Very clear video with no auto-focus error! Is this the PAL version (HDR XR520VE)? Also what software did you use for conversion/editing? Nice ... there is no camcorder lag when panning either. Thanks!

it is the HDR XR520VE version; no edit, just upload the file to youtube. Focus was set to manual I guess; Low Light quality is awesome but AF can get in trouble in dim light.

Handling is also great - so if you are doing a lot of concert/theater/available light stuff - go get the Sony :-)

Thanks much! Looks like your PAL version is far superior to the NTSC version as far as resolution and panning. I've always had problems with Sony's autofocus in low light. I have to learn to turn off autofocus. Your video is very well kept in focus. Great video! Thanks!

I wish the Sony had the same kind of MF focus assist as the Panasonic (big focus ring and automatic center focus magnification). So far my only complaint...

take a look at my "Faun: Wind & Geige" video, which was also taken with Sony 520

Wow ... flashing stage lights and the Sony never balked! Excellent!

compare that to the video of the same concert from "dazemloche", which was taken with small Panasonic SDR150;

whitebalance and dynamic range from Sony are much better. But you really need an extrenal mic and manual sound control for this kind of recording

I see ... my goal is a reasonably priced camcorder that will give me High Definition resolution and no panning artifacts. So far all the videos from the NTSC version show lag while the PAL version does not apparently show this lag.
