just the same as some dogs can love cats, some cats can love mice...and not just as an appetizer. We don't have any cats like that around here, ours are all apex predators with a bloodlust for vermin. Which is why when they catch one we take it from them before they have a chance to hurt or kill it and release it to the woods way behind our house. Run free lil mouse! This is your second chance! And then our cats get ticked at us, swearing vengeance in our sleep. Good thing they're spoiled. lol

The cat was just cleaning its paws after killing the mouses brother.... The mouse just trusts the cat because the cat saved him from his brother.... The mouse just doesn't know hes next when the cat finishes cleaning its paws XD
