THE 7MGTE ENGINE WAS UNDER TORQUE ON THE HEAD BOLTS, THATS why the headgasket blew often.

metal headgasket apr head studs and torque headstuds to 85 lb, and problem is solve forever.

I may be wrong but as I recall the 7MGTE's have a history of blowing up even on the stock boost. But that was one wicked fast Z.

@MRIlls It only blows headgaskets and thats only because it was under torqued from the factory. A new headgasket and torque the head down to 75ftlbs and that motor will take 700hp all day long.

what are the major differences in the mk III motors vs the 2JZ? i know the hp on the 1jz TT is rated the same as the Na 2JZ.

idk about this supra, but i can tell you an mk III pulling on a 430 has some decent mods lol.

no it's not. the 1jz-gte is rated at 200 hp and the na 2jz is rated at 220 unless its a newer lexus with lift and they are rated at 240 hp.

you have no idea what suspension mods have been done to that car. For onw it has brakes that will kill the 430, especially with being lighter, and it has a completely redesigned custom buit suspension on it. if the Z was stock I would agree

The z is owned by a friend of mine. It is a 7mgte powered '73 240z. T4 60-1 "O" trim with a lexux afm and stock 440cc injectors, and a stock 7m computer. This car hauls ass.

I'm pretty sure that you need to use 550s with the Lexus-Riemer AFM mod. Which I'm sure he has considering the performance of the Z against the Ferrari.

@neurodth I know this is old as hell but I just did the lex afm on a car with stock injecotrs, and using the N/A fuel pressure reg you get an extra 7 psi. The lex afm allows you to run 550's without going pig rich at WOT. Stock comp no prop, want a little fun slap an SAFC on there.
