  • There's an optional French Press?! I'm Sold!!

  • You never lit it...booo

  • @iamtheav8r I broke it up into two separate vids. Search for "JetBoil Java". Enjoy!

  • HI YOYO!!!!!!!!! great video , especially the end.

  • @Benjamintierra haha! Oh, m'Yoyo... She was an incredible dog. Miss her!

  • haha 8:30

  • I love my jetboil.. It's is a coffee drinkers dream

  • Her dog took a pee in the background

  • best bit 6:40

  • Thank you. Very thorough video.

  • Ordered it and it works like a charm every time but i use it only in warm weather ... It came with the fry pan holder for use with other recipients and i use it mostly with the MSR 125 grams fuel canisters that gives a little more burn time . Actual burn time for me with the MSR 125 grams canister - a little over an hour . I also use it with the 450 grams canisters from Primus if i cook with the Flash ( two persons ) at my camp and i prefer 125 grams MSR canisters for use on the go .

  • Exactly what i been looking for!

  • This was a good demonstration of this stove, really nice job. I need to get one and have it ready for my next hiking trip!

  • Made of 100% awesome

  • its frigging titanium

  • @robomanism No it isn't.

  • okay.

  • I've actually found, with my jetboil, that if you put the fuel can face down when you pack it up that it prevents the bottom of the fuel can from rusting and staining the bottom of the pot with rust. You put the fuel can face down and that way the plastic cap on the top of the fuel cannister is the only thing that's touching the bottom of the pot.

  • @esiegel76 Good deal! It is very important to protect that inside coating to not scratch. +1!

  • @RoscoeBa will other brand canisters be compatible with the stove

  • @ccgamemaster75 Yes, I understand that regular canisters do fit.

  • @esiegel76 A friend of mine puts his fuel can in a thin plastic bag, but this also is a very good solution!

  • You convinced me . A little expensive but , by far the best system . I ordered it today ..

    Have a great day !

  • hi ros i live in the united kingdom and do alot of fishing and thanks to your videos i brought a jetboil flash and the maxpedition 12x5 bottle holder, anyway were do you get your jetpower canisters from cannot get them any over here and jetboil sell them but they come in a box of 100 and i don't need 100 do you no anywhere on the net that sell them i have tried everywhere and found nothink thanks again love your videos

  • I have one. Best thing ever invented. Its not just for camping/hiking. My job has me on the road alot. One day, one a Sunday, in the middle of NOWHERE, my car broke down. 1500 miles from home! I went into "camping" mode. My "go-bag" contains my Jet Boil, extra fuel, 15 Mountain House meals, crackers and other small snacks. I can survive for 5 days, if needed. I stayed camped on the side of the road for a short 24 hrs before I got help. Ate like a KING!.. Jet Boil. Never leave home without it!

  • 10 minutes to show us a kettle - you needed to fire it up with in 2 mins of shooting this video!

  • @theleemillsshow There's lots of other vids where you can go watch water boil. Now run along.

  • I'm on a Rock

  • @newpigeonguy haha. Yeah, I guess so.

  • I'm still hooked on white gas--but this is a fantastic review!! Thanks for making it!

  • @armoredpig Very cool, thx. Lotsa options out there. Glad you enjoyed it.

  • Also get a long utensil so you can reach the bottom with out burning your self. Long chop sticks

  • @voordalak That's a good point. Maybe use a stick to scoop those ole grinds out.

  • They are worth the money and you can get another addition to whitch enables you to use a pan for two.

  • @voordalak Yah, I've seen those full size kits on their site. Looks quick and useful.

  • jet boils are ok for short expoditions, but are a pain in the arse for anything seriouse, there such a bitch to clean and destroy fuel, primus miemer for me thank you verry much

    a fraction of the price

  • @bushcraftourway Awesome. I think the little fuel canisters last forever. But I see your point, if out for a longer expedition it might be large. I'll have to look up that primus thing. Does it use a different fuel type...?

  • @RoscoeBa the canister wont last forever, and yeah that primus stove uses the same fuel

  • I like this but 100 bucks is a little too much for me. I think I will stick to my alcohol stove. Great review though!

  • @nickwoo2 Thx alot Nick!

  • sweet video, cheers

  • @GBJ83 Many thx, GB!

  • Best JetBoil vids on youtube

  • @windflags Wow! That says alot, as there are tons of them out there! Many thx Windflags! ;-)

  • @RoscoeBa I purchased a jetboil (purple) to use at my work, I didnt have to figure out how to use it, & its fast, Thanks Roz

  • @pizzmor haha I hope this purchase was more fun than most! Now go make some coffee for you and your bubba, light up some cigars, and chew the fat on something! ;-) Enjoying your channel!

  • Well you did it. I went out and bought the jet boil. I got to thinking if I was ever where I did not want to be found and close to other that a stove would be faster for cooking. It would be lit for less time hence less lighting time, and no tell tale smoke. So I guess what I am trying to say is thanks. Maybe haha

  • @budvics Good deal, Vic. Hope it suits you on those long treks of yours. Let us know how it goes!

  • Wonder why so many folks just use them to make coffee? I know there's a coffee kit but it does great for heating up retort pouch's for a quick hot meal.

  • @DarthCelcius Maybe it really is a vehicle that drives coffee-addicted people to drink coffee no matter where they are! j/k Yes, it heats up all sorts of foods and has lots of uses. Me, I drink coffee. :-)

  • Watched a couple of these videos about the Jetboil. Think yours is best: to the point, no rambling on and informative. Very well done. I subbed to your channel as well.

  • @f0xmuld3r Thx a lot, Fox. I will keep that in mind. I too watch a zillion of YouTube vids and one does get a feel for what is watchable and what is not. +1! I appreciate it!

  • @RoscoeBa And guess what: I bought one myself. It's just excellent. Will post a vid on it soon: I found you can use it really well to make..... Hotdogs! You can put them standing up in there and heat them :-)

  • I really like wood powered stoves, but this is tempting.

BTW: I really like your reviews. very well done, sound is clear, explanation is to the point. Thanks a lot.

  • @XCritonX Great feedback for me, Criton. Thx!

  • Great design! picking up 2 very shortly! one for me and one for my dad!

  • that dog peed

  • Great review, thanks.

I like to make rice, and not instant rice either, does this stove simmer well without burning the bottom?

  • How safe is the fuel ? as far as carrying it around in your back pack, also how about fuel storage life? Can I get couple of fuel to store away until I need to use them?

  • good review, can you use other makes of gas canister? is the screw universal? thanks :)

  • I'm pretty sure it uses the normal size canister of any brnad. I think the JetBoil canister uses a fuel mixture that's optimized to work efficiently with their system but any one will do.

  • How much does this jetboil pcs weigh?

  • I think its 15 oz without the fuel.

  • hia yo yo and thanks for making these vids want to get into hicking/camping so there very informative :)

  • Gosh I really want one of these. I just bought the MSR Pocket Rocket, which should do just fine. But I'll be getting the Jetboil later in the year.

  • Good review. I have a slightly older model - black top and bottom, no heat indicator- but a dream to use and only weighs about a pound and a half, including the fuel canister. Can function well for two people, or even three in a pinch.

  • haha! Thx Wicc.

  • I'm impressed by the Jetboil Flash. I'm wondering how to make trhat coffe with it. Can u show us how to do it ?

  • Sure will. It's on my queue of vids I'd like to get out.

  • Alright we will wait for it :)

  • that has some good improvements, i have the older one and you can tell that they have reworked most things a little bit,

    and bt,

it works great, you can even hold it in your hand while you boil water , just be aware that if you ever want to use the cup in an open fire it will have no handle, and you can use it on ceramic hobs like a kitchen hob, because of the heat fins, and for eggs and bacon , i bought the jetboil saucepan which works a treat

  • Wow, yeah, I guess you can hold it in your hand. They sell a weird contraption that is a holder that can suspend from a tree branch to keep it up out of the snow. Very cool.

  • yeah i saw that, pretty pricey for what it is, if i need one im going to make it from a coathanger,

  • Would you recomend this jetoboil for camping with ATVs? I am gearing up now for some future camping. Nice review by the way. Wondering if you could fry some eggs or bacon.

  • JetBoil has a bigger cooking system that can be used with pots and pans. They sell them too. I'm not 100% certain but I think you can stick a pan on top of this PCS one too. I'd recommend this little thing for any type of use. Packs up easily and cools off fast.

  • I've been thinking about this system for years now but it seems to be a bit bulky and slightly overpriced where I live. Not sure if it is suitable for higher altitude mountaineering.

Thanks anyway, glad to have you back Roz

  • I've had my eye on it for a while too, Cynik. Not sure about the altitude factor. Thx!

  • LOL @ the dog laying a brick at 8:30

    Great video as always.

  • Oh golly, I knew that was bound to happen! She's in many of my videos. She's just taking a pee pee, right...?

  • Oh the doggy!!! Hi Yoyo!!!

You never did tell me her name :)

  • You're always so nice to my Yo, Frazer. She's so old...

  • I want one! What do they cost?

I'm going camping at the end of October with some friends and I'm in charge of gear (I'm the gear guy of the bunch) and we have limited space...4 guys and a VW Jetta! so one of these might work perfectly! Or we can cook on the fire....one or the other.

  • Sorry for the late reply Frazer, as you already went on your trip I suppose. They run $100 and can definitely hook up coffee for a group of guys. I say go for it!

  • Hey Roz, for good coffee on the go get VIA instant coffee from starbucks! I got a free sample and it's great! I keep it in my work bag so I can have good coffee at work on those long nights when you run out of coffee! The VIA coffee is basically extremely fine ground REAL coffee beans that dissolve in your hot (or cold) water! So VIA is real coffee not that junk instant crystals! It's amazing!

  • Yup, +1 on the VIA. I'm having a cup of it right now at my desk.

  • Roz, once again a very helpful video. This lightweight, easy to use system is going to make Lhakpa, my sherpa very happy!

By the way, was that an albino antelope walking around in the background towards the end of the video?

  • Shall I bring it over Friday for Happy Hour and make you some coffee, Bill??

  • Great video Roz great to see you on youtube agian

  • Thank you Peter!

  • cool nice little set up.

  • Yeah, they've got it packaged pretty well there with the internal storage of the components.

  • I need to get one and put it through its paces got lots of hiking coming up.

  • nice 5/5

  • Thx Budda. I still owe you a "Tagged" vid. I haven't forgotten.

  • You do the best reviews on the coolest products, I can't wait till mine arrives in the mail.

  • You must have received it by now. Suitin' ya?

  • Great video Jersey. The JetBoil is a great piece of gear. I'm really liking mine. I highly recommend picking up the pot stabilizer so you can use bigger pans with it.

    5/5

  • Ah, good tip. I may be progressing past coffee and may actually cook real food on it. Will check it out, Bill.

  • Nice vid. I didn't know they came out with a new version. I guess that's why I saw the old one on sale at a couple of different places.

It's nice to see the improvements. I have the original model and more than a few times let it boil without paying attention. It sucked trying to turn it off by the little knob while it boiled over.

The French press is great. I even use it for car camping, because you get coffee in a couple of minutes rather than waiting for a percolator.

  • Car kit is a great idea. I'm going to keep mine in the back of my car for those all day soccer tournaments or tailgating.

  • Nice Vid. what do these retail for?

I want to see some lunch cooking in it.

  • They run $100. Lunch cooking? My lunches get nuked in the microwave. lol j/k I could heat up some soup, good idea Simon.

  • Hey Roz! Was starting to think you had retired from vids! Welcome back. Great vid! Keep em coming!

  • Thx Jimbo. I've got some lost ground to catch up on.

  • Wow....Roz you said "it holds a liter"

    Is the states going metric?

I have noticed others in the u.s. have been using metric measurements.

    Good review.

    5*

  • Yeah, they sneak it in on us. Funny you caught me saying it. They sell coke in "liter" bottles etc. Its a way to get us to understand the measure. I know a pint of beer...

  • Nice Review Rozza :D

  • Hello dear Tinnie!

  • Roz, awesome review. I too have been eyeing this system ever since CJ did his review. I didn't know they had a new version. Again, great review and u have ben missing for too long. More reviews please!!!

  • Many thx Ron. I also got turned on to it via CJ and Magnum. Cool kit.

  • Great presentation!

  • Many thx Andrew!

  • Another great review...Thanks Roz

  • Thank you Charter! You're most welcome.

  • Something else to add to my 2012 survival kit.

    Thanks, Roz! Nice vid.

    5/5

    ATF

  • What's happening in 2012 that I'm supposed to know about...?? Looks like I'm almost prepared with my JetBoil though, eh?

  • Nothing.

The world is going to end... but that's about all. No biggie.

    ATF

  • Great your back! A very nice review!

  • Thx Peter!

  • Hi Roz! Nice review of the jetboil! Can't wait to see it in action!

  • Heya Chris. Yeah, its on my queue to show the JetBoil in the Maxpedition 12x5 bottle holder. Damn if the thing fits in the 10x4 too! Then I'll do one where I fire it up and make some coffee.
