  • @MakeupbyMandy24 hi! So..i have no experience what so ever in cheer or.gymnastics and im honestly not flexible at all:( I cant even do a cartwheel..so anyway..is it too late.to join gymnastics? Im 13. I dont want to be on a team or anything and I know you cheer, so what do you think?

  • @SparkzFly12 Hey , I came across your comment and im 13 too , im in gymnastics but im bnot on a team , try out in gymnastics by going into recreation .. its like once a week for a period of weeks , thats what im in . Most gyms have it.

  • I do gymnastics I'm 11 and I'm learning back gulls and front layouts in a series ur bhs is pretty good.

  • My gymnastics teacher once said tht doing/practicing back handsprings on a trampoline will ruin your back handspring.

  • Just a suggestion! If you want to do all star cheer ( or if you already are) you can only do back handsprings starting with your hands at your sides because if you want to do jumps into backhand springs then you don't have time to swing and your late. So maybe try practicing starting with your hands at your sides:)

  • Make sure not to turn your arms in. It will make them buck and land on your head. If you straighten them you will get more power and will be able to have time to straighten your legs!

  • My back handspring was just like that 2 months ago, if there is a cheer gym neer you, you should do privates, it really helps, if your squeeze your belly ( XD ) it really helps to get a rebound. (:

  • Point your toes and tighten you muscles to control your body! Good luck! :)

  • Keeping your back straight and your arms not locked, but stiff were they can still bend may help! Good luck!!!

  • Also, when you stregthen your arms a bit try a round off back hand spring.. I found it ALOT easier to feel how my back handspring and stuff should be!!:)

  • I would start with your feet together and start hallow then jump back into an arched position and when you snap down go back to hallow. In the arched posistion make sure your using your stomach muscles( using back muscles will eventually hurt trust me.) So squeeze your stomach and be tight and point your toes which should straiten your legs. Hoped this helped:)

  • This is how I do it I put my legs together, do a back bend quickly, and push with your feet it has more power. And it will make you go farther than what your landing now

  • Since ur username has elite in it I'm guessing u practice at elite or something cuz my friend goes there

  • Try and point your toes to get straighter legs:)

  • before you jump, lean back super far, then jump back really far and you'll get alot more power :)

  • Your undercutting alot! Try to reach your hands back further and snap down with straight legs:)

  • jump back a little bit further :)

  • some advice: start with your feet together. When I started my backhandsprings, I started with my feet apart, which made it harder to have enough momentum to finish the skill. Also, push off with your shoulders, instead of bending your arms. :)

  • Your hands are a bit week. Strengethen them so you get a good grip also carefully position ur legs

  • dont bed your knees so much and push off harder

  • i am a cheerleader also, and i would suggest in the middle of your backhandspring try and do a handstand! that is what a tumbling coach taught me when i started tumbling! it helps ton when you start tucks!

  • jump back not up(: and bring your chest up faster

  • amanda, where did you buy that mat you used in your house in the beginning of the video? PLZ TELL!! :)
