  • The GTO jumped like a mother on the 50 roll i like mustangs i think the 99-04 body is nice i like power though so i cant hate on the GTO my first car was a 1965 GOAT and i tried to buy an 05 last year but they kept jerking me around on payments. I would happily drive either car.

I shift fast enough to where the rpm's barely have time to drop and even on big turbos you usually reach full spool at around 3500 and you're way past that when you're shifting.. if you're good

  • @magikstik8457 The GTO also is heavier. its weighs in the ball park of 3800lbs and the cobra close to 3400lbs, so that narrows the gap, and on top of that the cobra has slicks, so no, u couldnt beat a supercharged cobra with slicks off the line with a turbo lagging ls2 on street tires. i dont care who u are. just not happening.

  • Some cars are best from digs, some from rolls. Depends on the setup. My project car is better from rolls than my daily driver, but off the line, the driver is quicker...

  • It looked lime the GTO was actually the faster car up top but the driver was having a hard time shifting. He shouldn't lose that much groin on shifts like that.

  • When a 5.0 puts down damn near the same numbers as a 6.0 & 6.2, your choice should be a no brainer. Like what you want but if Ford made a motor that big then it would be a beast and outlawed. As for the SC and TC I would choose KB SC less parasitic loss than all other SCs and instant boost unlike turbos that have to build boost. If a TC 5.7 or 6.0 can't beat a SC 4.6 then sorry for you but the GTO driver is smart to roll from 50 to be at peak boost but most races are lost from the line. Shame a

  • nice... I used to have a 03 Ford lightning built H/C, Kenne bell 2.4l .. 23psi pushing around 680hp. 750 lbs. of trq. hence the name lightningmas. I did love my farm truck .. lol I beat so many cars on the road, there face was priceless when i left them . they like WTF??? Low 10's in 1/4 mile. :) I havent run the lexus tho. ITs a fast sucker once i get past 110mph. But the lightning was my Favorite! I do like the goat.. weigh too much. Like those other cars too.

  • @jpdienst I have a 03 Lexus IS300 T72 ATP turbo, GTE swapped with all supoorting mods. 600hp- 18psi low boost. 800hp- 24psi high boost. :) :) I dont brag. Run what you bring. I just not a goat fan. those cars are too damn heavy for what it is.

  • @LightningMAS I'm more of a domestic car guy, but that sounds like a pretty sweet ride you got. In regards to the GTO weight, yes its heavy, but compare it to its rivals and you would be surprised. For example, a 2K8 Challenger weighs 4140lbs and makes 420hp/P/W: .10, a 2K8 Mustang GT weighs 3450 making 315 hp P/W: .09, the 2010 Camaro SS weighs 3860lbs at 420 HP P/W: .11. The Goat even traps a lower ET than any of the stock times for the vehicles mentioned above.

  • @jpdienst BTW, the goat weighs 3781 with 400 hp, with power to weight of .11. Per car and drivers road test, they trapped a 13.0 flat in the quarter, faster than the majority its domestic competitors. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but if you are going to hate on the GTO, it should at least be for a valid reason :)

  • @2003MACHWON. Believe it or not there are 2010 camaros that run in the 11's with drag radials. I saw one the other day with exhaust and tune and DR's do 11.88.

  • As a GTO owner but a Mustang lover...it didn't really surprise me to see the S/C Cobra beat a T/C Goat. V8's are alot better when they are S/C'd. And Kenne Belle makes some of the best superchargers on the market and when you throw them on a 4v DOHC 4.6 mustang, it's a very deadly combination. But at the same time...all you terminator guys have to realize that you are already supercharged and from factory you can run high 12's. A factory LS2 GTO will run 13 flat and it's N/A. Come take on my Go

  • Chevy engines with turbo never worked as good as Fords engines with turbo.back in the day Paxton,vortech,powerdyne always tested their superchargers on a 5.0 Ford because it was the most common and reliable.then turbo companies did the same thing designing their first kits for the mustang.

    Im down!!! Just got the car tuned, it was never on a dyno or tuned when we were racing, and it was on LOW BOOST for that exact reason. Im down for some new runs, we'll go from a DIG & from a roll. Im still rolling on Stock sized rubber out back (265's), so im sure you will rip me out of the holeshot untill i have a tire setup on the car, and then it'll be a FAIR even race. Untill then, Roll races are the best way to show which car makes more HP

  • @yellowgto0340 If all you want to see who makes the most HP then leave the cars at home and bring the dyno sheet. Putting the power down to the pavement is the name of the game. As a fellow GTO owner i know we are limited as to what size tire we can run but thats on us to figure it out. Reguardless of who won this race, your still faster than 95% of all the cars on the road, so for that alone you should be proud. There is no shame in either of you saying you lost to either car. Both R nice.

Fyi have fun replacing your tranny after a couple races, even if you could force shift it you'd ruin the gears in your tranny.

  • @mata1038 cuz the mustang isn't targeted at the corvette's, its just a coupé with a v8, nothing really to be proud of beating unless its modded to all hell. now if you make a fair comparison you'd look at the ford gt which was the competitor with the corvette and it tore it apart in handling, acceleration, it looks more exotic, and the interior still looks pretty new compared to today, not to mention its now a collectors item.

    The gto was on 7 LBS FOR the race. Im still using the STOCK clutch, and as you all could easily see from the video's, i have to DOUBLE CLUTCH to get it to go into gear. That is why i fall back so far on each shift, and STILL am able to pass him easily once i can hold a gear. With a new clutch, and set on 9ish lbs, this would not even be close.

But when you say you double clutch upshifting I'm questioning how much you know about driving your car. Double clutching is for downshifting to save the synchros, if you're putting too much pedal in it between shifts then you'll have a hard time shoving it in gear. You obviously got beat on the shifts or not matching revs or boost who knows, this isn't a truck tranny here
