Not be to picky but Custer was not a General he was a Lieutenant Colonel. After the Civil war his battle field promotion was recended and he became a Captain in 1866 and returned to 5th Cavalry. It took him untill the Little Big Horn to make it to Lieutenant Colonel. The term General was only an honorary term but not an official rank.
I've noticed a lot of remarks here are posted by idiots who know little or nothing about the man who was George Armstrong Custer. That being said, here is some advice for you idiots: instead of posting your biased and unfounded opinions, try reading more books about Custer and the Little Bighorn. Do that, and your posts might resemble something worth reading.
If you read Stephen E. Ambrose's book "Crazy Horse and Custer" you'll learn he didn't die fighting, but rather hiding and crying under a saddle when the Sioux found him and dragged him out.
Ambrose also wrote "Band of Brothers." I suggest his books, they are historically accurate on all accounts.
@DEANaLEAN He was a Lieutenant Colonel you colonial cotton picker. The so called "last Stand" also never happened, it was just a story to try to cover up the mistakes made during the battle, REAL evidence states that the 7th Calavary were all killed whilst routing.
@jimbo271uk and yes it did happen and just because an ignorant brit tries to teach you that america didnt have a reason to fight the indians and trying to make us look bad well he can go suck a dick.
@asdl805 thats right the first massace was from the indians who killed 60 white women and children. it was the white who brought horses to north america and guns and most everthing else. 89% of indians died of diseases from eropeans , even europeans died from there own by the millions from black plague.
@jimbo271uk he was general during the battle ass hole and maybe you should read some real history as hole and maybe we should read some uk shit history
@tomanyasses your right ,i bet the white haters in here comment bad about custer, he was a great man and the indians attacked and killed first 60 women and children they killed.
@jimbo271uk You are fucked up in your head, he was a general in the cvivil war, and which commander doesnt ùake mistakes? read some books before commenting
@ColonelGeorgeACuster Well this so called last stand never happened, the 7th were all massacred when they routed. they have carried out investigations including using metal detectors which if there was a last stand there would be empty cartridges all in one area which there are not, i must admit its a nice story but embellished to cover up what was an attempt to commit genocide. Custer nowadays would be on trial as a war criminal.
@jimbo271uk Lol i think not, as he didn't do anything criminal-like obeying orders etc, + there was such a site... the "last stand hill" what you call fairy-tale. all the grave markersn they are there for a reason. that's where they found all the bodies with colts and carabines AND cartdriges..
@jimbo271uk and your a stupid piece of white trash from the U.K. your an ignorant snob and just upset that these "colonial cotton pickers" you called us are better then you and your stupid U.K.
Custer and the 7th were betrayed by their government, just as the VietNam Vets would be 90 years later, and the Iraqui Vets are now! When will the people stand behind their soldiers???
@Dogmeat1950 Even before the Europeans US got involved, there is a long line a history with nomadic native americaan tribes fighting and killing eachother for land and resources; no different from the british empire taking on france or spain for trade rights and resources. Its simply human nature to go out and take what you think should be yours. Im just glad to live here where such options exist to go out and claim whats yours without so much violence these days lol.
@RazrBlayde It never was about killing Indians for the sake of killing Indians. It was about, at first, seeking refuge (at least on the American front) from things such as opression of religion and high taxes.
After the Indians started attacking Colonists there wasn't much of a reason to respect their claims to the land.
Hey, they picked a fight with a massive population base with much more advanced weopanary. Yes, they didn't all desrve to die, but can't you see where it came from?
@funnyhispanic thomas wier died of sadness 6 months after the little big horn with post trumatic stress disorder.you were right. and im a taino.(a native american of puerto rico)
Reno and Benteen - shame on them!! This is a fine tribute to an American hero who has been misrepresented by historians and Hollywood. It's moving and fitting. Thanks!

Custer was a spineless, insecure, and arrogant little coward who killed women & children while they slept. He was the epitome of hubris.
Things worked out a little differently at the Little Big Horn when he fought MEN.

THE INDIANS ARE THE HEROS AND THE MEN OF HONOR,FOR TAKING A STAND AND FIGHTY FOR WHAT WAS THEIRS. Custer got what he deserved. DEATH

Ok what I don't get is that the Indians was in the same battle and they seen the same fucking thing but we still get different info from them
For example a warrior says Custer died here but wait another says he died here so I say there info full of lies.
We will reveal the truth of what really happened when we discover time travel technology
