now is the only thing thats real', i think so anyway....

  • i just noticed in the background around 3:30 you can hear charles manson singing helter skelter, i only just noticed that, and i've watched this video about 20 times, lol

  • i just noticed in the background around 3:30 you can hear charles manson singing helter skelter, i only just noticed that, and i've watched this video about 20 times, lol

  • this is quite possibly the best video i have ever seen on youtube!!! nice one!!!! :)

it evoked a lot of pain, suffering, feelings, and emotions, it made me want to crumple to the floor and convulse and spasm! very powerfull!

  • I feel this is one of Skinny Puppy's best songs. It was not long after this that a Canadian writer (can't think of his name you would have to look it up under Eolake Stobblehouse interview then look for NIveke Ogre but I am not sure of the spelling) did an interview with the Singer that is rotting in this video :) very cool and interesting

  • holy shit do I feel old, or rather young again!!

  • a band that hits so hard with truth that every video gets banned. YOU HAVE TO RESPECT THAT ^_^

  • Skinny Puppy is so under-rated

  • Dick Vitale at 3:18??

  • ...8D HOLY CRAP!! Awesome video for a KICKASS song. Skinny Puppy <33333 What movies are all the clips from? I've never seen any of them and I'd love to after this lol

  • There's info on Wikipedia. I think they're mainly from banned/underground films or director's cuts or something.

  • Sweet thanks!

  • Peter Jackson directed a movie called Bad Taste and some of the clips in this video are from that movie. There is also a portion of the video with the lead singer rotting wierd and cool.

  • Those clips (of the singer covered in blood and being slapped around) are taken from the Skinny Puppy video "Stairs and Flowers", although that video was in black and white.

  • The blood splatter from Tenebrae is still awesome to this day, I never get tired of seeing that shot, it was an awesome moment.

  • so a bunch of pirated clips from horror movies... including "bad taste?" i need to see the movies there that i don't recognize.

  • ahuevo also ministry cabrones

  • excellent originality

  • originality? its clips from films.

  • !!!!!BRAP!!!!!

  • I love the fetus at the beginning.

  • I remember seeing this video when I was in high school (my friend had a grainy videotaped copy) and officially having my mind blown. It still holds up almost 20 years later. Thanks for posting.

  • One of my all time favorite songs from Puppy

  • Cringe.

    SP kills.

  • skinny puppy...........ive been wanting to see this vid for ages, worth the wait, always a fan..........go the puppy.

  • Flagged for a reason :P

    I was like "comon, it's a clip..."

  • resent that discontent sidestep!

  • omg tis video raged!!

  • I've been reading the lyrics, but I still can't seem to understand it. Any help? :P

  • go buy rabies and read them

    XD

  • I've read them both in Rabies and online... it's the theme (message) I don't get.

  • Coming from cyberskelet0n, that is. (Logged on on wrong account! XD)

  • I always thought the lyrics simply evoked images of horror film scenes. And also "Tore pen in vain" is supposed to evoke "Tore vein open." I just realised that the other day, maybe you already knew XD

  • They use clips from Bad Taste, Evil Dead 2, and the Plague Dogs in their videos. This band sure has great taste in movies!

  • I also caught some scenes from Eraserhead and Suspiria in the mix, and maybe another Argento film "Opera". Maybe I'm a disturbed little creature, but I like this vid!

  • Sick just as it should be, Skinny Puppy Rules.

  • brutal

  • if you think this is brutal, watch the original video for this song. it's atleast twice as gory

  • sweetass ill have a look is it on youtube?

  • i think so. i know it was on google video a while back.

  • this version only seems a little more tone down

unless theres a completely diff version

    if there is link please

  • if there's a version more intense, there's no way its going to be on youtube.

  • Holy shit... this is why i love Skinny puppy

  • the video is eye-catching i always thought they could make a video that was more about the content of the song.....

but they really have been doing that....this was a unique circumstance, circustance...hehe

i had to hear this song...its very inspirational...

  • if you like this you should check out their vid collection titled "Ain't it dead yet", believe me its a head trip. Along with their cd called brap Back+Forth theres an interactive multimedia dvd so you can watch videos from them on the computer

  • Sick video! SP's one ov my favorite bands!

  • one of my all time favorite band and all time favoite songs vivisection is still evil

  • this is freaking awesome

  • The video does not do this song any justice in terms of the depth of emotion it's trying to convey.

  • What movie are the scenes with the military guy getting tortued from?

  • This video is not fanmade, nor is it the original video for Worlok. This video was part of the backing footage for Worlok from when Puppy toured for "Too Dark Park". I saw the tour in Houston Texas in 1992.

  • The Original Worlock video was made and edited by Ogre kind of a way to pay homage to the horror film genre, and also as a response to censorship at that point and time in the media industry. but it was also used as a backing film during the TDP tour. one of the reason they never official released it was due to an x-rating because of the graphic violence and the other reason was due to legal reasons and them violating copyright infringement

  • A brilliant use of found video to create a disturbing experience. Just the juxtaposition of imagery can turn the stomach. An incredibly important video.

  • this might've scared me when i was in sixth grade but i guess fake gore/death dosent scare me

  • wow, it's been awhile since i've seen something so visceral.

  • Atlas!?!?

  • a view so cruel

  • ::locking doors::

  • lol..I like this comment. =)

  • ew, fuckin morbid . nice song anyway

  • absolutley brilliant

  • So I go to play this video on yahoo video's and if anyone has done this, it tries to put "like" music on a list for you to play. The next video on the list for me was Andrea Bocelli LOL. Talking about scary!

  • Still one of the best songs after so many years...

  • this is the best song off the rabies album

the album itself wasnt all that great but it was alright

  • The 'Stairway to Heaven' of industrial/ebm/whatever you want to call it.

  • Great song, great band. Thanks for posting.

  • ski.nny puppy. one of the greatest. great video

  • I LOVE this song. The video is pretty cool as well.

  • the wierdest fucking thing I have ever seen

  • sic video (as in good) needs more gore though.

  • Have you spotted Patrick Stewart in Lifeforce? :)

  • brutal, disgusting, love. i think al would want nothing more.

  • all time favorite video!

  • That is the GREATEST FUCKING MUSIC VIDEO EVER MADE!

  • skinny puppy are fucking gods

  • gosh!11111111111

  • same, i found this from yahoos scariest video

  • Me 2 lol

  • Same here.

  • very sickening video indeed by the physcotic maniac producer...where r the care bears?

  • I've seen worse. Trying working in the goriest places in the hospital: Emergency Unit, Trauma Center, Surgery, and the morgue. Now that's real life.

  • wow man, you are HARDCORE im gonna stop watching horror movies all together and just look at medical journals because THATS REAL LIFE

  • Are you mocking me?

  • I agree. This gore is artistic and entertaining, unlike things that actually cause harm.

  • I agree with Yahoo.

  • lol i looked at yahoo to #1 song

  • This was rated the scariest music video by yahoo

  • absolutely brilliant.

  • why thank you :)

  • muy bueno

como para comerse un asadito mientras lo ves

  • Now is the only thing that's real.

Live for today....there is no promise of tommorrow.

My favorite song by SP with a strong industrial influence from Al Jourgenson.

The Rabies album was probably their overall best in terms of Industrial.

For a band that was more EBM with a touch of goth, this was as close as they got to gritty industrial.

There is nothing better than the mix of deep emotional angst combined with gritty samples and hard rhythmic beats.

    Nothing better.

  • Went to the webpage provided in kjb86's comment. The page missed the clip from Near Dark. It's at the 4:39 mark, blink and you'll miss it. It's Bill Paxton wearing sunglasses with blood all over his mouth. Great video, I have the 12" somewhere around here.
