  • Some iguanas will never eat when someone is watching, don't know why...

Just keep working with him and maybe he will, I think it was a month or two with tweak before she started eating with me around.

  • @petco9870

i have some tips for you... i just bought and iguana on Sunday and i have had iguanas before but as big as the one i bought on sunday... the first day i had him he was mean as fuck he bit at the pet shop and he's whipped me like fuck idk how many times now... but now im going into the 3rd day having him.. and he is still acting the same but he doesnt bite no more all im saying is its going to take me a while to tame him... and probably your will too

  • @petco9870 you must have a iguana eating fetish,

  • yu eva notice that wild iguanas are usually some what tame as adults, i seen in person an flordia ppl petting an them walkin very close. even vids on here of wild iguanas getting touched

  • Depends on how long they have been around humans. Most adult wild iguanas i've seen are just cocky and don't care that humans are around, they will do what they want when they want lol.

  • i don't need any light for my iguana cuz it's hot here

  • as far as iguanas sociability, it very well might depend on where it came from. you can imagine iguana farms and these baby ig's having to go through a traumatic experience from the moment they hatch till they wind up in your local petco. i've had mine for 6-7 months and he's still afraid of me at all times...im looking for advice as well.

  • That and the tiny little cage they keep it in at the store... Just give it time. It took a while for me too... Taming any animal takes a great deal of time. You really only have problems in the early stages if it doesn't eat. If it doesn't eat put food in the cage and let it be. eventually it will eat. Just so other people know.

  • hey man not sure if you still check these comments but i have had my iguana for 2 and a half weeks now and he is horrified of me i move slow and work with him an hour a day he is almost a year old but what my main concern is i watch all these videos of iguanas run up and eat out of there food dish or what ever. i never see mine eat he seems to have no interest in it if you could help me out id be most grateful and yes his tank is perfect temp and humid with UVB and UVA heat lamp

  • Just give it time. Its best to leave it alone and give it fresh food until the iguana eats... But your probably past that by now. so just give it time. And make sure it eats. If it doesn't eat, put food in the cage and leave it alone for a while.

  • and where are your videos to prove you have an Iguana? Listen douche bag.... Don't talk shit you cant back up. and no I didn't squeeze. So shut the fuck up dip shit...

  • i would say he just got owned

  • lol

  • my iguana ate from my hand the first day I got him and he doesnt mind me holding him and he crawles all over me whenever I pick him and he has never tried to bite or tail whip me what caused my igg to be so sociable

  • same with mine...didn't have any prob to a friend of it...he ate for the first day from me and never tried to bite-hit me...

  • nice iguana wat happen to its tail

  • They can loos it if they whip something or if an enemy grabs it when they escape

  • hi i got my iguana like 5 weeks ago he whips me when i go to grab him he runs away can you hel me tame him? cause i want him to sleep on meh head

  • so i just got a baby iguana about 3 days ago, and ive tried to hold him about everydaY, im thinking i rushed it, now when i put my hand in his cage i get tail whipped what can i do

  • I'd let the iguana get used to its cage for two weeks in total, so like another week.

If the iguana is nippy watch the mouth and don't get bit.

If it's nippy because it's stressed put it back into the cage. Just keep handling it till its used to you. But it needs to not be stressed with its surroundings in which it lives in. So let it get used to its cage first, go easy on the overall contact for like another week, so if it does get stressed from the handling it wont be stressed in the cage.

  • I just got an iguana bout a week ago hes been really good and started eating just about 3 days after I got him I am now handling him for bout a half hour a day but I also let him explore a little he isn't very nippy but he will try to bite when he gets stressed out or sumptin any suggestions

  • i dont have any videos of my iguana but your video tameed mine

  • thanks

  • I just got an iguana and this video is going to help me tame Godzilla down, thank you. How long does it usually take?

  • It can take a while... Depends on how much you handle them.

  • My iguana is just a little smaller with longer spines on his (or her back) back, also his dewlap is always extended. But yeah they like to chill on your arm and absorb your body heat, and he's very particular to not poop in his cage.

  • My iguana only freaks out when I go to get him out of his cage, once he's out he immediately calms down and loves to crawl around (has never ran). He just freaks out when I get him out of tank.

  • Hey man , thanks for helpin. problem with my iguana is that he/she keeps trying to run away whenever i let him climb on my arm. and i havnt seen him eat

  • well, if you keep at it the iguana will eventually calm down. But if it isnt eating you should leave it alone for a while. At least till it starts to eat. Just make sure the it has food. For when it finally wants to eat... An iguana can go maby 2 weeks without eating just as long as you dont see bones pokin through. I had to leave the house for tweak to eat when i got him. And some iguanas will never eat with someone watching.

  • Make sure it has water too, scince they get the water they need from thier food most the time. The iguana may need to drink from water if its not getting any from food.

  • LOL LOL MY IGUANA USE TO BE JUST LIKE DAT

  • did you seriosuly make a vid after i wrote you

  • i was getting around to it anyway...
