That was the Streamline dub, i believe.

That was back when the copyright on the original french "Arsène Lupin" was still going strong. Because Streamline Pictures didn't wanna risk getting sued, they had to change Lupin III's name to Wolf. Luckily, the name has gone into public domain nowadays.

for those of you not interested in reading the French novels, the Lupin movie "Castle of Cagliostro" is the closest thing to the spirit of the French novels. The theme of "Castle of Cagliostro" is very common in the Arsene Lupin original French stories. Word of warning though, its a boring as hell read; the plots are clever and intelligently written, and like Lupin III he's a trickster, however, there is virtually no humor.

They're kind of interesting; the reason "Castle of Cagliostro" is considered the best Lupin movie, is because "spiritually," its much closer to the original French character. The character Arsene Lupin, the french original is a romantic hero, who often does use his thieving skills to save damsels in distress from wealthy wicked men. After he saves them, he "dissapears into the night."
